    Cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin leading the charge, are the beginning of something new because this ideology is attempting to change the way people store and use money - led by an influx of technological innovation and success. If executed accordingly, blockchain has the chance to completely change our world for the better. With Bitcoin being driven by advanced blockchain technology, this digital currency has the ability to decentralize one of the most important aspects of life - money. This in turn would allow for people to take direct control of their money without the need for being completely dependent on bank systems and government entities. Society is beginning to realize the full potential of blockchain technology and crypto as a whole, but lack of security may be the reason why sustained growth and mass adoption is happening at a slower rate than expected. Bitcoin and blockchain technology have life changing potential, but there are security issues holding back mass adoption and disallowing institutional money from flowing into the market. There is not a quick fix available, but starting at the root of the problem, which is in the areas surrounding education and awareness, would certainly create a solid foundation and help bridge the gap between this innovative technology and the end-user. Additionally, regulation and insurance against possible theft need to be fully established to give users the peace of mind to accept the technology. Lastly, advancements on the technical side of securing the blockchain also need to be properly executed for all of this to come together. Finding the proper balance between the technological innovation, user accessibility, and security is vital for the success of bitcoin and blockchain technology as a whole

    WACANA MARANTAU DALAM DENDANG ‘BUJANG MARANTAU’

    The existence of a significant dendang (“song”) in the musical art of Saluang Darek. Apart from being a musical medium, dendang plays an important role in conveying messages verbally. This research is a study of the discourse of marantau (“migration”) in the dendang 'Bujang Marantau'. The significance of the study of the discourse is based on a thought that dendang as a work of art contains certain values, ideas, and thoughts related to life experiences in everyday life which are often not revealed on the surface. The disclosure of the marantau discourse in the song uses perspective and discourse analysis, with interpretive qualitative methods. After the translation of the 'Bujang Marantau' dendang text, the text is then interpreted to include other texts other than the dendang which include; creator (Sawir Sutan Mudo), Saluang Darek music, Minangkabau culture, and the marantau tradition. The texts outside the 'Bujang Marantau' dendang are the surrounding context. The whole meaning of the discourse of marantau in the dendang 'Bujang Marantau' can be understood through the disclosure of the relation of meaning between the text and the context. Based on the studies that have been carried out, it was found that the discourse of marantau in the dendang 'Bujang Marantau' is a dilemmatic fact that occurs in the marantau tradition.     Changes in the contents of hen eggs due to polyphenol-rich supplementation

    The suspension of Bábolna Tetra-SL hen hybrids - the food concentrate Flaviva Vasgyúró instant drink powder, which is available on the market and is rich in flavonoids, polyphenols and minerals, is mixed into the basic feed. One group of test animals received 200 mg per day and another group received 400 mg of instant vegetable and fruit powder per day mixed in their basic maize feed for 33 days, while the control group received only the basic food containing maize. In our studies, we measured the cholesterol content and total polyphenol content of the eggs in addition to the physical parameters (weight, length, diameter, color). Our results show that in addition to favorable changes in the physical properties of eggs, the polyphenol content of eggs increased significantly, thus correlating with a significant decrease in the content of cholesterol, which may be of importance from a nutritional point of view in many groups of diseases

    Information or noise: How Twitter facilitates stock market information aggregation

    We assess the relevance of Twitter for stock-relevant information dissemination in financial markets on the single stock level. We use a unique dataset including more than 12 million Twitter feeds linked to specific firms. Using intraday data for the computation of advanced trading metrics, such as effective spreads, intraday volatility, and a daily version of the microstructure variable probability of informed trading (PIN), we measure the impact of Twitter activity on trading and information dissemination. The PIN model indicates that more uninformed than informed traders rush to the market along with rising Twitter activity. These results indicate that Twitter serves as an excellent indicator of news that is relevant for the stock market. However, we show that Twitter does not lead traditional news channels. In contrast, Twitter activity follows the market and has no predictive power with regard to future stock trading volume or volatility on the single stock level

