    ‘Collaspsible’ is a concept of designing goods in terms of space saving. This concept could be applied in the draft of the design of Hansen (2008), “Lifter of gallon for potable water with mechanical system”, by way of decreasing the dimension of the tool’s folding function, sliding function and rolling function. Development of the design had led to a new tool with smaller dimensions than those of the previous one, namely length 31 cm, width 50 cm dan height 100 cm in comparison to previous dimensions which were length 50 cm, width 50 cm and height 139 cm. One unit lever which is connected to a gear box and double pulley was used for the manual mover. Implementing this kind of mover had caused a mechanical advantage of around 18 times, so that the force required to turn the lever amounts to 15 N. Common materials were used and they could easily be found in many utensil shops

    Microwave Absorbing Properties of Ba0.6Sr0.4Fe12-zMnzO19 (z = 0 â 3) Materials in XBand Frequencies

    Ba0.6Sr0.4Fe12-zMnzO19 (z = 0,1,2, and 3) were successfully synthesized by solid state reaction through a mechanical milling method. Stoichiometric quantities of analytical-grade MnCO3, BaCO3, Fe2O3, and SrCO3 precursors with purity greater than 99% were mixed. It was found that the best phase composition, having an absorber with high performance, was Ba0.6Sr0.4Fe11MnO19. Refinement of the X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the Ba0.6Sr0.4Fe11MnO19 was single-phase and had a hexagonal structure (P63/mmc). Mechanical milling of Ba0.6Sr0.4Fe11MnO19 powders produced particles with a mean size of ~850 nm. SEM images revealed the morphology of the particles as being aggregates of fine grains. The magnetic properties of the Ba0.6Sr0.4Fe11MnO19 particles showed a low coercivity and a high remanent magnetization. The Ba0.6Sr0.4Fe11MnO19 has certain microwave absorber properties in the frequency range of 8-14 GHz, with an absorbing peak value of "‘8 dB and -10 dB at frequencies of 8.5 and 12.5 GHz, respectively. The study concludes that the Ba0.6Sr0.4Fe12-zMnzO19 that was successfully synthesized is a good candidate for use as an electromagnetic absorber material

    Anisotropic superconductivity in graphite intercalation compound YbC6

    We report anisotropy of the upper critical field (Bc2) of an intercalated graphite superconductor YbC6 (Tc = 6.5 K) determined from angular dependent magnetoresistance measurements. Though the perpendicular coherence length is much longer than interlayer spacing, measured angular dependences of Bc2 are well fitted by the Lawrence-Doniach model or the Tinkham model, which are known to be applicable to quasi two-dimensional materials or thin films, rather than the effective mass model. This observation is similar to the measurements for the other intercalated graphite superconductor, CaC6, by Jobiliong et al. [E. Jobiliong, H.D. Zhou, J.A. Janik, Y.-J. Jo, L. Balicas, J.S. Brooks, C.R. Wiebe, Phys. Rev. B 76 (2007) 31 052511]. A possible explanation for the unexpected applicability of these models is that our YbC6 samples are synthesized as thin flakes in the host graphite.Comment: 15 pages, 8 figure

    A Mean Field Model for the Quadrupolar Phases of UPd3_3

    UPd3_3 is known to exhibit four antiferroquadrupolar ordered phases at low temperatures. We report measurements of the magnetisation and magnetostriction of single crystal UPd3_3, along the principal symmetry directions, in fields up to 33 T. These results have been combined with recent inelastic neutron and x-ray resonant scattering measurements to construct a mean field model of UPd3_3 including up to fourth nearest neighbour interactions. In particular we find that anisotropic quadrupolar interactions must be included in order to explain the low temperature structures derived from the scattering data.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, 3 table

    Currently, household waste management has been managed by a waste bank so that the existing daily waste is collected and sorted to be recycled to make the environment better and less pollution-free. In carrying out its activities, the Garbage Bank in South Tangerang City experienced problems starting from the process of depositing waste from customers, the process of recording transactions and reporting transactions that occurred, modifying so that customer data collection, types of waste, and existing reports were still not well organized and there were no media. Communication can be used between the waste bank and waste bank customers. This research will design a waste bank information system for waste management in South Tangerang from the existing problems. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology with the prototyping method is used in designing a mobile-based integrated waste bank application. The proposed system uses UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling.     Electronic waste (e-waste) has become environmental issue in Indonesia. Several tons of e-waste was generated each year. Available landfills will not be sufficient to accommodate e-waste that people produce. Waste bank become one of many solutions to overcome this problem. Implementation of pilot project in waste bank is needed to see the prospects of e-waste collection in waste bank. Thus, the goal of this research is to design a value chain system for e-waste collection prospect in waste bank and system simulation as the foundation for implementing a pilot project. Simulations on 2 scenarios had been done to determine profitability of e-waste collection's pilot project in waste bank. Based on simulation, it is known that there is profit generated from e-waste recycling process for 2 scenarios. Ranges of profit for 2 months are Rp. 7.963.879 - Rp. 40.447.047 for scenario 1 and Rp. 7.952.394 – 40.435.561 for scenario 2. If only PCB component that could be recycled, profit for 2 months still can be generated in the range Rp. 689.964 – Rp. 6.398.486 for scenario 1 and Rp. 678.478 – Rp. 6.387.000 for scenario 2. Thus, implementation of e-waste collection's pilot project in waste bank is profitable
