Implementation of Information System in Indonesian Traditional Beverage Businesses

This study aims to apply the information system to every business owner who can inform businesses beverage container business through information technology. The function of this information system's application is for business owners and customers interested in buying products business. This study is an application of information systems in the Indonesian Traditional Beverage Business. This study's method was conducted using qualitative descriptive writing method of collecting data through literature study and observation to the growing beverage business owners. Information system development is conducted using the waterfall method. The results of this study show an overview of how the information system is expected by the business owner as well as the beverage business impact that can provide the quality of the business product beverage business is being run. The conclusion is that there is a large information container such as a website application applied to the Indonesian traditional beverage business so that website visitors can see, buy, or provide suggestions or comments regarding the already available product

Resilience and well-being among children of migrant parents in South-East Asia

There has been little systematic empirical research on the well-being of children in transnational households in South-East Asia—a major sending region for contract migrants. This study uses survey data collected in 2008 from children aged 9, 10 and 11 and their caregivers in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam (N=1,498). Results indicate that while children of migrant parents, especially migrant mothers, are less likely to be happy compared to children in non-migrant households, greater resilience in child well-being is associated with longer durations of maternal absence. There is no evidence for a direct parental migration effect on school enjoyment and performance. The analyses highlight the sensitivity of results to the dimension of child well-being measured and who makes the assessment.Publisher PDFPeer reviewe

The Condition and Distribution of Stony Corals (Scleractinia Corals) in Bangka Water

Bangka water is well known as the best tin producer in which there are many off-shore tin-mining activities conducted by both local people and tin companies. Such condition apparently brings negative impacts to marine life. Stony corals are considered as the major component of coral reef ecosystems whose condition is influenced by environmental condition. The aim of this study is to observe the general condition of coral reefs and the distribution of stony corals in Bangka Water. The study was carried out between September and November 2010 by taking 10 stations. The method used was LIT as long as 70 meters installed parallel to the coast line. The result indicates that generally the condition of coral reef was categorized as fair condition, the coral cover averaging at 47, 82 %. There were 89 species of stony corals found, divided into 13 genera. The most dominant species was Porites lutea , particularly at Station 6 by 33,3%. The prolonged turbidity mainly caused by tin-mining activities is thought to lead the coral reefs to critical condition particularly in some areas

Pengaruh Penambahan Cyromazine pada Pakan terhadap Pertumbuhan Populasi Larva Musca Domestica pada Kotoran Unggas

Flies are vector of disease living near human settlements and farm. In poultry, cyromazine larvicides used to control the growth of the flies by mixing into poultry feed. This application method leaving residues risk in eggs and poultry meat. Therefore, the effectiveness of flies growth inhibition due cyromazine need to be investigated. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adding cyromazine in feed on the population growth of Musca domestica larvae in poultry manure. This research is a quasi experimental with posttest group only. The population is all rearing result of the first generation Musca domestica larvae, with a sample of 720 larvae. Cyromazine dose used is 1%, Poultry manure used is chicken manure and quail.The analytical method used is the analysis Growth Index (GI), Relative Growth Index (RGI), Kruskal Wallis test, and Mann Whitney test. Results showed that the GI value on chicken manure, quail manure, husk, mixture of husk and concentrate is 0,48; 0,61; 0; 1 and value RGI 48%, 61%, 0%, 100%. Statistically, they are differences of mortality in chicken manure and quail manure (p value = 0.000 <0.05).The use cyromazine 1% in the feed is not effective to inhibit the growth of Musca domestica larvae