    Preeclampsia: síndrome metabólico del embarazo

    Introducción: La preeclampsia aún es de etiología incierta, pero con distintas alteraciones metabólicas que se presentan en la mujer embarazada, tiene como común denominador el daño endotelial multiorgánico. La tarea del obstetra es identificar embarazos de alto riesgo causantes de la alta morbilidad y mortalidad materna y neonatal. Objetivo: Plantear una nueva denominación de la preeclampsia de acuerdo con la fisiopatología y los criterios del síndrome metabólico. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio de casos y controles anidados en una cohorte retrospectiva en el Hospital Materno Perinatal “Mónica Pretelini Sáenz” en el periodo de enero 2011 a diciembre 2012. Se formaron dos grupos de pacientes uno con síndrome de preeclampsia y otro con embarazo normal, a los cuales se les aplicaron los criterios de síndrome metabólico. Resultados: De la cohorte de 640 pacientes se incluyeron a 90 pacientes que correspondieron al 14.06%, el grupo I se conformó por 30 pacientes que fue considerado como casos, y grupo II por 60 pacientes considerado como controles. Los resultados de las variables antropométricas al comparar cintura, peso, talla mostraron diferencias estadísticas (OR= 8, p= 0.001), mostrando mayor obesidad en la población estudiada. En relación con los valores de triglicéridos, TA, y glucosa, se observaron diferencias estadísticas entre los grupos (OR de 1.8 y p=0.03, OR= 9 y p= 0.001, OR= 10 y p= 0.001 respectivamente). Conclusiones: El síndrome de preeclampsia cuenta con factores de riesgo como obesidad, dislipidemia aterogénica, hipertensión arterial, resistencia a la insulina con intolerancia a la glucosa o diabetes, estado proinflamatorio y protrombóticos. Por lo tanto, la preeclampsia puede ser considerada como un síndrome metabólico del embarazo y ser el factor desencadenante del desorden hipertensivo y sus complicaciones

    A toxicidade do chumbo e seu risco à saúde humana

    Os metais pesados são elementos naturais da crosta terrestre, sendo identificados como as toxinas mais antigas conhecidas pelos humanos. Em relação ao chumbo, compreende-se que consiste em uma substância completamente estranha ao metabolismo do indivíduo. Diante disso, a OMS considera que concentrações plúmbeas teciduais superiores ao limiar de 10 μg/dL são prejudiciais ao funcionamento basal do organismo, sendo definidas tais ocorrências como Saturnismo ou Plumbismo. O presente estudo tem como objetivo verificar a intoxicação por chumbo e suas implicações aos diferentes sistemas do corpo humano. Trata-se de uma análise a partir de cinco artigos selecionados nas bases de dados Literatura Latino Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SCIELO), Public Medlines (Pubmed) e Medlines, utilizando os descritores “lead exposure” and “prognostic” and “saturnism” and “neurotoxicity” and “renal system”, com seleção de artigos publicados entre 2014 e 2019. Os aspectos clínicos mais recorrentes nos casos de envenenamento por chumbo são transtornos neurocognitivos e neurofisiológicos, que acarretam problemas como a hiperatividade e déficits na cognição. Além disso, observa-se disfunções dos índices fisiológicos renais, com a excreção de biomarcadores que refletem danos no epitélio tubular; distúrbios hematológicos e cardiovasculares, a exemplo de quadros de anemia e hipertensão induzidas pelo chumbo, e a deposição desse material tóxico nos ossos durante um estado crônico do plumbismo. Concluiu-se que a exposição ao chumbo constitui um fator de risco à saúde humana e acarreta reações danosas à vários sistemas do organismo. Por fim, foi notado ainda que fatores como condições socioeconômicas, de moradia e de trabalho são também preditores dos riscos que o chumbo oferece
