Light harvesting in solar cells using natural pigments from red fruits adsorbed to mesoporous TiO2

Nature has developed strategies to present us with a wide variety of colours, from the green of leaves to the bright colours seen in flowers. Anthocyanins are between these natural pigments that are responsible for the great diversity of colours seen in flowers and fruits. Anthocyanins have been used to sensitize titanium dioxide (TiO2) in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs). DSSCs have become one of the most popular research topic in photovoltaic cells due to their low production costs when compared to other alternatives. DSSCs are inspired in what happens in nature during photosynthesis. A primary charge separation is achieved by means of a photoexcited dye capable of performing the electron injection into the conduction band of a wide band-gap semiconductor, usually TiO2. With this work we aimed to synthesize a novel mesoporous TiO2 structure as the semiconductor in order to increase the dye loading. We used natural occurring dyes such as anthocyanins and their synthetic flavylium relatives, as an alternative to the widely used metal complexes of Ru(II) which are expensive and are environmentally unsafe. This offers not only the chance to use safer dyes for DSSCs, but also to take profit of waste biological products, such as wine and olive oil production residues that are heavily loaded with anthocyanin dyes. We also performed a photodegradation study using TiO2 as the catalyst to degrade dye contaminants, such as those from the wine production waste, by photo-irradiation of the system in the visible region of the light spectrum. We were able to succeed in the synthesis of mesoporous TiO2 both powder and thin film, with a high capacity to load a large amount of dye. We proved the concept of photodegradation using TiO2 as catalyst. And finally, we show that wine production waste is a possible dye source to DSSCs application

Animation and childhood: participation of children in the creation of narratives for animation

The contributions of child and pre-teen audiences for the creation of their own contents allows their voice to be heard and their opinions to be considered. In view of understanding the younger generations participatory methods and the making of narrative, it is necessary to consider the nature of their creative processes as it englobes different fields and strategies, such as drawing and music. Gosma! is a project focused in the production of an animated short film by a group of master students at Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave, whose narrative creation involved children’s participation through interactive strategies. This article will reflect upon the participatory and ludic methods focused on the narrative construction for animation, observing their impact on the script construction for the animation short film Gosma!

Relatório de estágio na Booktailors

O presente relatório propõe-se descrever as atividades por mim desenvolvidas ao longo do estágio curricular que realizei na Booktailors, entre setembro de 2018 e fevereiro de 2019, para efeitos de conclusão do Mestrado em Estudos Editoriais da Universidade de Aveiro. É neste contexto que se fundamenta este trabalho, dividido em duas partes essenciais: a primeira dedicada à apresentação da entidade acolhedora, e a segunda à descrição das atividades realizadas e respetiva reflexão acerca dos resultados obtidos.This report intends to describe the activities I developed during my internship at Booktailors, between September 2018 and February 2019, for the purpose of completing my master’s degree in Publishing Studies at the University of Aveiro. Saying to be a teacher / teacher in writing: authorship and dialogism in the internship reports

Tomando como referência a perspectiva bakhtiniana da produção enunciativa, este artigo problematiza os dizeres dos estudantes-estagiários de um curso de Pedagogia sobre suas experiências na escola básica. Trata-se de uma pesquisa participante, de vertente analítico -interpretativa, na qual a geração de dados se desenvolveu no contexto das disciplinas do eixo teórico-prático do curso, nos anos de 2017 e de 2019. Entendendo o gênero relatório de estágio como um gênero secundário, da esfera acadêmica, em que o discurso científico é valorizado e legitimado, procurou-se problematizar os modos de dizer dos estudantes em seus enunciados escritos. Ao tomarem a autoria de seus relatos de experiência, seus diferentes acentos valorativos indiciam diversas vozes com as quais dialogam tornando visíveis sua busca pela inserção autoral. No processo de apropriação da palavra do outro os enunciados expressam de forma viva as muitas vozes com quem dialogam na formação inicial docente.Choosing the Bakhtinian perspective of enunciative production as a reference, this article aims at problematizing the speaking’s of trainee – students, from a Pedagogy course at a public university in the state of São Paulo, regarding their experiences in elementary school with students and teachers. It is about participatory approach research, with an interpretive analytical aspect, in which the generation of data was developed in the context of the disciplines, on the theoretical-practical aspect of the course forma-tion, in the years 2017 and 2019. Understanding that the internship report genre it is configured as a secondary genre, placed in the academic sphere in which scientific discourse is usually valued and legitimized, we tried to problematize the many ways of saying the students in their written statements. In their discursive production, by taking the authorship of their experience reports in the schools where they intern, their different valuing intonations indicate the different voices as the dialogue, at the same time that make their search for author insertion visible. In the process of appropriating the word of the other, the utterances vividly express the many voices with whom they dialogue in the initial teacher development

PERCURSOS DE LETRAMENTO DE PROFESSORES DAS SÉRIES INICIAIS DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL: O PAPEL DA HISTÓRIA ORAL NO ESTUDO DA MEMÓRIA DE LEITURAS

