The suffering caused by the loss of a love one is a stage of the life cycle of all people. However, mourning by suicide keeps certain characteristics that makes it particularly complicated and different from the other types of mourning. This study has two objectives: on the one hand, the intention is to analyze the common characteristics in relation to mourning by suicide in order to establish the basis of an intervention program for survivors and on the other hand, the second objective is to propose an intervention program aimed at survivors from the third generation therapies.
Despite the fact that the number of deaths due to suicide is very high and thus the number of people affected, the literature about actions and specific interventions for this sector of the population is insufficient, so this study proposes a specific intervention for mourning by suicide.Trabajo de Fin de Grado de Psicología compuesto de 83 páginas
Psychosocial profile, risk factors and reintegration in adult women prisoners: A systematic review
The objective of this work was to analyze the psychological effects associated with the
stay in prison in women prisoners as well as their psychosocial profile. For this purpose, a literature
search was carried out in the following databases: Web of Science, Scopus, Psicodoc, PsycInfo,
Pubmed and DOAJ. In the search a total of 1403 papers were located (1350 articles and 53 reviews),
finally selecting 106 studies. There are important differences between men and women in terms
of adjustment to prison, in addition to the fact that women prisoners have specific needs. In conclusion,
more studies are needed to complement the information on the psychological effects of
women in less developed countries
Immunogenicity of a recombinant hemagglutinin neuraminidase-Porcine rubulavirus produced by Escherichia coli of Porcine rubulavirus gives protective immunity of litter after challenge
Porcine rubulavirus (PRV) is a contagious virus that affects the Mexican swine industry. This work aimed to evaluate the immunogenicity of an recombinant hemagglutinin neuraminidase-Porcine rubulavirus (rHN-PorPV) candidate vaccine on pregnant sows, and the protective efficacy afforded to their 7-day- old suckling piglets against PRV lethal challenge. Three sows were immunized with rHN-PorPV formulated with immune-stimulating complex (ISCOMs) and two sows with rHN- PorPV protein alone as well as a mock-immunized pregnant sow (negative control). Quantitative ELISA detected a high concentration of anti-rHN-PorPV Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies in sow sera after the second dose of vaccine administered on day 14 until farrowing, showing viral-neutralizing and cross-neutralization activity against different variants of PRV. Sera samples from piglets of immunized sows (with or without adjuvant), showed high concentrations of IgG antibodies. As expected, piglets from the negative control sow (n=5), exhibited severe signs of disease and 100% of mortality after PRV challenge study. Conversely, 75% and 87.5% of the piglets born from the rHN-PorPV and the rHN-PorPV-ISCOMs-immunized sows (n= 8), survived, respectively, showing milder PRV clinical signs. Our data indicate that rHN-PorPV candidate vaccine produced in Escherichia coli induces efficient humoral response in pregnant sows and that the maternally derived immunity provides high protection to suckling piglets against PRV lethal challenge
The LDH/Ru was prepared using the co-precipitation method, which was highly efficient producing a layered double hydroxide with a high amount of ruthenium (13% wt). The full characterization of this hydrotalcite (LDH/Ru) was carried out by powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and by scanning electron microscopy with EDS detector (SEM-EDS). Also, the catalytic activity of LDH/Ru was studied in hydrogenation (HCOOH/Et3N) and transfer hydrogenation (IPA/H2O) reactions of levulinic acid to produce the -valerolactone and ketones to generate the corresponding alcohols with moderate to good yields. The LDH/Ru was recycled up to five times in the transfer hydrogenation of ketones (IPA/H2O) and two times in the levulinic acid hydrogenation with the HCOOH/Et3N system without significant losses in its catalytic activity
Co-expression gene network analysis reveals novel regulatory pathways involved in porto-sinusoidal vascular disease
[Background & Aims] Porto-sinusoidal vascular disease (PSVD) is a rare vascular liver disease of unknown etiology that causes portal hypertension. It usually affects young individuals and shortens live expectancy. The deregulated pathways involved in PSVD development are unknown and therefore we lack curative treatments. The purpose of this study was to integrate transcriptomic and clinical data by comprehensive network-based modeling in order to uncover altered biological processes in patients with PSVD.[Methods] We obtained liver tissue samples from 20 consecutive patients with PSVD and 21 sex- and age-matched patients with cirrhosis and 13 histologically normal livers (HNL) (initial cohort) and performed transcriptomic analysis. Microarray data were analyzed using weighted gene correlation network analysis to identify clusters of highly correlated genes differently expressed in patients with PSVD. We next evaluated the molecular pathways enriched in patients with PSVD and the core-related genes from the most significantly enriched pathways in patients with PSVD. Our main findings were validated using RNA sequencing in a different cohort of PSVD, cirrhosis and HNL (n = 8 for each group).[Results] Patients with PSVD have a distinctive genetic profile enriched mainly in canonical pathways involving hemostasis and coagulation but also lipid metabolism and oxidative phosphorylation. Serpin family (SERPINC1), the apolipoproteins (APOA, APOB, APOC), ATP synthases (ATP5G1, ATP5B), fibrinogen genes (FGB, FGA) and alpha-2-macroglobulin were identified as highly connective genes that may have an important role in PSVD pathogenesis.[Conclusion] PSVD has a unique transcriptomic profile and we have identified deregulation of pathways involved in vascular homeostasis as the main pathogenic event of disease development.
