Government Agencies are important organizations in relation to good governance and development of the country. Employee performance should be the main aspect that must be considered by government agencies. There were so many factors affecting the performance of employees. In order to achieve the desired performance, these factors must be considered. This study would discuss three factors which may have an effect on the performance of BAPPEDA employees in East Florest District. The three factors were staff placement, workplace environment, and motivation. Staff placements, as a mechanism of Human Resources Management, is one important process in optimizing the organization's human resources. Staff placement processes can affect the performance of employees, for good placement processes would optimize the utilization of human resources to achieve organizational goals. Suitable workplace environment was also needed so that employees could work comfortably. Moreover, the level of motivation was also an important aspect, because the presence of high motivation would make the employees work more diligently and enthusiastically to achieve high productivity. The purpose of this study was (1) to know whether staff placements, physical work environment, and work motivation simultanously had any effect on the performance of civil servants of BAPPEDA in East Flores , and (2) to know whether staff placement, physical work environment, and work motivation individually had any effect on the performance of civil servants of BAPPEDA in East Flores. The method used in this study was quantitative. The independent variables in this study was placement (X1), physical work environment (X2), and motivation (X3). The dependent variable was employee's performance (Y). The population in this study were civil servants in the East Flores BAPPEDA office . The whole population, numbering 28, was used as respondents. The data was collected through questionnaires and observation. Analysis of the data used cross table analysis (crosstab). The results showed that (1) placement, physical workplace environment, and motivation simultaneusly affected employee's performance at the East Flores BAPPEDA Office, and (2) staff placement, physical workplace environment, and motivation individually also affected employee's performance at the East Flores BAPPEDA Office

A simulation of the profile of holographically recorded structures in photoresists is performed. In addition to its simplicity this simulation can he used to take into account the effects that arise from exposure, photosensitization, development, and resolution of positive photoresists. We analyzed the effects of isotropy of wet development, nonlinearity of the photoresist response curve, background light, and standing waves produced by reflection at the film-substrate interface by using this simulation, and the results agree with the experimentally recorded profiles.34459760

    Pareto Autonomous Local Search

    Get PDF
This paper presents a study for the dynamic selection of operators in a local search process. The main purpose is to propose a generic autonomous local search method which manages operator selection from a set of available operators, built on neighborhood relations and neighbor selection functions, using the concept of Pareto dominance with respect to quality and diversity. The latter is measured using two different metrics. This control method is implemented using the Comet language in order to be easily introduced in various constraint local search algorithms. Focusing on permutation-based problems, experimental results are provided for the QAP and ATSP to assess the method’s effectiveness

Subsequently, the hospital system should become far more competitive with supply chains having to react to these changes as patient demand becomes less predictable. Using a qualitative case study methodology, hospital managers are interviewed on a range of issues. Views on the development of the hospital supply chain in different phases are derived, and are used to develop a map of the current hospital chain. The findings show hospital managers anticipating some significant changes to the hospital supply chain and its workings as Patient Choice expands. The research also maps the various aspects of the hospital supply chain as it moves through different operational phases and highlights underlying challenges and complexities. The hospital supply chain, as discussed and mapped in this research, is original work given there are no examples in the literature that provide holistic representations of hospital activity. At the end, specific recommendations are provided that will be of interest to service to managers, researchers, and policymakers

Sex and menopausal status influence human dietary requirements for the nutrient choline

    Get PDF
Background: Although humans require dietary choline for methyl donation, membrane function, and neurotransmission, choline can also be derived from the de novo synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, which is up-regulated by estrogen. A recommended Adequate Intake (AI) exists for choline; however, an Estimated Average Requirement has not been set because of a lack of sufficient human data. Objective: The objective of the study was to evaluate the dietary requirements for choline in healthy men and women and to investigate the clinical sequelae of choline deficiency. Design: Fifty-seven adult subjects (26 men, 16 premenopausal women, 15 postmenopausal women) were fed a diet containing 550 mg choline · 70 kg-1 · d-1 for 10 d followed by <50 mg choline · 70 kg-1 · d-1 with or without a folic acid supplement (400 μg/d per randomization) for up to 42 d. Subjects who developed organ dysfunction during this diet had normal organ function restored after incremental amounts of choline were added back to the diet. Blood and urine were monitored for signs of toxicity and metabolite concentrations, and liver fat was assessed by using magnetic resonance imaging. Results: When deprived of dietary choline, 77% of men and 80% of postmenopausal women developed fatty liver or muscle damage, whereas only 44% of premenopausal women developed such signs of organ dysfunction. Moreover, 6 men developed these signs while consuming 550mgcholine · 70 kg-1 · d -1, the AI for choline. Folic acid supplementation did not alter the subjects' response. Conclusion: Subject characteristics (eg, menopausal status) modulated the dietary requirement for choline, and a daily intake at the current AI was not sufficient to prevent organ dysfunction in 19 of the subjects
