Negativity and event. A dialogue between Adorno and Heidegger from the perspective of Gianni Vattimo's hermeneutics

Este trabajo tiene la intención de ofrecer un esbozo de una interpretación más radical de la ontología heideggeriana que a la crítica destructiva de Adorno le pasaba inadvertida. El propósito de esta presentación es rescatar las aspiraciones de disolución del dominio y emancipación que alentaron los esfuerzos teóricos del autor de Negative Dialectik. Esos esfuerzos quedaron sin concretarse en el pensamiento de Adorno porque su crítica se movía en el horizonte de la metafísica. Para mostrarlo hemos elegido como hilo conductor la lectura que el filósofo italiano Gianni Vattimo propone en su última hermenéutica nihilista. Esta lectura que viene a sumarse a los intentos más actuales que tratan de desarrollar un “heideggerianismo de izquierda”. Su particularidad consiste en que ha vuelto a entablar un original diálogo con Nietzsche y la tradición hegelo-marxista para desplegar el potencial transformador y diferenciador que aún late en la filosofía del último Heidegger.This paper intends to sketch a more radical interpretation of the Heideggerian ontology that went unnoticed to Adorno's destructive criticism. The purpose of such a kind of presentation is to recover the aspirations to emancipation and the dissolution of domination that encouraged the theoretical efforts of the author of Negative Dialectik. Those efforts remained unfulfilled in Adorno's thinking because his criticism revolved around the horizon of metaphysics. To show this we have chosen the connecting thread that can be read into the last nihilistic hermeneutics posited by the Italian philosopher Gianni Vattimo. His reading could be inscribed among the latest attempts to develop a “left-wing Heideggerianism”. But its peculiarity is that it re-engages in a dialogue with Nietzsche and the Hegelian-Marxist tradition to unfold the transforming and differentiating potential that still lives in the philosophy of the last Heidegger

Decir adiós a la Verdad. Apuntes sobre la radicalización en hermenéutica de Gianni Vattimo

Este trabajo se propone analizar algunos aspectos de la radicalización de la hermenéutica de Gianni Vattimo. Esa radicalización está estrechamente relacionada con un intento de vincular el pensamiento de Heidegger y Nietzsche con el de Marx. Este pro-yecto que el filósofo ha venido desarrollando en los últimos años en realidad no es com-pletamente nuevo en la obra de Vattimo. Pero después de la crítica a la metafísica ha dado origen a una hermenéutica de la escucha de la actualidad y ha definido al pensamiento débil como un pensamiento de los débiles y para los débiles. Así a la luz de lo que pasa en el mundo desarrollado, Vattimo propone una ontología de la actualidad que intenta pensar las condiciones para que se produzca un nuevo acontecimiento del Ser. Ese acontecimien-to que está ausente en el mundo desarrollado, se relaciona con la posibilidad de escuchar el silencio de los vencidos de la historia en el sentido señalado por Walter Benjamin. Esto conduce a reabrir el conflicto contra las fuerzas que impiden que ese acontecimiento se pueda dar. Para pensar el conflicto como condición de posibilidad de este nuevo aconte-cimiento del Ser, el filósofo de Turín se inspira en la tensión entre Cielo y Tierra que Hei-degger establece en su ensayo sobre el Origen de la obra de arte.This paper seeks to analyze some aspects of Gianni Vattimo’s hermeneutics radicalization. Such radicalization is closely connected with an attemptat linking Heidegger and Nietzsche’s thoughts to Marx’s. This project, which the philosopher has been devel-oping as of late, actually is not completely new in Vattimo’s work. In fact, after a critique to Metaphysics, he has given rise to a hermeneutics of listening to the current moment and he has defined “weak thought” as the thought of the weak and for the weak. Thus, in the light of the events in the developed world, Vattimo proposes an ontology of the actuality which tries to think about the conditions for a new occurrence of the Being to take place. This occurrence, which is absent from the developed world, is related to the possibility of listening to the silence of those defeated in history, in the way that Walter Benjamin point-ed out. This leads to re-opening the conflict with the forces preventing that occurrence from happening. In order to think about this conflict as a condition enabling the possibil-ity for this new occurrence of the Being to take place, the philosopher from Turin finds inspiration in the tension between Heaven and Earth established by Heidegger in his essay on the origin of the work of art