[Lay summary] Porto-sinusoidal vascular disease is a rare but life-shortening disease that affects mainly young people. Knowledge of the disrupted pathways involved in its development will help to identify novel therapeutic targets and new treatments. Using a systems biology approach, we identify that pathways regulating endothelial function and tone may act as drivers of porto-sinusoidal vascular disease. This study was supported by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III FIS PI17/00398, the Ministry of Education and Science, Spain (SAF-2016-75767-R); Agència de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (AGAUR-SGR2017-517) a grant from Generalitat de Catalunya, Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) and Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Enfermedades Hepáticas y Digestivas (CIBERehd), funded by Instituto de Salud Carlos III. MicroRNA expression profiling and DNA methylation signature for deregulated microRNA in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma
MicroRNAs usually regulate gene expression negatively, and aberrant expression has been involved in the development of several types of cancers. Microarray profiling of microRNA expression was performed to define a microRNA signature in a series of mycosis fungoides tumor stage (MFt, n=21) and CD30+ primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (CD30+ cALCL, n=11) samples in comparison with inflammatory dermatoses (ID, n=5). Supervised clustering confirmed a distinctive microRNA profile for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) with respect to ID. A 40 microRNA signature was found in MFt including upregulated onco-microRNAs (miR-146a, miR-142-3p/5p, miR-21, miR-181a/b, and miR-155) and downregulated tumor-suppressor microRNAs (miR-200ab/429 cluster, miR-10b, miR-193b, miR-141/200c, and miR-23b/27b). Regarding CD30+ cALCL, 39 differentially expressed microRNAs were identified. Particularly, overexpression of miR-155, miR-21, or miR-142-3p/5p and downregulation of the miR-141/200c clusters were observed. DNA methylation in microRNA gene promoters, as expression regulatory mechanism for deregulated microRNAs, was analyzed using Infinium 450K array and approximately one-third of the differentially expressed microRNAs showed significant DNA methylation differences. Two different microRNA methylation signatures for MFt and CD30+ cALCL were found. Correlation analysis showed an inverse relationship for microRNA promoter methylation and microRNA expression. These results reveal a subgroup-specific epigenetically regulated microRNA signatures for MFt and CD30+ cALCL patients

Rich oleocanthal and oleacein extra virgin olive oil and inflammatory and antioxidant status in people with obesity and prediabetes. The APRIL study: A randomised, controlled crossover study
Background: Oleocanthal and oleacein are olive oil phenolic compounds with well known anti inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. The main evidence, however, is provided by experimental
studies. Few human studies have examined the health benefits of olive oils rich in these biophenols. Our
aim was to assess the health properties of rich oleocanthal and oleacein extra virgin olive oil (EVOO),
compared to those of common olive oil (OO), in people with prediabetes and obesity.
Methods: Randomised, double-blind, crossover trial done in people aged 40e65 years with obesity (BMI
30e40 kg/m2
) and prediabetes (HbA1c 5.7e6.4%). The intervention consisted in substituting for 1 month
the oil used for food, both raw and cooked, by EVOO or OO. No changes in diet or physical activity were
recommended. The primary outcome was the inflammatory status. Secondary outcomes were the
oxidative status, body weight, glucose handling and lipid profile. An ANCOVA model adjusted for age, sex
and treatment administration sequence was used for the statistical analysis.
Results: A total of 91 patients were enrolled (33 men and 58 women) and finished the trial. A decrease in
interferon-g was observed after EVOO treatment, reaching inter-treatment differences (P ¼ 0.041). Total
antioxidant status increased and lipid and organic peroxides decreased after EVOO treatment, the
changes reaching significance compared to OO treatment (P < 0.05). Decreases in weight, BMI and blood
glucose (p < 0.05) were found after treatment with EVOO and not with OO.
Conclusions: Treatment with EVOO rich in oleocanthal and oleacein differentially improved oxidative
and inflammatory status in people with obesity and prediabetes.Funding for open access charge: Universidad de Málaga/CBU
