The global pandemic caused by COVID-19 has meant a great change in education since teachers worldwide have had to face the problem of having to undertake online training without adequate preparation or means. In view of this, the fourth industrial revolution, has begun to establish itself strongly as pedagogical support and there are already many governments that are pursuing changes in educational policies that insert a digital education that fragments education and prepares students for the jobs in the 21st century so this revolution is not only imminent but necessary

The present research was done during the second semester of 2004 in order to evaluate viability of passionfruit seed stored in different containers and temperature. A factorial (2X3) complete randomized design with four replicates for each treatment was used, factor A was container: plastic bag (PB) and hard plastic (HP); while factor B stands for cold room (CR, 5±1°C and 38±2% RH), freezer (F, 5±2 °C and 78% RH) and room temperature (RT, 24°C and 32.2°C). The evaluated variables were germination (%), vigor (%) and seed humidity (%) at 0, 30 60, 90 and 120 days after storage (DAS). The highest germination and vigor percentages were observed at 60 and 90 DAS using PB stored in CR and F. These treatment combination kept seed quality without any sign of deterioration.

Variables Influencing the Accuracy of 3D Modeling of Existing Roads Using Consumer Cameras in Aerial Photogrammetry

Point cloud (PC) generation from photogrammetry–remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) at high spatial and temporal resolution and accuracy is of increasing importance for many applications. For several years, photogrammetry–RPAS has been used to recover civil engineering works such as digital elevation models (DEMs), triangle irregular networks (TINs), contour levels, orthophotographs, etc. This study analyzes the influence of variables involved in the accuracy of PC generation over asphalt shapes and determines the most influential variable based on the development of an artificial neural network (ANN) with patterns identified in the test flights. The input variables were those involved, and output was the three-dimension root mean square error (3D-RMSE) of the PC in each ground control point (GCP). The result of the study shows that the most influential variable over PC accuracy is the modulation transfer function 50 (MTF50). In addition, the study obtained an average 3D-RMSE of 1 cm. The results can be used by the scientific and civil engineering communities to consider MTF50 variables in obtaining images from RPAS cameras and to predict the accuracy of a PC over asphalt based on the ANN developed. Also, this ANN could be the beginning of a large database containing patterns from several cameras and lenses in the world market. The article processing charge (APC) was funded by the Research Group “Ingeniería Cartográfica” (Grant No. PAIDI-TEP-164 from the Regional Government of Andalucía) from the University of Jaén

The excavation of the megalithic complex of the Peña Oviedo, pretends to be the beginning of a larger study that approaches the megalithic phenomenon in the global River basins of the Deva and Nansa rivers. The total lack of knowledge of the megalithic phenomenon, but not even of its existence in these mountain valleys of western Cantabria, requires a study that reveals its characteristics and relations with neighboring areas

Architecture of the ESCPE-1 membrane coat

    Get PDF
Recycling of membrane proteins enables the reuse of receptors, ion channels and transporters. A key component of the recycling machinery is the endosomal sorting complex for promoting exit 1 (ESCPE-1), which rescues transmembrane proteins from the endolysosomal pathway for transport to the trans-Golgi network and the plasma membrane. This rescue entails the formation of recycling tubules through ESCPE-1 recruitment, cargo capture, coat assembly and membrane sculpting by mechanisms that remain largely unknown. Herein, we show that ESCPE-1 has a single-layer coat organization and suggest how synergistic interactions between ESCPE-1 protomers, phosphoinositides and cargo molecules result in a global arrangement of amphipathic helices to drive tubule formation. Our results thus define a key process of tubule-based endosomal sorting. This work was funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 (PID2020- 119132GB-I00, CEX2021-001136-S) (to A.H.), the Intramural Program of NICHD, NIH (ZIA HD001607 to J.S.B.), the Swiss National Science Foundation grant 205321 179041 (to D.C.-D.), the Human Frontiers Science Program grant RGP0017/2020 (to D.C.-D.) and the PID2021- 127309NB-I00 funded by AEI/10.13039/501100011033/ FEDER, UE (to D.C.-D.). Book Review: \u3ci\u3eSuperstitious Regimes\u3c/i\u3e by Rebecca Nedostup

Superstitious Regimes is an interdisciplinary work that sheds new light on the interaction between the state-body and the religion-body in early twentieth-century China, with a focus on the Nanjing Decade (1927-1937). Nedostup develops her analysis from both a diachronic and synchronic perspective. The author underlines shifts and continuities between a few historical periods: Sun Yat-sen’s time, the early years of the Nanjing Decade, the late years of the Nanjing Decade, and the post-Nanjing Decade. Nedostup’s interdisciplinary study is of interest for a large readership: students and scholars of Chinese studies, Chinese politics, Chinese religions, and Chinese history would all benefit from reading this book, both for its contents and for the research methodologies that the author adopted
