    Construction and validation of TL-IPM generator

    Hydrokinetic energy is one of the potential sources of energy that can be extracted and converted to electrical energy using linear generator. This work discusses about construction and validation of tubular linear internal permanent magnet (TL-IPM) generator, a kind of linear generator. The generator could produce electricity by converting linear motion generated from vortex induced vibrations induced due from a flowing fluid, such as a river. A simulation model of the generator is created using Ansoft\u27s Maxwell software, which uses finite element analysis to perform electromagnetic analysis of the generator. Then a practical generator was built and tested. The results of the simulation and experimental generator match each other and predicted behavior. Also a model of the generator has been simulated using Simulink and the performance of the generator was evaluated for various operating conditions. The simulation results were reasonably good and validate that a combination of several generators can be connected together to extract a suitable amount of hydrokinetic energy --Abstract, page iii

    Oil palm gives the most high yield compare to all oil crops in the world. Oil extraction rate from palm oil bunches become so valuable to generate a good economy to our country. There are several factors that have potential to affects oil extraction rate of oil palms such as harvesting, ripeness, loose fruits and transportation. Therefore, the research was conducted to study of the factors that affecting oil extraction rate (OER) in oil palm plantations which has been conducted at FGV plantations under Wilayah Serting. A survey was conducted to 80 samples out of 100 populations in achieving the objectives. The data analyses were used reliability test, ANOVA, regression and correlation was analysed by using SPSS 20. The result obtained from this study was all the factors have a significant different since p-value 0.001 is less than 0.05. Through regression analysis found that the most factors contributed to the OER was ripeness of the bunch

    Schools and communities (publics) are two entities that can not be separated in supporting the implementation of education in an educational institution. In this case, the principal (Head of Madrasah) has an important role in establishing and maintaining relationships between the school and community elements around the school. One of the most important aspects of good duties and leadership of Madrasah principals is the communication aspect. The communication in question is how the head of Madrasah builds synergy between the school community (school environment) and builds good relations with the environment around the school or the communities around the school. This research is a quantitative descriptive research that aims to find out how far the influence of madrasah principal communications to increase community involvement in MA Nurus Sholah by using the product moment correlation formula that its descriptions are calculated based on the numbers obtained from the questionnaire results. The results of the study indicate that Madrasah head communication influenced the increasing of community involvement in Madrasah Aliyah Nurus Sholah Akkor Pamekasan. This is evidenced by the value of "r" work after consultation on the product moment interpretation table, the value of "r" work is at 0.600 to 0800 with sufficient interpretation

    Abstrak Bowling merupakan salah satu teknik dasar dalam permainan cricket yang bertujuan untuk menahan batsman lawan mencetak poin (run). Bowler (pelempar bola) adalah pemain yang bertugas melempar bola sebagus mungkin agar batsman sulit memukul bola. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kontribusi kekuatan otot tungkai, fleksibilitas pergelangan tangan, kekuatan otot lengan dan daya tahan aerobik terhadap akurasi bowling atlet cricket putra Jawa Timur. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan pengukuran. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah atlet cricket putra Jawa Timur yang berjumlah 13 atlet. Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana pearson correlation dan analisis regresi berganda (uji F) pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kekuatan otot tungkai berkontribusi terhadap akurasi bowling atlet cricket putra Jawa Timur sebesar 4%. (2) fleksibilitas pergelangan tangan berkontribusi terhadap akurasi bowling atlet cricket putra Jawa Timur sebesar 14,46 %. (3) kekuatan otot lengan berkontribusi terhadap akurasi bowling atlet cricket putra Jawa Timur sebesar 3,4%. (4) daya tahan aerobik berkontribusi terhadap akurasi bowling atlet cricket putra Jawa Timur sebesar 12,24%. (5) kekuatan otot tungkai, fleksibilitas pergelangan tangan, kekuatan otot lengan dan daya tahan aerobik berkontribusi secara bersama-sama terhadap akurasi bowling atlet cricket putra Jawa Timur sebesar 34,1%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kekuatan otot tungkai, fleksibilitas pergelangan tangan, kekuatan otot lengan dan daya tahan aerobik mempunyai kontribusi yang tidak signifikan terhadap akurasi bowling atlet cricket putra Jawa Timur.     This study aims to explore the effect of situational leadership and motivation on employee performance through the mediation of job satisfaction in the pharmaceutical industry. This study is a development of previous research that has been conducted in the banking industry. The contribution of this research is expected to have managerial implications in the pharmaceutical industry when a leader has a situational leadership style who can build communication, provide clear directions, and divide tasks among employees, and when employees have high motivation they can feel satisfied. work to improve performance. The sample of this research is employees who work in several pharmaceutical industries in the Bekasi industrial area, West Java. The sample criteria in this study were employees with more than 1 year of service, working in marketing, PPIC, logistics, and production with positions ranging from staff to supervisor. Respondents were selected proportionally using the purposive sampling method. Data was obtained through a questionnaire distributed online. Data analysis technique using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with LISREL. From the research conducted, there are findings that motivation does not have a positive effect on employee performance, however, motivation can have a positive effect on employee performance through a mediator variable, namely, job satisfaction

    Acoustic Emission Evaluation of Fatigue Life Prediction for a Carbon Steel Specimen using a Statistical-Based Approach.

