On application of least-delay variation problem in ethernet networks using SDN concept

The goal of this paper is to present an application idea of SDN in Smart Grids, particularly, in the area of L2 multicast as defined by IEC 61850-9-2. Authors propose an Integer Linear Formulation (ILP) dealing with a Least-Delay-Variation multicast forwarding problem that has a potential to utilize Ethernet networks in a new way. The proposed ILP formulation is numerically evaluated on random graph topologies and results are compared to a shortest path tree approach that is traditionally a product of Spanning Tree Protocols. Results confirm the correctness of the ILP formulation and illustrate dependency of a solution quality on the selected graph models, especially, in a case of scale-free topologies

Thermodynamics of the steam cycle of nuclear power plants

Práce je zaměřena ve své první části na odvození vztahů pro popis tepelných oběhů, následně na rozbor ideálního Carnotova a zejména parního Rankin-Clausiova oběhu. U Rankin-Clausiova oběhu jsou zmíněny způsoby zvyšování termodynamické účinnosti se zaměřením na jeho použití v jaderných elektrárnách k výrobě elektrické energie. Druhá část práce popisuje jednotlivé typy jaderných reaktorů, jejich konstrukci, způsob chlazení a výrobu páry. V závěru práce jsou zmíněny vyvíjené reaktory IV. generace.In the first part, the bachelor thesis is focused on derivation of relations that describe thermal cycles. Then, there is an analysis of the ideal Carnot cycle and the Rankine cycle. The ways of increasing the thermodynamic efficiency of Rankine cycle are mentioned, especially the ones that are focused on generating of electricity in nuclear power plants. The second part describes different types of nuclear reactors, their design, the cooling methods and the steam production. The development of the generation IV. nuclear reactors is mentioned at the end of the bachelor thesis.

Grate Boiler for Wood Chips Combustion

Práce se věnuje návrhu parního kotle s přirozenou cirkulací vody, ve kterém se spaluje dřevní stěpka. Jedná se o roštový kotel, který má parametry 20 t/h vyrobené páry o teplotě 420 °C a tlaku 5 MPa. Teplota napájecí vody je 125 °C. Práce se postupně věnuje stechiometrickým výpočtům a stanovení účinnosti kotle. Dále se zabývá návrhem ohniště a tepelnými výpočty jednotlivých teplosměnných ploch. V příloze je uvedena výkresová dokumentace kotle.The thesis is dedicated to the design of the steam boiler which burns wood chips, with a natural circulation of the water. It is a grate boiler, which produces 20 t/h of the steam. The output parameters of the steam are 420 °C and 5 MPa. The feedwater temperature is 125 ° C .The thesis gradually deals with stoichiometric calculations and determines the efficiency of the boiler. Then it describes the design of the fireplace and thermal calculations of each heat transfer surfaces. The appendix includes drawings of the boiler.

Comparing Rapid Type Analysis with Points-To Analysis in GraalVM Native Image

Whole-program analysis is an essential technique that enables advanced compiler optimizations. An important example of such a method is points-to analysis used by ahead-of-time (AOT) compilers to discover program elements (classes, methods, fields) used on at least one program path. GraalVM Native Image uses a points-to analysis to optimize Java applications, which is a time-consuming step of the build. We explore how much the analysis time can be improved by replacing the points-to analysis with a rapid type analysis (RTA), which computes reachable elements faster by allowing more imprecision. We propose several extensions of previous approaches to RTA: making it parallel, incremental, and supporting heap snapshotting. We present an extensive experimental evaluation of the effects of using RTA instead of points-to analysis, in which RTA allowed us to reduce the analysis time for Spring Petclinic, a popular demo application of the Spring framework, by 64% and the overall build time by 35% at the cost of increasing the image size due to the imprecision by 15%
