Simulation of vacuum membrane distillation process for desalination with Aspen Plus
YesThis paper presents a simulation study of vacuum membrane distillation (VMD) for desalination. A simulation model was built on Aspen Plus® platform as user defined unit operation for VMD module. A simplified mathematical model was verified and the analysis of process performance based on simulation was also carried out. Temperature and concentration polarization effects are significant in the conditions of higher feed temperature and/or vacuum pressure. The sign of difference of the vapour pressures between at the membrane interfaces, is a pointer of the vacuum pressure threshold. Increasing the vacuum pressure at lower feed temperature is an effective way to increase the permeate flux and reduce the energy consumption simultaneously
PENGARUH PENGELOLAAN LAPORAN KEUANGAN TERHADAP EFEKTIVITAS ARUS KAS PADA PT. MABAR MITRA BERSAMA
Cash flow is the basis for financial calculations and the management of financialstatements carried out by the company and its routine activities. Improper financialstatement management and unstable income and expenditure streams will result in acrisis for the company in the future. The effectiveness of cash flow is a measure of theextent to which the success of cash flow has an impact on the achievement andconsideration of the consequences that will be received by the company. The purpose ofthis study was to determine whether the management of financial statements owned byPT. Mabar Mitra Bersama affects the effectiveness of cash flow. The population of thisstudy are 42 employees of PT. Mabar Mitra Bersama where 30 employees of the financedepartment are the sample in this study. Simple linear regression test is a data analysistechnique used by the author in this study with the type of data used in the form ofquantitative data collected from respondents who filled out questionnaires. Based on theresults of the research that has been done, the value of the financial statementmanagement variable has a significance smaller than the probability value of 0.05, or thevalue of 0.000 <0.05, then Ha is accepted, H0 is rejected. Variable X has a t arithmeticvalue (21.935) greater than t table (2.048) so it can be concluded that the managementof financial statements has a significant influence on the effectiveness of cash flows andit can be seen that the contribution of financial management in influencing theeffectiveness of cash flows is 94 .5% while other variables only affect 5.5%

On the Complexity of Average Path length for Biological Networks and Patterns
Path length calculation is a frequent requirement in studies related to graph theoretic problems such as genetics. Standard method to calculate average path length of a graph requires traversing all nodes in the graph repeatedly, which is computationally expensive for graphs containing large number of nodes. We propose a novel method to calculate average path length for graphs commonly required in the studies of genetics. The proposed method is computationally less expensive and less time consuming compared to standard method. In this paper, a mathematical formulation is provided that calculates Average Path Length for graphs commonly present in biological networks, at the cost of uniform time complexity, for different size of networks
Potentials of molecular based breeding to enhance drought tolerance in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
The ability of plant to sustain itself in limited water conditions is crucial in the world of agriculture. To breed for drought tolerance in wheat, it is essential to clearly understand drought tolerant mechanisms. Conventional breeding is time consuming and labor intensive being inefficient with low heritability traits like drought tolerance. Recent progress made in the field of genomics enabling us to access genes linked with drought tolerance has enhanced our understanding of this complex phenomenon. The purpose of this review paper was to briefly overview the accomplishments in molecular breeding for drought tolerance in wheat. Thus, by knowing the genetics of drought tolerance and identifying quantitative trait loci (QTLs) linked with DNA markers will help wheat breeders to develop high yielding drought tolerant cultivars.Key words: Triticum aestivum L, drought tolerance, QTLs, marker assisted selection (MAS)
Wall-crossing, free fermions and crystal melting
We describe wall-crossing for local, toric Calabi-Yau manifolds without
compact four-cycles, in terms of free fermions, vertex operators, and crystal
melting. Firstly, to each such manifold we associate two states in the free
fermion Hilbert space. The overlap of these states reproduces the BPS partition
function corresponding to the non-commutative Donaldson-Thomas invariants,
given by the modulus square of the topological string partition function.
