Evaluación del programa de salud ocupacional Atesa de Occidente S.A. E.S.P.

La Salud Ocupacional ha venido cobrando importancia al interior de las organizaciones durante los últimos años, ya que el mundo globalizado de hoy es cada vez más exigente; y herramientas como la salud ocupacional permiten que las empresas sean más competitivas. Puesto que una población trabajadora sana y motivada será mucho más rentable en todos los sentidos y aportará un importante grado de desarrollo a las sociedades. El Programa de Salud Ocupacional es un instrumento fundamental para cualquier tipo de organización; ya que con este se busca alcanzar una buena calidad de vida para las personas, puesto que estas son el principal activo de una empresa y por ende todos los esfuerzos que se hagan por mejorar sus condiciones tanto laborales como personales, no serán suficientes. De aquí la importancia de evaluar el funcionamiento de dicho programa, puesto que esta es la única manera de detectar sus fortalezas y debilidades, con el fin de establecer un proceso de mejora continua y así garantizar a sus trabajadores un medio ambiente laboral sano y seguro.The Occupational Health has come charging importance to the interior of the organizations during the last years, since the world today globalizado is more and more demanding; and tools like the occupational health allow that the companies are more competitive. The Program of Occupational Health is a fundamental instrument for any organization type; since with this it is looked for to reach a good quality of life for people, since these they are the main asset of a company and for ende all the efforts that are made to improve their conditions so much labor as personal, they won't be enough. Of here the importance of evaluating the operation of this program, since this it is the only way to detect their strengths and weaknesses, with the purpose of stablishing a process of continuous improvement and this way to guarantee their workers a healthy and sure labor environment

Propuesta para implementación de un programa de farmacovigilancia para la detección de eventos adversos a medicamentos veterinarios aplicable en la farmacia veterinaria El Palacio de las Mascotas, del municipio de Medellín

N/AEste trabajo de investigación se basa en la recopilación de toda la información obtenida en el desarrollo del diplomado en base a la farmacovigilancia y la notificación de eventos adversos a medicamentos en una farmacia veterinaria, enfocado en la raza canina, entendiendo la gravedad y la frecuencia con la que se presentan estos eventos. El título de este proyecto de investigación es La farmacovigilancia y la notificación de eventos adversos a medicamentos en la farmacia veterinaria llamada Palacio de las mascotas, del municipio de Medellín enfocada en los caninos durante el periodo comprendido del 2020 al 2022 Este proyecto investigativo se realizó por medio de visitas de forma presencial en el lugar. Se realizó por medio de un diseño descriptivo con enfoque cuantitativo a través de las encuestas a los clientes de la farmacia veterinaria Palacio de las mascotas, llegando a la conclusión de que la farmacovigilancia juega un papel fundamental ya que con ella se pueden conocer los efectos adversos que puede tener un medicamento, ya sea de uso humano o veterinario, así mismo en este proceso entran a participar todo el personal de salud que este relacionado y la comunidad en general. La farmacovigilancia es una ciencia encargada a las actividades con relación a la detección, evaluación, comprensión y prevención de problemas de salud relacionados con el uso de medicamentos. La farmacovigilancia en el ámbito veterinario es un aspecto crucial para garantizar la seguridad y eficacia de los medicamentos utilizados en el tratamiento de animales. La notificación de Eventos Adversos a Medicamentos (EAM) desempeña un papel fundamental en este contexto, ya que permite detectar y evaluar los posibles efectos secundarios y riesgos asociados con los productos farmacéuticos empleados en la atención de animales.This research work is based on the compilation of all the information that was obtained in the development of the diploma based on pharmacovigilance and the notification of adverse events to medications in a veterinary pharmacy focused on the canine breed, as well as the severity and frequency of these events. The title of research project is pharmacovigilance and notification of adverse events to medications in the veterinary pharmacy called Palacio de las mascotas. In the municipality of Medellin focused on canines during the period from 2020 to 2022. We do it through in-person visits to the place at the time of doing the research. The strategy is through a descriptive design, it was carried out through surveys of veterinary pharmacy clients, pet palace reaching the conclusión that pharmacovigilance is very important because with it the adverse effects that a medication can have, whether for human or veterinary use, are known, where all health personnel related to it participate. Análisis de concordancia en la interpretación de imágenes mamográficas entre médicos radiólogos de Bogotá D. C.

