First-principles investigation of superconductivity in the body-centred tetragonal LaRu2P2
© 2016 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group. We have investigated the ground state and electronic properties of LaRu2P2 in the ThCr2Si2 structure using a generalised gradient approximation of the density functional theory and the ab initio pseudopotential method. We find that the calculated electronic properties of LaRu2P2 exhibit three-dimensional rather than two-dimensional characteristics in spite of the apparent two dimensionality in its atomic structure. An interesting feature of the phonon dispersion curves is the phonon anomaly in the lowest transverse acoustic branch as well as the longitudinal acoustic branch. We have shown that these phonon anomalies give rise to large electron-phonon interaction, as is evident from the calculated Eliashberg spectral function α2) F(ω) By integrating this spectral function, the value of average electron-phonon coupling parameter is calculated to be 0.85, from which the superconducting critical temperature is estimated to be 3.74 K, in gratifying accord with its experimental value of 4.0 K.This work was supported by the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÜB˙ITAK)

Personal protective equipment-related problems experienced by healthcare workers, solutions, and recommendations: A qualitative study
OBJECTIVE To understand the problems experienced by healthcare workers (HCWs) who used personal protective equipment (PPE) on their face during the COVID-19 pandemic, their interventions to prevent these problems, and their recommendations for improving the quality of PPE. METHODS This descriptive and qualitative study included HCWs (N = 29) from health institutions at different levels in Turkey. Researchers collected data using a semistructured data collection form (13 items) and in-depth individual interviews. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and qualitative inductive content analysis. RESULTS Of the 29 participants, 15 (51.7%) were women, and 18 (62.1%) were nurses. Participants' answers regarding problems related to PPE use were grouped into four main categories, answers regarding the prevention of these problems were grouped into three main categories, and answers regarding improving the quality of PPE were grouped into three main categories. Skin concerns were the most commonly reported problems related to PPE, and interventions to prevent these problems primarily related to skin protection and care. Recommendations to improve the quality of PPE focused on using materials for masks and face shields that reduce pressure and friction; participants also suggested that face shields be produced in sterile and disposable packages. CONCLUSIONS This research indicates that HCWs need support and they are able to create individual solutions for the problems with PPE that they experience. Skin-friendly PPE that ensures the safety and comfort of HCWs should be produced, and hospitals should develop policies for institutional use to prevent PPE injury
Characterization of dyestuffs and metals from selected 16-17th-century ottoman silk brocades by RP-HPLC-DAD and FESEM-EDX (Article)
In this study, the analysis of dyestuff and metal thread samples present in the 16-17th-century Ottoman silk textile samples were performed by HPLC-DAD (high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode array detection) and FESEM-EDX (field emission scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersion spectroscopy). HPLC-DAD was used for the identification of dyestuffs in different plants and insects such as weld, dyer's oak, walloon oak, woad, indigo, madder, young fustic, and cochineal. Silk yarns with yellow, blue, orange, brown, red, and green colors were selected for the analysis. One of the most useful procedures for fast and simple determination of specific metals of interest is FESEM-EDX. This is a simple method that provides information on chemical composition of sample surfaces and chemical analysis of metal threads. © 2015 Copyright Taylor & Francis Group, LLC
From the Morphology of Skin Lesions to Diagnosis : Inspection is Like Reading a Book
The author and contact oinformation go at the end of the paper. Skin diseases, unlike afflictions of other organ systems, can be readily seen and may present with a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors. Dermatologic lesions are sometimes artistic, but it is not known why they may have various appearances. Such variations may include groups of papules, vesicles, pustules, and comedones, as well as keloids and granulomas, all of which may give the appearance of being round
Association of FTO common variant (rs9939609) with body fat in Turkish individuals
Variations in the fat mass and obesity-associated (FTO) gene (16q12.2) are associated with obesity in some populations. This study aimed to determine the relationship between FTO gene polymorphism and adiposity&related markers in Turkish adults was aimed
Wykonywanie przeglądu danych przez nowoczesny algorytm obliczeniowy do wykrywania widoków obiektów
In this study, an image processing was performed with a software developed in Python programming language by capturing object views. In this context, an algorithm was created to calculate the amount of substance in a particular container at a fixed camera angle; the measured substance amount as information was sent to smart devices operating with Android Systems. The amount of information transmitted was shown in the user interface as the form of a percentile, thanks to an algorithm and the developed program. The algorithm in this software performs cropping and conversion to black and white format on the captured photo using image processing steps, and it calculates by scanning the black areas and proportionally these values to the area of the container, giving information about the level of the substance. It is possible to use the developed software as an alternative detection and evaluation system for object detection, image processing, and level control processes.W badaniu przetwarzanie obrazu zostało wykonane za pomocą oprogramowania opracowanego w języku programowania Python poprzez przechwytywanie widoków obiektów. W tym kontekście stworzono algorytm do obliczania ilości substancji w konkretnym pojemniku przy stałym kącie kamery; zmierzona ilość substancji jako informacja została wysłana do inteligentnych urządzeń działających z systemami Android. Ilość przesyłanych informacji została pokazana w interfejsie użytkownika w postaci percentyla dzięki opracowanemu algorytmowi i programowi. Algorytm w tym oprogramowaniu wykonuje kadrowanie i konwersję do formatu czarno-białego na przechwyconym zdjęciu za pomocą etapów przetwarzania obrazu, oblicza, skanując, czarne obszary i proporcjonalnie te wartości do obszaru pojemnika, podając informacje o poziomie substancji. Możliwe jest wykorzystanie opracowanego oprogramowania jako alternatywnego systemu detekcji i oceny procesów detekcji obiektów, przetwarzania obrazu i kontroli poziomu
Papulosquamous Annular Diseases
Papulosquamous diseases represent a commonly encountered group of cutaneous disorders in dermatology. Lesions can present with papules and plaques in various configurations, including annular forms. Some of these disorders are expected to appear in annular configurations, such as pityriasis rosea and subcorneal pustular dermatosis. Others may either begin as or even progress to annular configurations, including psoriasis vulgaris, seborrheic dermatitis, and nummular dermatitis. We have reviewed common papulosquamous diseases that can present with annular lesions, which includes psoriasis vulgaris, pityriasis rosea, subcorneal pustular dermatosis, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, and nummular dermatitis. For each disorder, we have discussed the details of presentation and differential diseases to be considered