    This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between the strain and acoustic emission (AE) signals to ascertain the applicability of AE in predicting the fatigue life of metallic specimens. This paper is an extension research of previous work that has been published before. Previous paper presents the ability of AE to predict the fatigue life using statistical parameters such as root mean square (r.m.s) and kurtosis. The same approach also has been carried out in this recent paper but this time, the common parameters that can be directly extracted from the AE data acquisition system were used. To achieve the objective, the strain and AE signals were measured using a strain gauge and a AE piezoelectric transducer on SAE 1045 steel specimens. These measurements were conducted during the cyclic test at constant loadings of 570 MPa, 610 MPa, and 650 MPa. For data collection, AE parameters, i. e., count rate, hits, and duration, were extracted from specific software and were then correlated to fatigue lives calculated using the strain data. Fatigue life values were calculated using strain-life models. The correlation between the experimental and predicted values of fatigue life was then established by the so-called coefficient of correlation which is within 97.2 % and 98.5 % for the Coffin-Manson model and between 92.7 % and 94.3 % for the Smith-Watson-Topper model, respectively. As for the Morrow model, the coefficient of correlation was tabulated at approximately between 71.9 % and 73.6 %. Good correlation values expressed that the AE technique is applicable for predicting the fatigue life of metallic specimens

    Legal Implications of Bankruptcy on Bank-related Problems and Customer's Legal Protection

    The background of this legal research is that the Bank is an intermediary institution as well as a profit-oriented institution. Intermediation means that banks are pillars of the national economy. This puts the Bank regulated by regulations and supervised by special authorities. Banks are business entities that have special characteristics so revocation of business licenses, dissolution of legal entities, and liquidation of banks cannot be equated with generally accepted procedures. The legal issues in the research are: Can a troubled bank be bankrupt and how is the legal protection for depositors according to the Law on Bankruptcy and Postponement of Debt Payment Obligations? This research is juridical normative by using a statutory approach, namely: the Banking Law and Bankruptcy Law, and a conceptual approach. The legal materials that have been obtained are analyzed by content analysis. Based on the results of the discussion, it is shown that: first, according to the provisions of the Banking Law, Bank Indonesia is given the authority to revoke the business licenses of troubled banks. Likewise, the Bankruptcy Law gives authority to Bank Indonesia to file for bankruptcy against troubled banks. So far, Bank Indonesia in dealing with troubled banks after rescue efforts failed to use the liquidation process and has never used bankruptcy efforts. And protection for Depositors has been provided by the liquidation mechanism and banking regulations are lex specialist to Law no. 37/2004 concerning Bankruptcy and Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations is a lex generalist. In addition, it is impossible for Bank Indonesia to choose a bankruptcy law channel to damage the national economic system just to serve the interests of creditors themselves. Even so, banking regulations and their regulatory agencies have provided legal protection for depositors and if they feel they have been harmed, they can sue the Commercial Court.     Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui desain alat pengiris bawang untuk memudahkan petani dalam penanganan pascapanen, dan juga dapat berfungsi sebagai alat yang dapat digunakan oleh usaha kecil, terutama bisnis bawang merah goreng. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah desain alat. Desain pengiris bawang merah melalui beberapa mekanisme termasuk pembuatan dukungan alat, pemasangan komponen material seperti hopper, pulley, v-belt, pisau, dan bantalan. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil alat pengujian dengan pengujian alat sederhana, alat desain dengan 2 pisau dan juga dengan desain menggunakan 4 pisau, alat ini menggunakan motor listrik sebagai tenaga penggerak untuk menggantikan tenaga manusia. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan statistik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa desain alat dengan 2 dan 4 pisau belum berjalan optimal

    Structure optimization of neural network for dynamic system modeling using multi-objective genetic algorithm

    The problem of constructing an adequate and parsimonious neural network topology for modeling non-linear dynamic system is studied and investigated. Neural networks have been shown to perform function approximation and represent dynamic systems. The network structures are usually guessed or selected in accordance with the designer's prior knowledge. However, the multiplicity of the model parameters makes it troublesome to get an optimum structure. In this paper, an alternative algorithm based on a multi-objective optimization algorithm is proposed. The developed neural network model should fulfil two criteria or objectives namely good predictive accuracy and minimum model structure. The result shows that the proposed algorithm is able to identify simulated examples correctly, and identifies the adequate model for real process data based on a set of solutions called the Pareto optimal set, from which the best network can be selected