Scientific production and collaboration in the areas of information : comparing articles of brazilian journals with works of ENANCIB (1994-2013)

Evento realizado pela Associação Nacional de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação (ANCIB) e organizado pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (PPGCIECI/UFMG).O desenvolvimento de uma área científica inclui o desenvolvimento da sua literatura que ocorre de maneira diferente em cada área e com influências da estrutura socioeconômica de cada país. Este estudo mostra, por meio da bibliometria, os níveis anuais de produção e colaboração científica em dois tipos de documentos das áreas de informação até 2013, complementando estudos anteriores que proporcionaram uma visão até 2010. Usa análise de frequência da produção de documentos (artigos de periódicos e trabalhos de um evento nacional) e dos tipos de autoria (única ou múltipla). O universo foram os artigos de periódicos, publicados entre 1994 e 2013, e os trabalhos (comunicações e pôsteres) publicados nos anais dos Encontros Nacionais de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação – ENANCIB realizados entre 1994 e 2013. Foi confirmada a tendência de crescimento da produção de artigos e trabalhos, estabelecendo-se novos patamares anuais de produção: 450 artigos e 300 trabalhos. Os índices de autoria múltipla atingiram patamares próximos a 70% nos artigos e 80% nos trabalhos de ENANCIB. Os gráficos produzidos sugerem a existência de correspondência sincrônica entre os dois canais medidos (periódicos e evento), com prevalência de autoria múltipla, alcançada primeiramente no evento e depois nos periódicos, após cinco anos de intervalo.The development of a scientific area includes the development of its literature that occurs differently in each area and with influences of socio-economic structure of each country. This study shows, by means of bibliometrics, annual levels of production and scientific collaboration in two types of documents in the areas of information until 2013, complementing previous studies that have provided a vision until 2010. Uses frequency analysis of production of documents (articles of journals and proceedings of a national event) and types of authorship (single or multiple authoring). The universe were the journal articles, published between 1994 and 2013, and works (papers and posters) published in the annals of the Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação (ENANCIB) carried out between 1994 and 2013. Has been confirmed the growth trend of production of articles and works, establishing new annual levels of documents: 450 articles and 300 works. Multiple authoring indexes have reached levels close to 70% in articles and 80% in the works of ENANCIB. The graphics produced suggests the existence of synchronous correspondence between the two channels measured (journals and the event), with prevalence of multiple authorship, reached first in the event and then in periodicals, after five years

Influence of initial oxygen on the formation of thiol layers

In this study, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) has been used to study thin organic films. For comparison, monolayers were formed on clean and air-exposed metal substrates. Obtained results show that thiols remove contamination oxygen from gold, silver, platinum and copper surfaces. The tightly packed thiolate layers can be formed. In addition, oxygen does not take part in the final bonding of molecules to the surfaces. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

ToF-SIMS study of 1-dodecanethiol adsorption on Au, Ag, Cu and Pt surfaces

Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) has been used to perform a chemical analysis of long-chain thiol (CH3(CH2)(11)SH)-treated gold, silver, copper and platinum surfaces. All the mass peaks from positive and negative ion spectra within the range m/z = 0-2000 u are studied. ToF-SIMS data revealed that on gold, silver and copper substrates 1-dodecanethiol form dense standing-up phases, but on platinum being a catalytically active substrate, we were able to identify also surface-aligned parallel lying molecules in addition to a standing thiolate layer. Our study shows that when ToF-SIMS spectra are analyzed, not only the existence of oligomers but also metal + hydrocarbon fragments give information about the order of SAM. Notas sobre ontología del declinar La hermenéutica nihilista de Gianni Vattimo

