Integración de redes de conocimiento : una responsabilidad de la biblioteca universitaria

The era of the information like a proposal is analyzed that comes from the hand of the globalización process of the economy. From the structure of the classic model of university, one approaches the concept and the characterization of the project of globalización of the knowledge and its implications for the different blocks from nations that participate in planetary dynamics. The networks of computers, the academic or scientific alert networks, networks, and their independent development are described. The integration of these networks, and the generation and maintenance of knowledge networks, provide the conditions so that the academic community fulfills its mission educational and of generation of knowledge for benefit of the society to which it belongs. A new responsibility arises for the university library: to lead processes of integration and cooperation that allow the free flow of the information to take advantage of, in the Colombian and Latin American context, the enormous possibilities of scientific and social development that offers the call revolution of the knowledge

Cibercultura crítica universitaria : el poder de transformar la sociedad informatizada

RESUMEN: En este trabajo se presenta una postura crítica que orienta el abordaje de las cuestiones ciberculturales contemporáneas, así como una propuesta básica de contenidos a desarrollar curricularmente. En la primera parte, los estudios de la cibercultura, se define el concepto de cibercultura y describen los dos grandes fenómenos que dan lugar a su emergencia, el proyecto de informatización de las sociedades y la creación del ciberespacio. En la segunda aparte, El giro decolonial, interculturalidad y diferencia colonial, se presenta la perspectiva teórica desde la cual se interpreta la cibercultura. En la última sesión, Cibercultura crítica y sistemas simbólicos: la conexión entre cultura, saber y poder, se plantea que ante la evidencia de que la colonialidad de la era moderna se actualiza en una cibercolonialidad, desde el giro decolonial se propone una pedagogía decolonial como alternativa de resistencia y reconstrucción de la sociedad que puede ser integrada a una propuesta de formación en cibercultura crítica en el contexto universitario

Entre la ciencia y la vida : diálogos con investigadores de la Universidad de Antioquia

El Día del Investigador es un programa muy apreciado en la Universidad de Antioquia, llevado a cabo por el Sistema de Bibliotecas. Van cerca de cincuenta conversaciones con importantes investigadores de la Alma Máter, siempre guiadas por el profesor Eduardo Domínguez Gómez, quien generosa y diligentemente ha accedido no solo a comenzar este programa en 2013, sino a mantenerlo en el tiempo y a hacerlo de gran interés para los distintos públicos universitarios, desde los estudiantes mismos, hasta profesores y empleados. Todos asisten gustosos a estas amenas y útiles conversaciones. Porque enseñan cómo se han formado los profesores y especialistas en diferentes ramas del saber, y también cómo ha transcurrido, a veces con detalles y pormenores, su ardua vida personal llena de altibajos (satisfacciones y derrotas, alegrías y pesadumbres), pero finalmente vida feliz, o al menos satisfecha, porque han logrado hacer lo que más han querido que es la investigación y el desarrollo del saber, y la Universidad les ha permitido, de manera a veces inmejorable, salir adelante. Esa condición de dignidad y de altura, en todos los casos es exhibida aquí con el orgullo auténtico que dan la persistencia, el empeño y el talento al servicio de una causa tan importante para la cultura como la ciencia, la docencia y la investigación

Transformaciones de la escritura : una experiencia desde el enfoque sociocultural

