    Ten-der-ness

Ten-der-ness. The title of this document defines the word, because one can easily forget all the meanings of a word. To be tender is to be compassionate and kind but also can mean to be in pain. “The quality of being easy to cut or chew” is my favorite definition; because to me that says that to be tender makes you vulnerable to being swallowed by reality. It’s a common saying that without suffering we would never know compassion but, within tenderness, compassion and suffering exist simultaneously in a ten letter word. Within my thesis I am exploring tenderness through material and thinking of this vulnerability as a transformative power which is key to a complex reading of the feminine. Each section begins with a different poem of mine that corresponds with the titles, concepts, influences, and work discussed. I begin with a dream that connects myself into the work through biography, language, and an ethereal and emotional connection. One section examines the influence of Agnes Martin and her writings, while talking about the importance of my own poems. The sections that follow dive into the material and process of the work, the curtains, the Belly pieces, and the gestural gravity pieces, as well as, the influences of literature, color, and feminism. Overall this document produces a tender portrait of my practice

Project management is done to manage the project from the beginning until the project ends. The case study in this study was PT. Pudana Abadi Perkasa as an element in the implementation of construction work tasked with carrying out the construction of the Zone 3C Road Improvement project in class 45 of the South Sumatra LRT Infrastructure Development Project. The CPM method is used to find out how long a project is completed and look for the possibility of accelerating the time of project implementation. The result is the optimal duration of the Zone 3C Road Repair project in class 45 which is 145 days from the normal time of 165 days. And the time savings is 20 days with 12.12% presentation

Local wisdom had been adopted by business practices in an area or region aside from modern marketing theory which is used by marketers to enhance market share and increase profitability. Local wisdom is becoming increasingly common in business practices in global markets including the Indonesian market. The aim of this paper is to examine the important elements of local wisdom and its relation to marketing performance mediated by product, price, promotion and place. Quantitative analysis employed with data collected from two hundred and fifty Indonesian businessmen engaged in the textile and garments industries have been used in this study. Multidimensional scaling is used to explore the data for mapping or search for an object in the configuration of a number of low dimensional space based on the size of the proximity between objects studied. The Structural Equation Modelling has been used to analyze the indicator variables, latent variables and measurement error variables, to identify the dimensions and to measure the effect or the degree of relationship between factors that have been identified through related dimensions. The influence of one variable with other variables proved to be positive and significant, that is the local wisdom variables have a positive effect on the product and on the price. The study shows that local wisdom has no significant influence on the marketing performance, while other variables have significant influence to one another.peer-reviewe

A CM-based prevention model for is projects implementation failure in Malaysian government hospitals

    Get PDF
Malaysian government hospitals have adopted information system (IS) as an enabler in providing a better service to public. However, some of the IS implementations are facing many challenges such as users’ resistance to change, users did not realize the importance of the system, and lack of support and monitoring from the middle managers and top management. Consequently, it failed to be implemented successfully. Preliminary studies revealed that there is no guideline for IS implementation in government hospitals in Northern Region of Malaysia. Hence, the study investigates the failure factors of IS implementation in hospital and construct a prevention model which incorporates Change Management (CM). An extensive literature review and interviews have been conducted. Critical Failure Factors (CFFs) of IS projects implementation and three CM models (Lewin’s CM model, Kotter’s CM model and Prosci’s ADKAR model) have been identified. Key persons representing top management, IT practitioners and medical practitioners from four selected government hospitals in Northern Region of Malaysia were involved in data collection. A CM-based prevention model was constructed based on the identified CFFs and three CM models. Delphi technique was used to evaluate the proposed model, involving domain experts from the selected hospitals. Thirty-six CFFs have been discovered which have been categorized into four main categories; human issues, technology and infrastructure issues, software limitations, and support issues. The proposed prevention model is divided into three sub-phases of Implementation; Pre-Implementation, During-Implementation, and Post-Implementation. The model is believed to be beneficial for top management, IT practitioners and medical practitioners in preventing IS implementation failure among government hospitals in Northern Region of Malaysia
