Development of IoT Based Mobile Robot for Automated Guided Vehicle Application
Mobile robot has been one of the researches focuses in this era due to the demands in automation. Many industry players have been using mobile robot in their industrial plant for the purpose of reducing manual labour as well as ensuring more efficient and systematic process. The mobile robot for industrial usage is typically called as Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). The advances in the navigation technology allows the AGV to be used for many tasks such as for carrying load to pre-determined locations sent from mobile app, stock management and pallet handling. More recently, the concept of Industry 4.0 has been widely practiced in the industries, where important process data are exchange over the internet for an improved management. This paper will therefore discuss the development of Internet of Things (IoT) bases mobile robot for AGV application. In this project a mobile robot platform is designed and fabricated. The robot is controlled to navigate from one location to another using line following mechanism. Mobile App is designed to communicate with the robot through the Internet of Things (IoT). RFID tags are used to identify the locations predetermined by user. The results show that the prototype is able to follow line and go to any location that was preregistered from the App through the IoT. The mobile robot is also able to avoid collision and any obstacles that exist on its way to perform any task inside the workplace
Conflict And Conflict Management In Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia in the year 2001 is a region still beset by domestic conflicts and international tensions. This is despite the long experience the Southeast Asian countries have had in managing conflicts and maintaining inter-state relations, and also despite a period of economic boom in the early to mid 1990s which have resulted in relative peace and stability for the region
Kinetic Analysis of the Existing Models of Methanol Steam Reforming for Hydrogen Production
Steam Reforming of Methanol (SRM) reaction has been highly developed and
thoroughly studied process. Liwei Pan (2005) stated that it can offer the highest
maximum hydrogen content in the product gas (75%) while maintaining a high
selectivity towards the harmful product carbon dioxide. SRM thus now becomes the
world's new potential technique of producing hydrogen gas by reacting methanol and
steam at certain optimum temperature. Hydrogen gas is now becoming an increasingly
important source of fuel for today which is widely used for the Proton Exchange
Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC) and it also used by various industrial processes. As a
result, many researchers have been seriously studying the kinetics of the SRM in order
to investigate the nature of the process and then develop the best way to produce
hydrogen gas through steam reforming technique. This research will attempt to study the
two widely accepted kinetic models of SRM proposed by two authors; Peppley and
Patel & Pant. Both of the authors have proposed two different models pertaining to the
mechanism of the SRM. Since the models are already available, comparison will be
made by taking both models into simulation mode. The Microsoft Excel software will be
used to simulate kinetic models and the concentration profile as well as the kinetic rate
profile will be compared.
In this report, the literature reviews of the various journals are made pertaining to
the steam reforming of methanol in the study of hydrogen production. Matters such as
the reaction path proposed by different authors, the discussion about the newly
developed proton exchanged membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), thermodynamics
consistency, carbon monoxide (CO) formation associated to the steam reforming of
methanol and also the preventive action to minimize CO formation is discussed in detail
in the report. Besides that, the expected results are also shown which are obtained by
different authors through experimental and simulation work.
It is learned from the result of the simulation that the Peppley Model is better if
compared to the Patel-Pant Model. The Peppley Model seems to be more robust. It is
because the model is consistent with the local thermodynamic. The Patel-Pant Model
has got inconsistency in it, though it shows some better characteristics compared to the
one of Peppey such as in the flowrate profile as well as in the least production of the
carbon monoxide gas, CO. However, the Peppley model needs to be modified to make it
a better model. The rate expression need to be further simplified as the one proposed by
Purnarna et. al (2004). Last but not least, the WGS reaction rate expression must be
changed so that it can suit the RWGS trend that is actually happening in the Peppley

Management of Stress: Use of Information Systems in Managing Stress Within the Lower Rank Soldiers in a Military Organization
Stress in workplace is not a new phenomenon for it is known to have a negative impact upon the business world as well as to the military organization. Stress is a dynamic condition in which an individual is confronted with an opportunity, constraint or demand related to what he or she desires and for which the outcome is perceived to be both uncertain and important. There are many causes of stress in which few include low morale, sickness and diseases, personal problem, workload, lack of job satisfaction, poor working environment, leadership and change of technology. This thesis studied and researched was conducted to determine the relation of stress having the independent variables, job satisfaction, working environment and utilization of technology (HRIS). It is desired that this research would provide a positive input in the process of management of stress of the lower rank soldiers, especially to the Commanding Officer and officers as leaders in the military organization