RESUMEN: Nuestro trabajo de profundización se ocupa de la deconstrucción y transformación de las prácticas pedagógicas relacionadas con la enseñanza de la escritura asumida como proceso desde una perspectiva sociocultural. Para ello, diseñamos, implementamos y evaluamos tres secuencias didácticas a partir de tópicos locales: lugares emblemáticos, personajes representativos y sitios comerciales. Lo anterior fue orientado desde el paradigma cualitativo a partir del método de Investigación Acción, recopilando las voces de los participantes y los detalles del proceso a través de instrumentos como el diario de campo y la entrevista semiestructurada, que seguido constituyen las categorías de análisis en el proceso de triangulación. De esta forma, concluimos que es posible transformar nuestras prácticas de aula partiendo de nuevas formas de configurar la enseñanza de la escritura, una escritura que se conecte con la vida y la realidad de nuestros contextos, yendo más allá de los muros de la escuela y al mismo tiempo de nuestras viejas concepciones.ABSTRACT: Our work of deepening takes care of the deconstruction and transformation of the pedagogical practices related to the teaching of the writing assumed like process from a sociocultural perspective. To this end, we design, implement and evaluate three didactic sequences from local topics: emblematic places, representative characters and commercial sites. The above was oriented from the qualitative paradigm from the action research method, Gathering the voices of the participants and the details of the process through instruments such as the field diary and the semi-structured interview, configuring these in categories of analysis for triangulation In this way we come to the conclusion that it is possible to transform our classroom practices starting from new ways of setting up the teaching of scripture, a scripture that connects with the life and reality of our contexts, going beyond the walls of the school and at the same time of our old conceptions

Las interacciones entre información e innovación desde la perspectiva de una ética bibliotecológica

This investigation develops four oriented moments to obtain a critical understanding of the interactions between information and innovation and the ethical challenges that such interactions raise for the librarianship. In the first part one approaches the definition and characterization of the information in the scope of the library science, with the purpose of surpassing the problem of the multiplicity of meanings that adopts east term from different disciplinary points of view. Next, within the framework of the social studies of science and the technology (STS), one analyzes the present concept of innovation and its senses in the ideological context of the technoeconomic paradigm and the speech of the market’s logic. Thirdly, the foundations of a librarianship ethics based on the speech ethics applied to the professions are exposed and to the organizations, which constitutes the philosophical frame for, finally, to approach of critical way the interactions between information and innovation in the libray science field. One concludes that, since the information is simultaneously input and an essential product in relation to the phenomenon of the technological and informational innovation, the interactions of these components must be understood deeply and critically by the librarianship and, in such sense, the innovation as dimension of the technological rationality must be approached integrally in a perfect balance with the dimensions of the control of the risk and its social impact, which demands that the librarianship as sociocultural actors and the library as social institution assumes a based moral attitude philosophically

The thesis that is developed is that the library as social institution and the librarian that acts according to his personal and professional mission have a social responsibility for with the community to the one which lend their services

Las tecnologías de la información en las bibliotecas públicas

RESUMEN: Se hace un análisis de las nuevas tecnologías de la información y su incidencia en las bibliotecas públicas. En un entorno revolucionado por una acelerada carrera tecnológica, acompañada de una creciente avalancha de información digital, que han afectado considerablemente la visión del mundo y las relaciones sociales, se contextualizan los retos a los cuales se enfrenta la moderna biblioteca pública. Finalmente, se describe el estado de las bibliotecas públicas de Medellín en relación con las tecnologías de la información, y se plantean algunas ideas y propuestas para que los bibliotecólogos asuman un papel atento, crítico y emprendedor ante las posibilidades y problemáticas que ofrecen las nuevas tecnologías de la información

Dementia in Latin America : paving the way towards a regional action plan

Regional challenges faced by Latin American and Caribbean countries (LACs) to fight dementia, such as heterogeneity, diversity, political instabilities, and socioeconomic disparities, can be addressed more effectively grounded in a collaborative setting based on the open exchange of knowledge. In this work, the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium on Dementia (LAC-CD) proposes an agenda for integration to deliver a Knowledge to Action Framework (KtAF). First, we summarize evidence-based strategies (epidemiology, genetics, biomarkers, clinical trials, nonpharmacological interventions, networking and translational research) and align them to current global strategies to translate regional knowledge into actions with transformative power. Then, by characterizing genetic isolates, admixture in populations, environmental factors, and barriers to effective interventions and mapping these to the above challenges, we provide the basic mosaics of knowledge that will pave the way towards a KtAF. We describe strategies supporting the knowledge creation stage that underpins the translational impact of KtAF