Nesse artigo apresento resultados parciais de um projeto temático de pesquisa em andamento que tem, como um de seus focos, a reconstrução das memórias de leitura dos professores em formação.  Discuto as contribuições da perspectiva teórico-metodológica da História Oral neste estudo e destaco o modo como nossa equipe de investigação compreende a narrativa e como a analisa dentro da abordagem apresentada. Alguns trechos de depoimentos são problematizados com a finalidade de mostrar a importância de tomarmos a singularidade de cada dizer, evitando, com isso categoriza-lo ou enquadrá-lo em determinadas comunidades de leitores. Ao final, destaco nosso papel como pesquisadores na preservação dessa singularidade constitutiva de cada narrativa

Implicações da exposição à violência interparental nas crianças

Projeto de Graduação apresentado à Universidade Fernando Pessoa como parte dos requisitos para obtenção do grau de Licenciada em CriminologiaO presente estudo tem como título “Implicações da exposição à violência interparental nas crianças”, do qual se pretende a elaboração de uma proposta de um projeto de investigação, tendo este como principal objetivo analisar e compreender quais os efeitos que esta exposição terá na vida das crianças e jovens. Este estudo está dividido em duas grandes partes: parte teórica e parte empírica. Relativamente à primeira parte (parte teórica) é apresentada uma pesquisa bibliográfica no qual se dá a conhecer a concetualização da violência interparental, o impacto da violência interparental e variáveis mediadoras do impacto da mesma. Quanto à segunda fase deste projeto, proceder-se-á à realização de um estudo empírico que será de caráter descritivo e transversal tendo uma natureza quantitativa. A amostra seria composta por dois grupos contrastantes que incluem 12 jovens em cada grupo. O estudo recorre a entrevistas semiestruturadas que seriam feitas a 24 jovens com idades compreendidas entre os 12 e os 18 anos de idade, 12 que se encontrem sinalizados pela CPCJ (Comissão de Proteção de Crianças e Jovens) ou então que se encontrem acolhidos em algum Centro de Acolhimento Temporário e a 12 jovens que não teriam sido até então sinalizados por estas entidades. Estas entrevistas visam a obtenção de dados para futuramente serem criados programas de prevenção, bem como perceber se a exposição à violência interparental estará relacionado com uma futura carreira criminal. Através do estudo proposto, espera-se que seja possível evidenciar em concreto as consequências que a exposição interparental podem ter no desenvolvimento de comportamentos delinquentes.The present study has the title “Implicações da exposição à violência interparental nas crianças”, which it is intended to prepare a proposal for a research project, where the main objective is to analyse and understand what effects of this exposure will have on the lives of children and young people. This study is divided in two main parts: theoretical part and empirical part. Relatively to the first part (theoretical part) is presented a bibliographic research in which it makes known the conceptualization of interparental violence, the impact of interparental violence and variables mediating the impact of it. As for the second phase of this project, an empirical study will be carried out, which will be of a descriptive and transversal nature having a quantitative nature. The sample consisted of two contrasting groups that included 12 young people in each group. The study uses semi-structured interviews that would be done to 24 young people between the ages of 12 and 18, 12 who are signaled by the CPCJ (Comissão de Proteção de Crianças e Jovens) or who are hosted in some Center of Temporary Reception and to 12 young people who would not have been hitherto signaled by these entities. These interviews are aimed at obtaining data to create prevention programs in the future, as well as to understand if the exposure to interparental violence will be related to a future criminal career. Through the proposed study, it is expected that it will be possible to show in concrete the consequences that the interparental exposure can have in the development of delinquent behaviours.N/

O ENSINO NA EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR: DIMENSÕES DA LINGUAGEM ESCRITA NA FORMAÇÃO DE PROFESSORES

The present study is a result of a research which discusses the education issue at the University level having as a theoretical background the Cultural History and the Sciences of Language. The educational process is understood here as a social and cultural practice built throughout the human history. Considering my professional condition as a teacher at the Pedagogy Course at Universidade Estadual de Campinas – UNICAMP – I suggest here analyze some texts written by students – future teachers – about their experiences as trainee at the comprehensive school, considering the objectiveness of the language in this process. The analyzed texts embrace the period of 2000 to 2009. I have chosen to discuss aspects that bring the main concerns about the work of a docent, having in mind the complexity of the relationships produced among the subjects involved in a daily school practice.http://dx.doi.org/10.14572/nuances.v20i21.1097Este trabalho aborda o tema do ensino na educação superior. O estudo parte da condição concreta de minha inserção como professora do curso de Pedagogia em uma universidade do estado de São Paulo, levando em conta as disciplinas do eixo teórico-prático do currículo por mim lecionadas no período de 2000 a 2009. Bridging book: protótipo de livro híbrido para crianças

Apresentamos o protótipo Bridging Book, um livro híbrido para crianças que consiste num livro impresso que funciona em conjunto com um dispositivo digital, sendo que o folheamento do livro físico desencadeia conteúdos adicionais no tablet. Este sistema baseia-se na leituras de campos magnéticos induzidos por ímanes embutidos nas folhas de papel que são lidos pelo magnetómetro do dispositivo, dispensando a utilização de fios ou energia. Nesta versão, as ilustrações impressas estendem-se para o ecrã do tablet, fornecendo mais interação ao utilizador para além do folheamento do livro físico