Gianni Vattimo is undoubtedly one of the greatest living philosophers who has undertaken the difficult enterprise of renewing the left wing critic thinking in a post metaphysical era by means of “weak thinking” proposal which reformulates the possibilities of human emancipation in terms of a progressive reduction of violence and dogmatism. In this paper, the fundamental thesis of the “Debolista Hermeneutics” is rebuilt and there is an intent to answer the question of why the commitment with the emancipation, is important for Gianni Vattimo’s philosophy, when it is no more possible to continue invoking to the notion of correspondence to legitimate the speech.Gianni Vattimo es sin duda uno de los mayores filósofos vivos que se ha embarcado en una difícil empresa de renovación del pensamiento critico de izquierda en una era posmetafísica, mediante una propuesta de pensamiento débil que reformula las posibilidades de emancipación humana en términos de una progresiva reducción de la violencia y el dogmatismo. En este trabajo se reconstruyen las tesis fundamentales de la hermenéutica debolista y se intenta responder a la pregunta de por qué el compromiso con la emancipación es importante para la filosofía de Vattimo cuando ya no es más posible seguir invocando a la noción de verdad por correspondencia para legitimar el discurso

Infometrics : history ans trends

Numa releitura da história das metrias da informação em todas suas variantes, o presente Capítulo resgata a contribuição de numerosos pesquisadores da Ïndia, bem como da Europa Oriental e da antiga União Soviética, estes últimos notadamente no domínio da cientometria. O Interesse pelos estudos infométricos no Brasil, e mais particularmente pela bibliometria, nos anos 70-80 do passado século, experimentou posteriormente um declínio significativo, para renascer com nova pujança nos últimos anos, emnumerosas aplicações. A intenção deste longo Capítulo é mostrar, com o auxílio de exemplos concretos, a variedade de aplicações das metrias da informação e, o que é mais importante, ―como fazer‖. Sob uma variedade de nomes – bibliometria, infometria, cientometria, webmetria, etc. – as técnicas infométricas abrem à ciência da informação um brilhante leque de aplicações nos procesos informacionais de representação, organização, gestão, recuperação, planejamento, inferência, tomada de decisão, competitividade, inovação, e todos os desdobramentos políticos, sociais, econômicos, educativos e culturais.In a new reading of the history of infometrics in its whole variety, this Capter uncovers the contribution of a number of Indian, as well as East-European and Russian researchers, the last ones mainly in the domain of scientometrics. A comunidade de Museologia no Brasil : aspectos da produção e dos canais de comunicação

Evento realizado pela Associação Nacional de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação (ANCIB) e organizado pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (PGCIN-/UFSC).Apresenta estudo da área de Comunicação Científica referente a alguns aspectos da produção de artigos científicos e dos canais de comunicação mais utilizados pela comunidade científica de Museologia no Brasil entre 2000 e 2011. O objetivo do trabalho é identificar características da produção e dos canais formais de comunicação da área de Museologia em relação a: níveis de produção e colaboração, gênero dos autores, tipo de documento, idioma e nacionalidade. Apresenta um estudo descritivo que utiliza como metodologia a bibliometria, incluindo a análise de produção e de citação. Conclui que no período estudado a produção de artigos apresentou crescimento irregular, aumentaram os índices de colaboração, houve prevalência de autorias femininas, os documentos mais citados foram os livros seguidos pelos artigos de periódicos e a maioria dos documentos citados foi publicada no Brasil em língua portuguesa.Presents study of scientific communication area for some aspects of the production of scientific papers and the communication channels used by the scientific community of Museology in Brazil between 2000 and 2011. The objective of this work is to identify characteristics of the production and formal channels of communication in the area of Museology in relation to: levels of production and collaboration, gender of authors, document type, language and nationality. Use bibliometrics including analysis of production and citation. Concludes that in the period studied the production of articles presented irregular growth, increased levels of collaboration, there was prevalence of female authorship, most cited papers were the books followed by journal articles and most of the citations were published in Brazil in Portuguese
