Las interacciones entre información e innovación desde la perspectiva de una ética bibliotecológica

Abstract

This investigation develops four oriented moments to obtain a critical understanding of the interactions between information and innovation and the ethical challenges that such interactions raise for the librarianship. In the first part one approaches the definition and characterization of the information in the scope of the library science, with the purpose of surpassing the problem of the multiplicity of meanings that adopts east term from different disciplinary points of view. Next, within the framework of the social studies of science and the technology (STS), one analyzes the present concept of innovation and its senses in the ideological context of the technoeconomic paradigm and the speech of the market’s logic. Thirdly, the foundations of a librarianship ethics based on the speech ethics applied to the professions are exposed and to the organizations, which constitutes the philosophical frame for, finally, to approach of critical way the interactions between information and innovation in the libray science field. One concludes that, since the information is simultaneously input and an essential product in relation to the phenomenon of the technological and informational innovation, the interactions of these components must be understood deeply and critically by the librarianship and, in such sense, the innovation as dimension of the technological rationality must be approached integrally in a perfect balance with the dimensions of the control of the risk and its social impact, which demands that the librarianship as sociocultural actors and the library as social institution assumes a based moral attitude philosophically