A study on gap between prior job expectation and actual working condition in international semiconductor companies Melaka / Syazwani Kamarulzaman
College or university graduates come into the workplace with expectations that they will obtain satisfied, secure and well-paying employment (Shelley, 1994) mainly based on what they have been taught in their formal education. The aim of this research is to attempt to reveal the difference between what fresh graduates expect and their actual experiences pertaining to the working environment. Besides that it also to identify which factors is the most significant factor for actual working condition with organizational culture, motivation, communication and team work. Hence, this research used primary and secondary data in collection the data as data method. As for the interpretation data, the researcher used correlation coefficient for testing hypothesis, while regression analysis for testing the most significant variables in this research. Using a set of self-administered questionnaires, data were collected from 80 graduates. They were asked to indicate their preference on organizational culture, motivation, communication and team work. Using the same dimensions, the respondents then reported their actual experiences, thus enabling gaps to be determined. Based on the research findings, the factor of organizational culture, motivation, communication and team work have positive correlation with the actual working condition. Then, the motivation factor and team work have significant relationship with actual working condition. While organizational culture and communication are not at level of significant. The results from paired-sample t-tests suggest that there is no significant expectation gaps exist in all the areas surveyed. Lastly, the most significant variable is team work
Sound absorption characteristic of lightweight brick containing Expanded Polystyrene Beads (EPS) and Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA)
The main objectives of this research is to identify the sound absorption characteristic
of lightweight bricks containing expanded polystyrene beads (EPS) and palm oil fuel
ash (POFA). In order to fulfill the standard of a lightweight brick to be used as a
building element, the physical and mechanical properties were test first. EPS was
used as a sand replacement whereas POFA was used as a cement replacement. The
bricks were casted with 0% to 50% of EPS and 0% to 25% of POFA and air cured
for 7, 28 and 56 days. The bricks incorporated with 30%, 40% and 50% of EPS were
considered lightweight bricks as they have a density below 1680 kg/m3
. The lowest
density recorded for the brick sample with the maximum EPS and POFA content was
1320.52 kg/m3
after a curing period of 56 days. Bricks incorporated with varying
percentages of EPS and POFA have strength values between 3.7 MPa to 21.3 MPa
which are acceptable for load bearing and non-load bearing structures. The water
absorption values recorded for these bricks were between 4.37% to 13.4%. The brick
sample with 0% POFA and 50% EPS recorded the lowest water absorption values
while the brick sample with 25% POFA and 0% EPS recorded the highest water
absorption values. For the sound absorption test, at high frequency, the brick
specimen with 25% POFA and 50% EPS recorded the lowest coefficient of 0.009
while the best sound absorption coefficient recorded was 0.467 for the brick sample
with 0% EPS and 10% POFA. At low frequency, the bricks recorded a sound
absorption coefficient of 0.89 to 0.998. Most The brick have excellent absorption at
low frequency and good absorption at high frequency. Lastly, the density properties
and sound absorption coefficient were found to be the most correlated due to the
highest R

value of 0.9259 compared to other properties
The Use of Information Technology in Managing The Supply Chain of Malaysian Palm Oil Industry: The Case of FELDA
This study was carried out to investigate the use of information technology (IT) and
information systems (IS) by Malaysian palm oil industry in managing their supply
chain. This study focused on Felda's palm oil supply chain which comprised of its
subsidiary companies namely Felda Plantations Sdn. Bhd., Felda Palm Industries
Sdn. Bhd., Felda Vegetable Oil Products Sdn. Bhd., Felda Transport Services Sdn.
Bhd. and Felda Marketing Services Sdn. Bhd.. Investigation was also made to
examine the extent of these palm oil companies in managing their primary and
support activities and how IT and IS support those activities to improve the
company's supply chain. In addition, the study was also done to investigate the
utilization of IT and IS in all levels and activities of the company's supply chain.
Data for the study were obtained through close-ended questionnaires that were
mailed to the respondents comprised of managers from Felda's companies that were
involved along supply chain. Data collected from the survey were analyzed using
descriptive analysis, regression analysis, correlation analysis and reliability analysis.Result showed that Felda has effectively managed its primary activities particularly
in estates, palm oil mills and refineries. Felda also has managed its inbound and
outbound logistics as well as its marketing activities effectively. However, the
results revealed that IT has not been fully used to effectively support certain primary
and support activities, particularly in estates operations. However, while IT has
made a lot of contribution to support palm oil mills support activities, it has made
less contribution to support their primary activities. Further, IT has contributed
significantly to support refineries' primary and support activities. At the same time,
the results revealed that IT has effectively support distribution and marketing
activities.
From the findings, several recommendations are given to assist Felda and other palm
oil based companies to enhance the management of their activities along their supply
chain and help them to be more competitive in the industry
