About the Electron Charge Accelerated in the Small-size Betatron MIB-4
It is assumed that the electron charge accelerated in small-size betatons is of the same order as that in the classical betatron. However, the parameters of the interpolar space of small-size betatons significantly differ from the parameters of the classical betatron. We can expect that the value of the accelerated electron charge will be different. The paper presents the results of the measurements of the electron charge accelerated in a small-size betatron MIB-4. It is shown that the electron charge accelerated is this betatron is larger than that in the classical betatron
Localizing limit cycles : from numeric to analytical results
Presentation given by participants of the joint international multidisciplinary workshop MURPHYS-HSFS-2016 (MUltiRate Processes and HYSteresis; Hysteresis and Slow-Fast Systems), which was dedicated to the mathematical theory and applications of multiple scale systems and systems with hysteresis, and held at the Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) in Barcelona from June 13th to 17th, 2016This note presents the results of [4]. It deals with the problem of location and existence of limit cycles for real planar polynomial differential systems. We provide a method to construct Poincaré-Bendixson regions by using transversal curves, that enables us to prove the existence of a limit cycle that has been numerically detected. We apply our results to several known systems, like the Brusselator one or some Liénard systems, to prove the existence of the limit cycles and to locate them very precisely in the phase space. Our method, combined with some other classical tools can be applied to obtain sharp bounds for the bifurcation values of a saddle-node bifurcation of limit cycles, as we do for the Rychkov syste
Thermal production of axino Dark Matter
We reconsider thermal production of axinos in the early universe, adding: a)
missed terms in the axino interaction; b) production via gluon decays
kinematically allowed by thermal masses; c) a precise modeling of reheating. We
find an axino abunance a few times larger than previous computations.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures. Final version, to appear on JHE
A Definitive Signal of Multiple Supersymmetry Breaking
If the lightest observable-sector supersymmetric particle (LOSP) is charged
and long-lived, then it may be possible to indirectly measure the Planck mass
at the LHC and provide a spectacular confirmation of supergravity as a symmetry
of nature. Unfortunately, this proposal is only feasible if the gravitino is
heavy enough to be measured at colliders, and this condition is in direct
conflict with constraints from big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN). In this work, we
show that the BBN bound can be naturally evaded in the presence of multiple
sectors which independently break supersymmetry, since there is a new decay
channel of the LOSP to a goldstino. Certain regions of parameter space allow
for a direct measurement of LOSP decays into both the goldstino and the
gravitino at the LHC. If the goldstino/gravitino mass ratio is measured to be
2, as suggested by theory, then this would provide dramatic verification of the
existence of multiple supersymmetry breaking and sequestering. A variety of
consistent cosmological scenarios are obtained within this framework. In
particular, if an R symmetry is imposed, then the gauge-gaugino-goldstino
interaction vertices can be forbidden. In this case, there is no bound on the
reheating temperature from goldstino overproduction, and thermal leptogenesis
can be accommodated consistently with gravitino dark matter.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, title changed to match the version published in

Neurogenic potential of dental pulp stem cells isolated from murine incisors
INTRODUCTION: Interest in the use of dental pulp stem cells (DPSC) to enhance neurological recovery following stroke and traumatic injury is increasing following successful pre-clinical studies. A murine model of autologous neural stem cell transplantation would be useful for further pre-clinical investigation of the underlying mechanisms. However, while human-derived DPSC have been well characterised, the neurogenic potential of murine DPSC (mDPSC) has been largely neglected. In this study we demonstrate neuronal differentiation of DPSC from murine incisors in vitro. METHODS: mDPSC were cultured under neuroinductive conditions and assessed for neuronal and glial markers and electrophysiological functional maturation. RESULTS: mDPSC developed a neuronal morphology and high expression of neural markers nestin, ßIII-tubulin and GFAP. Neurofilament M and S100 were found in lower abundance. Differentiated cells also expressed protein markers for cholinergic, GABAergic and glutaminergic neurons, indicating a mixture of central and peripheral nervous system cell types. Intracellular electrophysiological analysis revealed the presence of voltage-gated L-type Ca2+ channels in a majority of cells with neuronal morphology. No voltage-gated Na+ or K+ currents were found and the cultures did not support spontaneous action potentials. Neuronal-like networks expressed the gap junction protein, connexin 43 but this was not associated with dye coupling between adjacent cells after injection of the low-molecular weight tracers Lucifer yellow or Neurobiotin. This indicated that the connexin proteins were not forming traditional gap junction channels. CONCLUSIONS: The data presented support the differentiation of mDPSC into immature neuronal-like networks.Kylie M Ellis, David C O, Carroll, Martin D Lewis, Grigori Y Rychkov and Simon A Kobla
Neutrino mass and low-scale leptogenesis in a testable SUSY SO(10) model
It is shown that a supersymmetric SO(10) model extended with fermion singlets
can accommodate the observed neutrino masses and mixings as well as generate
the desired lepton asymmetry in concordance with the gravitino constraint. A
necessary prediction of the model is near-TeV scale doubly-charged Higgs
scalars which should be detectable at the LHC.Comment: Latex, 7 pages, 2 figures, minor clarifications added, to appear in

Descent Relations in Cubic Superstring Field Theory
The descent relations between string field theory (SFT) vertices are
characteristic relations of the operator formulation of SFT and they provide
self-consistency of this theory. The descent relations and
in the NS fermionic string field theory in the kappa and discrete bases are
established. Different regularizations and schemes of calculations are
considered and relations between them are discussed.Comment: Replaced to JHEP styl
Graviton Emission in the Bulk from a Higher-Dimensional Schwarzschild Black Hole
We consider the evaporation of (4+n)-dimensional non-rotating black holes
into gravitons. We calculate the energy emission rate for gravitons in the bulk
obtaining analytical solutions of the master equation satisfied by all three
types (S,V,T) of gravitational perturbations. Our results, valid in the
low-energy regime, show a vector radiation dominance for every value of n,
while the relative magnitude of the energy emission rate of the subdominant
scalar and tensor radiation depends on n. The low-energy emission rate in the
bulk for gravitons is well below that for a scalar field, due to the absence of
the dominant l=0,1 modes from the gravitational spectrum. Higher partial waves
though may modify this behaviour at higher energies. The calculated low-energy
emission rate, for all types of degrees of freedom decreases with n, although
the full energy emission rate, integrated over all frequencies, is expected to
increase with n, as in the previously studied case of a bulk scalar field.Comment: 17 pages, 2 figures, minor corrections, accepted by Phys. Lett.
Probing High Reheating Temperature Scenarios at the LHC with Long-Lived Staus
We investigate the possibility of probing high reheating temperature
scenarios at the LHC, in supersymmetric models where the gravitino is the
lightest supersymmetric particle, and the stau is the next-to-lightest
supersymmetric particle. In such scenarios, the big-bang nucleosynthesis and
the gravitino abundance give a severe upper bound on the gluino mass. We find
that, if the reheating temperature is \sim 10^8 GeV or higher, the scenarios
can be tested at the LHC with an integrated luminosity of O(1 fb^{-1}) at
\sqrt{s}=7 TeV in most of the parameter space.Comment: 17 pages, 5 figures, minor modification