Secondly, we introduce the wall-crossing operators which represent crossing the
walls of marginal stability associated to changes of the B-field through each
two-cycle in the manifold. BPS partition functions in non-trivial chambers are
given by the expectation values of these operators. Thirdly, we discuss crystal
interpretation of such correlators for this whole class of manifolds. We
describe evolution of these crystals upon a change of the moduli, and find
crystal interpretation of the flop transition and the DT/PT transition. The
crystals which we find generalize and unify various other Calabi-Yau crystal

Improvement of multicomponent batch reactive distillation under parameter uncertainty by inferential state with model predictive control
yesBatch reactive distillation is aimed at achieving a
high purity product, therefore, there is a great deal to find an
optimal operating condition and effective control strategy to
obtain maximum of the high purity product. An off-line
dynamic optimization is first performed with an objective
function to provide optimal product composition for the batch
reactive distillation: maximum productivity. An inferential
state estimator (an extended Kalman filter, EKF) based on
simplified mathematical models and on-line temperature
measurements, is incorporated to estimate the compositions in
the reflux drum and the reboiler. Model Predictive Control
(MPC) has been implemented to provide tracking of the
desired product compositions subject to simplified model
equations. Simulation results demonstrate that the inferential
state estimation can provide good estimates of compositions.
Therefore, the control performance of the MPC with the
inferential state is better than that of PID. In addition, in the
presence of unknown/uncertain parameters (forward reaction
rate constant), the estimator is still able to provide accurate
concentrations. As a result, the MPC with the inferential state
is still robust and applicable in real plants
Desain Perencanaan Instalasi Listrik di Gedung Operasi dan Bersalin Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang
Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr.Agoesdjam Ketapang sedang merencanakan pembangunan gedung baru yaitu gedung operasi dan bersalin. Gedung operasi dan bersalin rumah sakit umum daerah dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang direncanakan dengan luas bangunan 2032 m2 yang terdiri dari dua lantai. Agar terciptanya pelayanan yang baik, nyaman, tenang dan keamanan keselamatan jiwa manusia, perencanaan instalasi listrik pada bangunan rumah sakit ini harus sesuai dengan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) yaitu berdasarkan Persyaratan Umum Instalasi Listrik dan Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia Nomor 24 tahun 2016 tentang persyaratan teknis bangunan dan prasarana rumah sakit. Penelitian pada perencanaan instalasi gedung ini menggunakan metode studi studi literatur dan metode diskriptif analitik. Dalam perencanaan gedung operasi dan bersalin rumah sakit umum daerah dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang ini ada melakukan beberapa perhitungan untuk mencari kebutuhan iluminasi penerangan, kapasitas AC (Air Conditioner), besar pengaman, luas penampang, beban total, dan jatuh tegangan serta membuat line diagram. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan Analisa jumlah lampu yang akan digunakan adalah 433 buah lampu dan 41 buah Air Conditioner dengan total keseluruhan beban yang dibutuhkan di gedung operasi dan bersalin rumah sakit umum daerah dr.Agoesdjam Ketapang adalah 54,475 kW.
Modeling and simulation of VMD desalination process by ANN
YesIn this work, an artificial neural network (ANN) model based on the experimental data was developed to study the performance of vacuum membrane distillation (VMD) desalination process under different operating parameters such as the feed inlet temperature, the vacuum pressure, the feed flow rate and the feed salt concentration. The proposed model was found to be capable of predicting accurately the unseen data of the VMD desalination process. The correlation coefficient of the overall agreement between the ANN predictions and experimental data was found to be more than 0.994. The calculation value of the coefficient of variation (CV) was 0.02622, and there was coincident overlap between the target and the output data from the 3D generalization diagrams. The optimal operating conditions of the VMD process can be obtained from the performance analysis of the ANN model with a maximum permeate flux and an acceptable CV value based on the experiment
Normalized Double-Talk Detection Based on Microphone and AEC Error Cross-correlation
In this paper, we present two different double-talk detection schemes for Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC). First, we present a novel normalized detection statistic based on the cross-correlation coefficient between the microphone signal and the cancellation error. The decision statistic is designed in such a way that it meets the needs of an optimal double-talk detector. We also show that the proposed detection statistic converges to the recently proposed normalized cross-correlation based double-talk detector, the best known cross-correlation based detector. Next, we present a new hybrid double-talk detection scheme based on a cross-correlation coefficient and two signal detectors. The hybrid algorithm not only detects double-talk but also detects and tracks any echo-path variations efficiently. We compare our results with other cross-correlation based double-talk detectors to show their effectiveness
Medication-induced Uveitis: An Update
Drug-induced uveitis is an uncommon but important cause of ocular inflammation. Uveitis can be seen in association with various systemic, topical, and intraocular medications. In this article, we review common medications associated with uveitis. Most cases of drug-induced uveitis resolve with termination of the suspected medication with or without administration of topical or systemic steroids. It is important for clinicians to readily identify medications that may cause uveitis in order to provide rapid treatment, avoid consequences of longstanding inflammation, and prevent costly and excessive laboratory testing