Objetivo: Evaluar la concordancia entre médicos radiólogos de Bogotá, D.C., en la interpretación de estudios mamográficos con la categorización BI-RADS. Materiales y métodos: Estudio de corte transversal en 11 centros mamográficos de Bogotá, D.C., que incluye un tamaño de muestra de 323 exámenes mamográficos, en mujeres asintomáticas de 50 a 69 años, seleccionados de forma aleatoria y estratificada según su categorización BI-RADS. Mediante el índice kappa se determinó la concordancia de la categorización diagnóstica del sistema BI-RADS en los informes mamográficos entre los radiólogos de los centros mamográficos y el consenso de dos médicos radiólogos expertos del Instituto Nacional de Cancerología ESE. Resultados: Después del consenso entre los dos médicos radiólogos del Instituto Nacional de Cancerología de Colombia, el análisis de concordancia con los médicos radiólogos de todas las instituciones demostró una tasa de acuerdo del 54,9% y un índice kappa (k) de 0,21 (IC 95%: 0,14-0,28) en la categorización BI-RADS. Cuando se agruparon las categorías BI-RADS 1 y 2 la proporción de coincidencias fue de 75,3% y el índice kappa (k) de 0,26 (IC 95%: 0,17-0,34). Discusión: Según los márgenes propuestos para el índice kappa, se encontró una concordancia débil en la categorización BI-RADS presentada en los reportes mamográficos por los médicos radiólogos expertos y los médicos radiólogos de los centros participantes del estudio. Lo anterior sugiere que aunque se ha adoptado el sistema estandarizado para el reporte mamográfico desde finales de la década de los noventa en Bogotá, D.C., existe una alta variabilidad dependiente del observador en el momento de la interpretación de las imágenes mamográficas

Tendencias de la investigación en Ingeniería Ambiental

Esta obra incluye las memorias del Simposio “Tendencias de la Investigación en Ingeniería Ambiental”, organizado por el Grupo de Investigaciones y Mediciones Ambientales (GEMA), realizado en la Universidad de Medellín en agosto de 2007. The Research Journey as a Challenge Towards New Trends

The academic community of the department of Risaralda, in its permanent interest in evidencing the results of the research processes that are carried out from the Higher Education Institutions and as a product of the VI meeting of researchers of the department of Risaralda held in November 2021 presents its work: “The journey of research as a challenge towards new trends”, which reflects the result of the latest research and advances in different lines of knowledge in Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Technology and Information Sciences, which seek to solve and meet the demands of the different sectors. Clonal chromosomal mosaicism and loss of chromosome Y in elderly men increase vulnerability for SARS-CoV-2

The pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19) had an estimated overall case fatality ratio of 1.38% (pre-vaccination), being 53% higher in males and increasing exponentially with age. Among 9578 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 in the SCOURGE study, we found 133 cases (1.42%) with detectable clonal mosaicism for chromosome alterations (mCA) and 226 males (5.08%) with acquired loss of chromosome Y (LOY). Individuals with clonal mosaic events (mCA and/or LOY) showed a 54% increase in the risk of COVID-19 lethality. LOY is associated with transcriptomic biomarkers of immune dysfunction, pro-coagulation activity and cardiovascular risk. Interferon-induced genes involved in the initial immune response to SARS-CoV-2 are also down-regulated in LOY. Thus, mCA and LOY underlie at least part of the sex-biased severity and mortality of COVID-19 in aging patients. Given its potential therapeutic and prognostic relevance, evaluation of clonal mosaicism should be implemented as biomarker of COVID-19 severity in elderly people.
