Hediye faktörüne ilişkin alt temalar ilişki türü, satın alma kanalı, hediye türü, hediye bağlamı ve hediye sıklığı olurken, hediyeleşme faktörüne ait alt temalar vericinin güdüleri, alıcının tepkileri, hediyenin uygunluğu, hediye verme davranışının devamı, alıcının tercihini düşünme, ilişkinin devamı, hediyenin değeri, sürpriz boyutu, bilgi edinme, vericinin özellikleri, vericinin beklentileri ve hazırlık olmuştur. Duygu faktörüne ait alt temalar vericinin duyguları ve algılanan duyguları şeklinde bulgulanırken, sosyal faktöre ait alt temalar ise sosyal onay ve tavsiye olarak bulgulanmıştır.The gift-giving behavior refers to the voluntary offering of all kinds of goods, services and experiences between the gift receiver and the gift giver. The value and the social importance of the gift in terms of both the gift receiver and gift giver make the gifting behavior an important field of study. It is also seen that marketing science has a place among the research subjects because the gifting behavior which attracted the scientists from many different disciplines is a common form of consumer behavior. On the other hand, it would be beneficial for companies to understand the gift giving behavior in the context of providing competitive advantage with the increase in the sale of gift products. The aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting emotional satisfaction in gift giving behavior. For this purpose, firstly, a conceptual framework has been formed regarding the gifting behavior by making literature review. Afterwards, in-depth interviews were conducted with 50 participants who were living in Edirne province and determined by intentional sampling method to determine the factors affecting emotional satisfaction in gifting behavior. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed by using MAXQDA-18 qualitative analysis program. According to the results of the qualitative analysis of the research, the factors affecting emotional satisfaction in gifting behavior were found as gift factor, gift exchange factor, emotion factor and social factor themes, and a code-sub-code hierarchical model of emotional satisfaction was revealed. While purchasing channel, gift type, gift context and gift frequency, sub-themes of gift factor; the motives of the gift giver, the gift receiver's reactions, the suitability of the gift, the continuation of gift giving behavior, thinking about the gift receiver's preference, the continuation of the relationship, the value of the gift, the surprise size, the characteristics of the gift giver, the expectations of the gift giver and the preparation are the sub-themes of gift giving factor. The sub-themes of the emotion factor were detected as the emotions and perceived emotions of the gift receiver, whereas the sub-themes of the social factor were found to be social approval and advice

Assessment of Financial Risk Prediction Models with Multi-criteria Decision Making Methods

A wide range of classification models have been explored for financial risk prediction, but conclusions on which technique behaves better may vary when different performance evaluation measures are employed. Accordingly, this paper proposes the use of multiple criteria decision making tools in order to give a ranking of algorithms. More specifically, the selection of the most appropriate credit risk prediction method is here modeled as a multi-criteria decision making problem that involves a number of performance measures (criteria) and classification techniques (alternatives). An empirical study is carried out to evaluate the performance of ten algorithms over six real-life credit risk data sets. The results reveal that the use of a unique performance measure may lead to unreliable conclusions, whereas this situation can be overcome by the application of multi-criteria decision making techniques

A speedy cardiovascular diseases classifier using multiple criteria decision analysis

Each year, some 30 percent of global deaths are caused by cardiovascular diseases. This figure is worsening due to both the increasing elderly population and severe shortages of medical personnel. The development of a cardiovascular diseases classifier (CDC) for auto-diagnosis will help address solve the problem. Former CDCs did not achieve quick evaluation of cardiovascular diseases. In this letter, a new CDC to achieve speedy detection is investigated. This investigation incorporates the analytic hierarchy process (AHP)-based multiple criteria decision analysis (MCDA) to develop feature vectors using a Support Vector Machine. The MCDA facilitates the efficient assignment of appropriate weightings to potential patients, thus scaling down the number of features. Since the new CDC will only adopt the most meaningful features for discrimination between healthy persons versus cardiovascular disease patients, a speedy detection of cardiovascular diseases has been successfully implemented

Using Comparative Preference Statements in Hypervolume-Based Interactive Multiobjective Optimization

International audienceThe objective functions in multiobjective optimization problems are often non-linear, noisy, or not available in a closed form and evolutionary multiobjective optimization (EMO) algorithms have been shown to be well applicable in this case. Here, our objective is to facilitate interactive decision making by saving function evaluations outside the "interesting" regions of the search space within a hypervolume-based EMO algorithm. We focus on a basic model where the Decision Maker (DM) is always asked to pick the most desirable solution among a set. In addition to the scenario where this solution is chosen directly, we present the alternative to specify preferences via a set of so-called comparative preference statements. Examples on standard test problems show the working principles, the competitiveness, and the drawbacks of the proposed algorithm in comparison with the recent iTDEA algorithm

An Integrated Multicriteria Decision-Making Approach for Evaluating Nuclear Fuel Cycle Systems for Long-term Sustainability on the Basis of an Equilibrium Model: Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution, Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation, and Multiattribute Utility Theory Combined with Analytic Hierarchy Process

The focus on the issues surrounding spent nuclear fuel and lifetime extension of old nuclear power plants continues to grow nowadays. A transparent decision-making process to identify the best suitable nuclear fuel cycle (NFC) is considered to be the key task in the current situation. Through this study, an attempt is made to develop an equilibrium model for the NFC to calculate the material flows based on 1 TWh of electricity production, and to perform integrated multicriteria decision-making method analyses via the analytic hierarchy process technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution, preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluation, and multiattribute utility theory methods. This comparative study is aimed at screening and ranking the three selected NFC options against five aspects: sustainability, environmental friendliness, economics, proliferation resistance, and technical feasibility. The selected fuel cycle options include pressurized water reactor (PWR) once-through cycle, PWR mixed oxide cycle, or pyroprocessing sodium-cooled fast reactor cycle. A sensitivity analysis was performed to prove the robustness of the results and explore the influence of criteria on the obtained ranking. As a result of the comparative analysis, the pyroprocessing sodium-cooled fast reactor cycle is determined to be the most competitive option among the NFC scenarios.ope

Constructing a strict total order for alternatives characterized by multiple criteria: An extension

    No full text
The problem of finding a strict total order for a finite set of multiple criteria alternatives is considered. Our research extends previous work by us, which considered finding a partial order for a finite set of alternatives. We merge the preference information extracted from the preference cones and corresponding polyhedral sets, with the information derived from pairwise comparisons of two alternatives, yielding a preference matrix. This preference matrix is used as input to an integer programming model to obtain a strict total order that provides a transitive ranking for the set of alternatives. (c) 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
