Aportaciones para mejorar la formación inicial del profesorado de educación secundaria desde la perspectiva de los alumnos del CAP

El análisis de los datos de esta investigación revelan que las necesidades del alumnado del CAP con respecto a las actividades y cursos de formación inicial del profesorado se aproximan a un enfoque que potencie la adquisición de competencias personales y profesionales. El 84,6% del alumnado requiere contar con un asesor para su formación profesional inicial. Se hallaron diferencias significativas entre los alumnos de las distintas especialidades del CAP en las variables siguientes: respecto al personal no dependiente de la Administración como profesionales que deben participar en actividades formativas, en cuanto a la metodología, contenidos, actividades, crear equipos de trabajo estables y esquema de evaluación de las actividades formativa

Effect of abiotic factors on the diversity and abundance of aquatic macroinvertebrates in the East and West Branches of the Maple River, Michigan, USA

General EcologyStreams are home to a wide variety of aquatic organisms including fish and benthic macroinvertebrates. Variance in diversity and abundance of macroinvertebrates in stream ecosystems is influenced by water chemistry and substrate availability. Different substrates provide macroinvertebrates with varying habitats, protection, and resources. Four distinct sites on the East and West branches of the Maple River around Pellston, MI were sampled and studied to examine the combined effects of abiotic factors on macroinvertebrate diversity and abundance. At each site, three substrates (cobble, gravel, and sand) were studied. Rocky riverbed substrates (i.e. gravel and cobble) contained greater numbers and more diverse macro invertebrate families than sandy substrates. Community engagement in practice? : an exploration of the relationship between the University of Fort Hare (Alice Campus) and the Ilima Agripark Project

Cooperatives have principles and goals that regulate their day-to-day operations. Their aim is to create jobs through carrying out income generating projects. This aim is usually difficult to achieve as ‘human’ factors sometimes obscure the projects’ progress. This study therefore explored the nature of relationship that exists between the University of Fort Hare (UFH) and the cooperative members involved in the project, which in this study are referred to as, Ilima Agripark Project (IAP) members. This relationship was investigated through the three particular forms (information, consultation and participation) of community engagement, their nature, meanings, the influence they possess and how IAP/UFH members comprehend these. Guided by her research matrix and interview guide, the researcher used the qualitative and interpretive approach method to collect data. The case study made use of document analysis, key informant interviews, direct observations, face to face interviews and focus group discussions to collect data. In order to validate her data, she also made use of a tape recorder and notebook. The study’s key finding is that the three particular community engagement forms are not fully utilised by the university. The study revealed that there is lack of transparency when it comes to information dissemination hence, the IAP members feel insecure and socially excluded
