La propuesta final de la batería de instrumentos ATPEP se ha elaborado teniendo en cuenta las valoraciones cualitativas y cuantitativas de los expertosThe aim of this study was to create and validate a string of measurement tools (ATPEP), composed of two interviews and one scale, in order to identify and analyze expert team players’ training process. The discussed dimensions in both the interviews and the scale were the following: social context, sport context, inter-individual abilities, intra-individual abilities, tactic, technique, fitness and anthropometry. Only 2 out of the 132 evaluated items obtained V values low enough to be removed. Finally, the ATPEP battery instruments were elaborated taking into account quantitative and qualitative experts’ assessments.

UIDB/04647/2020 UIDP/04647/2020This study aims to synthesize and understand the qualitative and empirical evidence previously published on adapted sports career development. This systematic literature review also aimed at developing a conceptual model of the training and career path of adapted sports coaches. The research was carried out through the following databases: PubMed, Erid, EBSCO, Web of Science and Scopus. We selected nine qualitative studies according to the specific eligibility criteria. Data extraction was carried out independently by different authors, including the assessment of the methodological quality of the articles. We developed a conceptual model composed of four descriptive subjects (adapted sport option; perception of training athletes in adapted sports; development of the adapted sports coach’s learning; adapted sports coach reality) about the adapted sports coach’s pathway and added three analytical subjects about the difficulties, opportunity and reality of adapted sports. The conceptual model suggests inclusion of practical activity programs, the specificities of related contents with the adapted modalities, and observation in a real context are fundamental.publishersversionpublishe

School Dropout by Gender in the European Union: Evidence from Spain

    Get PDF
The aim of this paper is double, to describe the scope of high school dropout in Spain in comparative terms with Europe and to provide empirical evidence about its main determinants from a gender perspective. Using data from the Eurostat LFS for 1996-2009, the study makes evident a singularity for Spain: the important gender disparity at school. The multivariate statistical analysis shows that for females the academic performance, father’s nationality and mother’s educational level are the most determining factors in their education demand decisions. For males, father’s occupation and labour market conditions are the most significant influences

Towards recovering architectural information from images of architectural diagrams

The architecture of a software system is often described with diagrams embedded in the documentation. However, these diagrams are normally stored and shared as images, losing track of model-level architectural information and refraining software engineers from working on the architectural model later on. In this context, tools able to extract architectural information from images can be of great help. In this article, we present a framework called IMEAV for processing architectural diagrams (based on speci c viewtypes) and recovering information from them. We have instantiated our framework to analyze \\module views and evaluated this prototype with an image dataset. Results have been encouraging, showing a good accuracy for recognizing modules, relations and textual features.XV Simposio Argentino de Ingeniería de Softwar

Insulin-Like growth-factor 1 myocardial expression decreases in chronic alcohol consumption

Background Chronic alcohol ingestion may cause severe biochemical and pathophysiological derangements to skeletal muscle. Unfortunately, these alcohol-induced events may also prime skeletal muscle for worsened, delayed, or possibly incomplete repair following acute injury. As alcoholics may be at increased risk for skeletal muscle injury, our goals were to identify the effects of chronic alcohol ingestion on components of skeletal muscle regeneration. To accomplish this, age- and gender-matched C57Bl/6 mice were provided normal drinking water or water that contained 20% alcohol (v/v) for 18-20 wk. Subgroups of mice were injected with a 1.2% barium chloride (BaCl2) solution into the tibialis anterior (TA) muscle to initiate degeneration and regeneration processes. Body weights and voluntary wheel running distances were recorded during the course of recovery. Muscles were harvested at 2, 7 or 14 days post-injection and assessed for markers of inflammation and oxidant stress, fiber cross-sectional areas, levels of growth and fibrotic factors, and fibrosis. Results Body weights of injured, alcohol-fed mice were reduced during the first week of recovery. These mice also ran significantly shorter distances over the two weeks following injury compared to uninjured, alcoholics. Injured TA muscles from alcohol-fed mice had increased TNFα and IL6 gene levels compared to controls 2 days after injury. Total protein oxidant stress and alterations to glutathione homeostasis were also evident at 7 and 14 days after injury. Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) induction was delayed in injured muscles from alcohol-fed mice which may explain, in part, why fiber cross-sectional area failed to normalize 14 days following injury. Gene levels of TGFβ1 were induced early following injury before normalizing in muscle from alcohol-fed mice compared to controls. However, TGFβ1 protein content was consistently elevated in injured muscle regardless of diet. Fibrosis was increased in injured, muscle from alcohol-fed mice at 7 and 14 days of recovery compared to injured controls. Conclusions Chronic alcohol ingestion appears to delay the normal regenerative response following significant skeletal muscle injury. This is evidenced by reduced cross-sectional areas of regenerated fibers, increased fibrosis, and altered temporal expression of well-described growth and fibrotic factors

The early application of sustainability indicators with agronomy students seek to expand the vision of future professionals beyond the productive/economic approach. We present the results of two years in the region of Nueva Helvecia-Colonia Valdense, Uruguay. Data were collected in farms through structured interviews done by 25 students to 13 farmers. In the 2009 evaluation no systems with average values below 6/10 were identified; nevertheless one third of the systems could be having "unsustainability" problems associated with "quality of life" and "effluents pollution". The comparison 2010-2009 showed a widespread decline, except “quality of life”. The use of a set of indicators for same farmers every year could allow a multidimensional evaluation of sustainability in more than 150 systems; at the same moment an instrument to show rural families a "new look" on their activities is created.Eje A4: Ambiente, Naturaleza y AgroecologíaFacultad de Ciencias Agrarias y Forestale
