Three-Body approach to the K^- d Scattering Length in Particle Basis

    Get PDF
We report on the first calculation of the scattering length A_{K^-d} based on a relativistic three-body approach where the two-body input amplitudes coupled to the Kbar N channels have been obtained with the chiral SU(3) constraint, but with isospin symmetry breaking effects taken into account. Results are compared with a recent calculation applying a similar set of two-body amplitudes, based on the fixed center approximation, considered as a good approximation for a loosely bound target, and for which we find significant deviations from the exact three-body results. Effects of the hyperon-nucleon interaction, and deuteron DD-wave component are also evaluated.Comment: 5 pages, Submitted to Phys. Rev.

Porous nanostructured InP: technology, properties, application

    No full text
We prepared porous InP (100) substrates with a nanostructured surface relief on which InP epitaxial films were grown. The structure, morphological, and photoluminescence properties of nanostructured substrates and InP epilayers grown on them were studied. These InP epilayers grown on the porous and standard InP substrates were used to make microwave diodes. We showed the advantages of the diodes made on the porous substrates (over those made on the standard ones) caused by higher structural perfection of the InP epilayers grown on the porous substrates

New technological possibilities to prepare InP epitaxial layers, as well as ohmic and barrier contacts to them, and the properties of microwave diodes made on their basis

A novel technological approach to fabrication of n-InP autoepitaxial films LPE-grown on porous n⁺-InP substrates, as well as ohmic and barrier contacts to them using (quasi)amorphous TiBx interstitial phases, is proposed. We demonstrate the advantages of TiBx−n-n⁺-n⁺⁺-InP Schottky-barrier diodes made on porous substrates over those made on the standard rigid substrates, as well as the possibility to make Gunn diodes (intended for the 120−150 GHz frequency range) on the InP epitaxial structures grown on porous substrates

Risk profiles and one-year outcomes of patients with newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation in India: Insights from the GARFIELD-AF Registry.

BACKGROUND: The Global Anticoagulant Registry in the FIELD-Atrial Fibrillation (GARFIELD-AF) is an ongoing prospective noninterventional registry, which is providing important information on the baseline characteristics, treatment patterns, and 1-year outcomes in patients with newly diagnosed non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). This report describes data from Indian patients recruited in this registry. METHODS AND RESULTS: A total of 52,014 patients with newly diagnosed AF were enrolled globally; of these, 1388 patients were recruited from 26 sites within India (2012-2016). In India, the mean age was 65.8 years at diagnosis of NVAF. Hypertension was the most prevalent risk factor for AF, present in 68.5% of patients from India and in 76.3% of patients globally (P < 0.001). Diabetes and coronary artery disease (CAD) were prevalent in 36.2% and 28.1% of patients as compared with global prevalence of 22.2% and 21.6%, respectively (P < 0.001 for both). Antiplatelet therapy was the most common antithrombotic treatment in India. With increasing stroke risk, however, patients were more likely to receive oral anticoagulant therapy [mainly vitamin K antagonist (VKA)], but average international normalized ratio (INR) was lower among Indian patients [median INR value 1.6 (interquartile range {IQR}: 1.3-2.3) versus 2.3 (IQR 1.8-2.8) (P < 0.001)]. Compared with other countries, patients from India had markedly higher rates of all-cause mortality [7.68 per 100 person-years (95% confidence interval 6.32-9.35) vs 4.34 (4.16-4.53), P < 0.0001], while rates of stroke/systemic embolism and major bleeding were lower after 1 year of follow-up. CONCLUSION: Compared to previously published registries from India, the GARFIELD-AF registry describes clinical profiles and outcomes in Indian patients with AF of a different etiology. The registry data show that compared to the rest of the world, Indian AF patients are younger in age and have more diabetes and CAD. Patients with a higher stroke risk are more likely to receive anticoagulation therapy with VKA but are underdosed compared with the global average in the GARFIELD-AF. Effect of microwave treatment on the parameters of Au-TiBx-GaAs(SiC 6H) surface-barrier structures

    No full text
We studied I-V curves of Au-TiBx-n-n⁺-GaAs and Au-TiBx-n-SiC 6Н surface-barrier structures. The structures were exposed to microwave treatments (frequency of 2.45 GHZ, irradiance of 1.5 W/cm², duration of 0-500 s). For these structures we measured how the Schottky barrier height and ideality factor depended on microwave treatment duration. It was shown that microwave treatments whose duration are up to 20 s do not impair the main structure parameters, while those with duration of 0.5-10 s may even improve these parameters

Ordering of lateral nonuniformity of TiBx film and transition layer in the TiBx-GaAs system

For TiBx film ~50 nm thick formed by magnetron sputtering from a pressed target onto the GaAs substrate we experimentally revealed lateral nonuniformity ordering at microwave irradiation (frequency of 2.45 GHz, illuminance of 1.5 W/cm²). This correlates with improvement of the TiBx-n-n⁺-GaAs diode structure parameters after similar microwave treatment
