REPRESENTAÇÕES DO COMPORTAMENTO FEMININO EM BELO HORIZONTE (1920-1930) * REPRESENTATIONS OF FEMALE BEHAVIOUR IN BELO HORIZONTE (1920-1930)

Os impressos contribuíram para a difusão de representações, de diferenciações e de classificações sociais do comportamento feminino. Durante as décadas de 1920 e 1930 em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, os jornais publicaram diversos textos dispersos dirigidos às mulheres e aos seus comportamentos que são uma importante série documental para a análise das distinções a partir da interseccionalidade do gênero com as dimensões raciais e sexuais (morais). Essas representações produziram e foram produzidas pela dicotomia entre “mulher honesta” e “mulher decaída”. Argumento que essa situação é parte de um amplo processo de construção de diferentes mecanismos de normatização dos comportamentos femininos que se relacionam com as distinções sociais e de gênero que marcaram a sociedade brasileira.*The press contributed to the production and dissemination of social representation, differentiation and classifications of female behaviour. The 1920’s and 1930’s newspapers in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, have published several dispersed texts addressed to women and their behaviour. They form an important series of documents to the analysis of social distinctions from intersectionality of gender with the racial, social and sexual (moral) dimensions. These representations forged and have been shaped by the dichotomy between the “honest woman” and the “fallen woman”. I argue that this situation is part of a large process of production of different arrangements of standardisation of female performance that are related with the social and gender distinctions of the Brazilian society

A força pública e o policiamento do estado republicano em Minas Gerais

Análise do policiamento do estado de Minas Gerais sob a responsabilidade da força pública mineira tendo como foco o ponto de vista dos comandantes da força pública e dos chefes de polícia entre 1894 e1922. Aprincipal documentação utilizada é um conjunto de relatórios de gestão da Secretaria de Polícia que contêm análises anuais da administração policial, elaboradas por delegados, comandantes e bacharéis que dirigiram a chefia de polícia. A abordagem privilegia o estudo das representações sobre os soldados e oficiais da força pública mineira. Tais representações dialogaram com um imaginário mais amplo sobre o caráter pacífico e ordeiro da população mineira, partilhado entre as elites do estado. A presença dos militares nos municípios, a formação de soldados e oficiais e a questão da indisciplina estiveram interligadas em torno do problema da gestão moderna do policiamento do estado mineiro. Os projetos de policiamento do estado mantiveram relações com os projetos políticos das elites para a sociedade brasileira, mas encontraram entraves no próprio cotidiano da instituição

Em Agosto de 2003, foi inaugurado o Shopping Popular Oiapoque em Belo Horizonte, o que foi de grande importância para a região central da cidade, pois a partir daí, esta área que antes era conhecida por ser suja e marginalizada, mudou em pouco tempo para uma imagem melhor ampliando o número de pedestres e melhorando significativamente o comércio local. O empreendimento chamado por muitos de Shopping Oi é alvo de diversas polêmicas e críticas, pois, grande parte das lojas comercializa produtos piratas. O fluxo de consumidores e visitantes o transformaram no shopping de maior movimento em Belo Horizonte. O objetivo deste estudo é avaliar e demonstrar a transição dos antigos camelôs para os comerciantes de shoppings populares, e com isso estabelecer uma relação com seus consumidores e suas tendências

Program for the Promotion of Children’s Socio-cognitive development Part 2: Parents Intervention

The social cognition is very important for a successful social interaction, and thus for the psychosocial balance of individuals. It is considering the importance of such, that one program was created to promote the children’s social-cognitive development, which focuses on moral resilience and social competence. Two groups, in parallel intervention, were attended in this program: parents with children up to 12 years and children from 7 to 12 years. The intervention modules for parents were addressed with greater emphasis, answering questions like: "What impact does the interactions and experiences offered by the people closest to the child have in his/her development and how it is possible to maximize their potential?

In Silico Approach For Characterization And Comparison Of Repeats In The Genomes Of Oil And Date Palms

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES)Transposable elements (TEs) are mobile genetic elements present in almost all eukaryotic genomes. Due to their typical patterns of repetition, discovery, and characterization, they demand analysis by various bioinformatics software. Probably, as a result of the need for a complex analysis, many genomes publicly available do not have these elements annotated yet. In this study, a de novo and homology-based identification of TEs and microsatellites was performed using genomic data from 3 palm species: Elaeis oleifera (American oil palm, v.1, Embrapa, unpublished; v.8, Malaysian Palm Oil Board [MPOB], public), Elaeis guineensis (African oil palm, v. 5, MPOB, public), and Phoenix dactylifera (date palm). The estimated total coverage of TEs was 50.96% (523 572 kb) and 42.31% (593 463 kb), 39.41% (605 015 kb), and 33.67% (187 361 kb), respectively. A total of 155 726 microsatellite loci were identified in the genomes of oil and date palms. This is the first detailed description of repeats in the genomes of oil and date palms. A relatively high diversity and abundance of TEs were found in the genomes, opening a range of further opportunities for applied research in these genera. Pilot project for peer tutoring: a case study in a Portuguese university

Purpose – Tutoring or mentoring is a form of mutual and informal learning which has distant origins. This is a way of sharing knowledge and experience which has been proved to be extremely useful in educational settings, particularly where there is a peer that plays the role of tutor. Despite its informal characteristic, tutoring should be a structured process, with defined goals and clear roles for both: tutors and tutees, those who benefit from tutoring. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – As this paper aims to explore a pilot project, it was used as a reflexive and practical methodology, in a case study, analyzing the number of participants attending the project as well as the contents of the training course. Findings – In this first project in a Portuguese university, 35 students attended as candidates to tutor, participating in the training course, showing interest in helping their colleagues. Originality/value – This proposal for a tutoring program in a public higher institution aims to train college students to help other colleagues, giving academic support, helping in the adaptation to academic context, promoting autonomy in learning, sharing effective strategies and helping in maintenance of positive interpersonal relationships.
