    ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTION: INDUCTION PROGRAM

    Get PDF
The following dissertation aims to demonstrate if the lack of an induction process for employees in a marine industry company hinders their productivity. Also, an induction program is presented as an intervention proposal of organization development, on the premise that this program is a first step in the solving of the existing low productivity problem. By means of observation and casual interviews with the employees as research methods, it was found that the studied company personnel never went through a formal induction process and thereby, have many knowledge gaps that hinder their performance and that can be resolved by an induction program for employees.

Constant of Motion for several one-dimensional systems and outlining the problem associated with getting their Hamiltonians

The constants of motion of the following systems are deduced: a relativistic particle with linear dissipation, a no-relativistic particle with a time explicitly depending force, a no-relativistic particle with a constant force and time depending mass, and a relativistic particle under a conservative force with position depending mass. The problem of getting the Hamiltonian for these systems is determined by getting the velocity as an explicit function of position and generalized linear momentum, and this problem can be solved a first approximation for the first above system.Comment: 15 pages, Te

The films were sintered by sol-gel using vanadium pentoxide route on glass substrates previously treated. Films were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction, Raman Spectroscopy and the four-point van der Pauw conventional method. The results indicated that when the gelation time of the precursor (V2O5·nH2O) is increased, the crystalline quality, the degree of hydration, and V5+ ion concentration are increased. In the hybrid composite (PEG0.2/V2O5), VO2+ ions act as bonding between the polymer chains, making them more compact to facilitate the mobility of electric charge carriers between vanadium ions. The results showed a semiconductor-metal transition about 34°C, an indirect optical transition (V2O5·nH2O) and a vitreous transition around Tg=-69°C.Fil: Londoño Calderon, Cesar Leandro. Synthesis and Effect of CaTiO3 formation in CaO·Al2O3 by Solid-State Reaction from CaCO3· Al2O3 and Ti

CaO⋅Al2O3/CaTiO3 material was synthesized by a solid-state reaction. The effects of CaTiO3 formed into the CaO⋅Al2O3 during the synthesized process on the microstructure and mechanical properties were studied. CaCO3 was obtained from snail shells, Al2O3, and Ti powders were employed as a raw material. A chemical system with a 1:1 M ratio between CaCO3 and Al2O3 was formed, with an addition of 10 wt% Ti metallic particles. The microstructural analysis through optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction was realized. The apparent density was determined by the Archimedes method, and the mechanical behavior (hardness, fracture toughness, and transversal elastic modulus) were also determined. XRD analysis revealed the formation of calcium aluminate phases such as CaAl2O4, CaAl4O7, and CaAl12O19; in addition, the CaTiO3 phase was also identified. The in-situ formation of CaTiO3 in the ceramic material, improves the mechanical properties such as the transversal elastic modulus and fracture toughness (48 GPa and 1.32 MPa m1/2, respectively) in comparison to the reference material (55 GPa and 0.43 MPa m1/2, respectively). Changes in the microstructural morphology, bulk density, and hardness values were also observed with a positive effect in the compound material

The siliciclastic Permian-Triassic deposits in Central and Northeastern Iberian Peninsula (Iberian, Ebro and Catalan Basins) : a proposal for correlation

The siliciclastic deposits of the Iberian, Ebro and Catalan Basins have been described for more than a century, but facies similarities and a lack of biostratigaphic data have difficulted the correlation of the local stratigraphic units in a general framework up to now. Combining pollen and spores data, the identification of the regional unconformities and hiatuses and the quantitative analysis of the subsidence by backstripping methods, a new correlation scheme for these facies is proposed
