Klíčová slova všeobecný lidský konatel, man, překladové ekvivalenty, InterCorpThe thesis describes and analyzes the possible translation counterparts of the German pronoun man which is used to express the general human agent. As English does not entail such device, it resorts to other syntactic and morphological devices such as the passive voice, various personal pronouns or non-finite constructions. The thesis also aims to discern and describe the systems and rules of the use of the translation counterparts by the means of quantitative- qualitative analysis based on two classification systems of man taken over from Helbig & Buscha, 2017, and Gelabert-Desnoyer, 2008. All excerpts are classified with regard to the counterpart used in the translation as well as with regard to the features attributed to the examples of man based on the two classification systems. The analysis is performed on 247 examples taken over from InterCorp v13, from the fields of fiction writing and parliamentary debates. INVESTIGATION OF COMPRESSIBLE FLOW THROUGH A TURBINE BLADE CASCADE FOR VARIOUS TRANSONIC FLOW REGIMES

    Get PDF
This paper deals with the numerical simulation of 2D transonic flow through the SE1050 turbine blade cascade at various flow conditions. The first one concerns the design operation with a zero incidence angle involved in the ERCOFTAC Database CFD-QNET and the second one with a +20° incidence angle corresponding to an off-design operation. Advanced mathematical models with two different models of the bypass transition to turbulence were applied for the simulation of different regimes of transonic flows as well as with attached and separated flows. Transition models proposed by Dick et al. [1] and by Menter and Smirnov [2] are based on transport equations for the intermittency coefficient. Numerical results were compared with experimental data based on the optical and pressure measurements

Mechanical Properties of Basalt Fiber Reinforced Fly Ash-Based Geopolymer Composites

This article analyses the influence of a short basalt fibre admixture on the mechanical properties of geopolymers, especially compressive strength. This preliminary research is the first step towards the development of a composite for fire resistant applications in civil engineering. This study investigates the behaviour of a fly ash based geopolymer containing basalt fibres. Fly ash from the coal power plant ‘Skawina’ (located in: Skawina, Lesser Poland, Poland) was used as the raw material. The chemical composition of this fly ash is typical for class F. Three series of fly ash based geopolymers were cast. In the first, short basalt fibres were added as 1% by weight of fly ash, in the second short basalt fibres were added as 2% by weight of fly ash and the third functioned as a control series without any fibres. Each series of samples were tested on compressive strength after 28, 14 and 7 days, and specimen density was determined. Additionally, microstructural analysis was carried out after 28 days. The results show that the addition of basalt fibres can improve the mechanical properties of geopolymer composites. Keywords: geopolymer, basalt fibre, composites, fire resistanc

Transition Modelling on Separated Flow in Turbine Cascade

    No full text
The work deals with numerical simulation of turbulent ow through turbine cascade by RANS model with model of transition to turbulence. Performance of two transition models is compared. First one is gamma-zeta model based on transition criteria, second one algebraic transition model based on the concept of laminar uctuations energy (Kubacki, Dick 2016). The criterion for transition in separated state is re-formulated in order to remove stream-wise non-local formulation. The performance of the transition models is observed on the shock wave - boundary layer interaction on turbine blade

Career choice in adolescence: role of gender stereotypes and identification with mathematics

Career choice in education and the acquired/achieved level of education are factors that influence social status of men and women. Despite the fact that women, on average, currently achieve a higher level of education than men, women's marketplace status and their height of salary often do not correspond to it. One of the reasons is a low proportion of women in mathematics-related subjects. The aim of this research was to investigate the role of gender stereotypes and identification with mathematics in career choice. In the theoretical part of this thesis, I introduce the basic terms related to gender and gender stereotypes, the role gender plays in institutions and the potential causes of gender differences in the performance in mathematics. In the empirical part, I analyse data from a questionnaire study investigating career choice, level of identification with mathematics, attitudes to courses in the curriculum and the level of gender stereotypes in Czech adolescents. The results suggest few differences between girls and boys in these areas. However, the level of identification with mathematics and the level of gender stereotypes in the career area are related to the educational career choice

This paper deals with evaluation of quality of technical resources to support education of students with handicap at computers. This work aims to map and asses' quality and market appeal of common technical resources for home usage with opinion on less common technical resources for average user and at same time with respect for students with handicap. This publication is divided into four logical parts. First part is devoted to theoretical approach into field of handicaps. From nature of illnesses and handicaps result essential facts, that affects using computers by users with handicap. At the end of this section are noted appropriate ways of using computers. Second part attends to financial seriousness when buying technical resources in this field of purpose. Third section briefly describe method of evaluating products based on first part and define criterion which reflects facts of relevant handicap and at same time also demands of common human user. Fourth part concludes mapping and delivers assessment of chosen products. Publication is completed by trends and facts that affect present market with technical resources
