THREE· DIMENSIONAL STUDY OF STREAMFLOW DEVELOPING AROUND RADIAL WELLS
Based on the completed three dimensional electric analogous studies the following main
points can be established:
1. In case of a radial well sited in an extensiye horizontal layer:
a) the capacity of well is proportional to the 0.87th power of the thickness of the layer,
b) the increase of the number of horizontal pipes with the same total length causes
just a slight decrease in discharge, therefore, when determining the number of horizontal pipes,
they are not the hydraulic aspects which are decisive,
c) limiting the perforation just for the outer half length of the horizontal pipe causes
about a 5% reduction in discharge only.
2. In case of a radial well sited near a river-bed. the horizontal pipe in the direction
opposite to the river-bed can be omitted without any considerable decrease in discharge.
3. The horizontal pipe reaching under the riverbed considerably increases the discharge,
but can result in a rapid colmation.
4. Colmation extends the influence of the well on a longer section of the riyer-bed, that
is why its effect to decrease the discharge develops relatively slowly.
5. Enlightening the development of physical, chemical and biological colmation is by
all means necessary to forecast and delay the "ageing" of wells
Decoration trends in women's clothing in the collections of leading fashion brands
The paper presents the results of the analysis of the latest women's collections of leading fashion brands, such as: Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab, Georges Hobeika, Oscar de la Renta and others. The leading trends in clothing decoration and their forecasting for the next seasons are revealed
Probability Measures and projections on Quantum Logics
The present paper is devoted to modelling of a probability measure of logical
connectives on a quantum logic (QL), via a -map, which is a special map on
it. We follow the work in which the probability of logical conjunction,
disjunction and symmetric difference and their negations for non-compatible
propositions are studied.
We study such a -map on quantum logics, which is a probability measure
of a projection and show, that unlike classical (Boolean) logic, probability
measure of projections on a quantum logic are not necessarilly pure
projections.
We compare properties of a -map on QLs with properties of a probability
measure related to logical connectives on a Boolean algebra
Posterior positional plagiocephaly treated with cranial remodeling orthosis.
Since the recommendation that infants sleep in the supine position, there has been an increase in cases of posterior positional plagiocephaly. Even though this condition is a purely cosmetic problem, if it is severe it may affect the child psychologically. Positioning may help in mild or moderate cases, but more active treatment may be necessary in severe cases.
A prospective study of 260 children treated by dynamic orthotic cranioplasty for posterior positional plagiocephaly was conducted in Lausanne from 1995 to 2001. Construction of these cranial remodelling helmets is decribed in detail.
The treatment lasted 3 months on average, was effective, well tolerated, and had zero morbidity. The ideal period for initiating this therapy is between the ages of 4 and 6 months.
The remodelling helmet is a convincing option which can be recommended in infants with posterior positional plagiocephaly whose skull deformity is not satisfactorily corrected by physiotherapy. It should always be used before surgery is considered for patients with recognised positional plagiocephaly in the first year of life
Developing the Logistics Outsourcing in Ukraine: Improving the Efficiency of Transport Intermediaries in the Odesa Market
The article is aimed at analyzing the activities of transport intermediaries in the Odesa market, systematizing the main problems of their activities and determining the most effective ways of further development. The results of a marketing study on the quality level of services of the transport intermediaries, presented in the Odesa market are presented. In the course of the study with the help of a 5-point scale the activity of 35 companies-carriers was analyzed. For conducting the rating of intermediaries, the expert method of assessment on the basis of 6 indicators was used: «Technical characteristics», «Reliability», «Quality», «Speed of delivery», «Prices», «Autopark». A detailed assessment scale was developed for each indicator. According to results of the study on the market of transport intermediaries of Odesa, six main problems were identified and ways of their solution were submitted. It is determined, that first of all an increase of efficiency as to activity of transport intermediaries and quality of provided services is connected with more intensive use of modern information systems and technologies along with introduction of new systems of staff motivation
The influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on current fashion trends
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the development of modern fashion and its leading trends is analyzed. The aim of the study was to identify changes in clothing design, shape and decoration under the influence of the effects of the pandemic and the restrictions caused by it. The changes that took place in the leading fashion trends of the current and next seasons are studied; the causal relationship of these changes is established
Student estimations of peer alcohol consumption: links between the Social Norms Approach and the Health Promoting University concept.
The Social Norms Approach, with its focus on positive behaviour and its consensus orientation, is a health promotion intervention of relevance to the context of a Health Promoting University. In particular, the approach could assist with addressing excessive alcohol consumption
Multifunctional space of art-relaxation in an educational institution: design concept revision
The study focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of multifunctional art-relaxation rooms in a learning environment. Such rooms become centers for solving several social problems, including overcoming stress not only among students but also among other vulnerable groups-combat veterans, retirees, and children. Implementing them in continuous practice becomes a relevant problem, especially with the consequences of the COVID-2019 pandemic. This study is based on a systematic approach and is interdisciplinary. The original methodology provides the analysis of different forms of relaxation space organizing in the historical context, and the formation of the main design standards for justifying the original concept of environment design. The practical result of the study is the multifunctional space of art-relaxation “Art-Tell-Iya,” which operates permanently at the Lutsk National Technical University (Lutsk, Ukraine). The classes of art relaxation and art therapy for restoring the mental state of ATO/JFO (Joint Forces Operation) veterans, classes for small groups of students, and activities of various artistic orientations are held in this space. The design space helps to improve the psychological state and form new life strategies for a person through art. The authors present their own experience in art-relaxation space designing, which is based on main design standards, such as multifunctionality, aesthetics, and imagery, as well as visual and communicative interactions. From the standpoint of the systematic approach, the art-relaxation space is implemented as a model of world perception and as a powerful visual communicative system aimed at improving a person’s psychological health. This study is an important step in the direction of solving the problem concerning the design of relaxation spaces in educational institutions for different visitors. It forms the base to conduct deeper research that is aimed at identifying connections between the design aspects and the efficiency indexes formation in the context of relaxation processes
Negative Consequences of Substance Use in European University Students: Results from Project SNIPE
Background: University students are a risk group for heavy substance use and the experience of various potentially severe negative substance use consequences which may impact on their health, social, and academic functioning. Whilst the experience of negative consequences of substance use is well understood in North American student samples, there is little data on these experiences in European students. In order to develop effective harm prevention and reduction interventions for students’ substance use, there needs to be an understanding of the types of consequences experienced in European student samples. Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate the prevalence and predictors of the experience of negative substance use-related consequences amongst university students in 7 European countries. Methods: University students (n = 4,482) in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Turkey, and the UK completed an online survey of their substance use behaviours and the experience of associated negative consequences. Results: European students reported that experiencing a hangover or illness, missing class, being short of money, and experiencing memory loss were the most commonly experienced negative consequences of substance use. Not living with other students and using alcohol, cannabis, sedatives, and cocaine were also associated with higher odds of experiencing these negative consequences. Conclusions: In contrast to North American data, European university students tended to experience consequences that are associated with lower level health risks rather than more severe consequences (e.g., drink-driving and physical injury). Harm prevention and reduction interventions for students should be targeted towards those consequences that are most salient to the target group to ensure feedback is relevant and potentially more effective in changing students’ substance use behaviours
