Spanish validation of the Shorter Version of the Workplace Incivility Scale: An employment status invariant measure
Workplace Incivility (WI) occurs worldwide and has negative consequences on individuals and organizations. Valid and comprehensive instruments have been used, specifically in English speaking countries, to measure sucadverse process at work, but it is not available a validated instrument for research carried out in Spanish speaking countries. In this study we aim to test the psychometric properties of the Matthews and Ritter’s four-item Workplace Incivility Scale (2016) with Spanish workers (N = 407) from different sectors. Participants’ mean age was 38.73 (SD = 10.45) years old and the percentage of female employees was 59.2%. Confirmatory factor analysis using AMOS 19.0 was carried out, presenting a good fit. The internal consistency, convergent and concurrent validity of the scale were examined. Results show good scale reliability and expected high correlations with social undermining. Moreover, the scale related to propensity to leave a job, job satisfaction, and psychological well-being in the expected way. After configural invariance across groups was established, testing for metric invariance and scalar invariance was performed. Considering Δχ2 and ΔCFI tests for two nested models, the 4-item scale was invariant when the employment status is considered (permanent vs. temporal, full-time vs. part-time, and supervisor vs. non-supervisors). Overall, our findings showed good psychometric properties of the shorter version of the WIS in Spain. Theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.Ministerio de EconomÃa y Competitividad de España PSI2015-64894-PFundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) Portugal SFRH/BPD/121748/201
Introduction of a variable Mercator map factor in the spectral part at the HARMONIE model
[EN]For large domains, a new formulation of the spectral computation has been implemented in the HARMONIE model. The formulation makes use of the rotated/tilted Mercator projection and of its map factor represented by a linear combination of low-order Fourier harmonics. The reference model uses the maximum value of the map factor over the whole area. The improvement between using the Fourier approximation or the maximum value of the map factor increases with the size of the integration domain. In the spectral part, three coefficients of the Fourier cosine series have been introduced through a simple diagonal multiplicative operator. The first results of these modifications are presented for semi-Lagrangian integrations with long timesteps
Grupos antivacunas.
Against the debt crisis, citizen audits

State – is the same ideology that used to strengthen the Structural Adjustment Plans (SAP), the blind faith on the market and the perception that the public sector is incapable of efficiently managing resources. Just like the SAP where imposed in the countries of the South to enable the privatization of public services, the management of natural resources and dropping labor costs, in Europe great market niches are released (healthcare, education, retirement pensions, …) while collateral amendments press down labor costs. In both
regions the crisis generated by the economic elites will be paid by the poorest social classes.Peer Reviewe
Dialogues on nature, class and gender: Revisiting socio-ecological reproduction in past organic advanced agriculture (Sentmenat, Catalonia, 1850)
The concept of socio-ecological reproduction allows linking some fundamental approaches and methods of Ecological, Feminist and Sraffian Economics. By accounting reproductive flows we highlight the material and time efforts required to maintain ecological funds (i.e. soil fertility and livestock) and social funds (i.e. labour force) of farm systems, as well as the role of social appropriation of the surplus that went beyond them in preindustrial class structures. Through the methodology proposed to estimate time, energy, nutrients and cash balances at household level we can infer relevant insights in terms of social organisation of labour and social distribution of produce in past organic advanced agricultures. Results show that the productive capacity of farmland and labour were quite similar across farms, while the farmland hoarding exerted by a wealthier ruling class defined the unequal distribution of produce. The match between subsistence needs and wages shows that nearly the whole potential surplus per labour unit was extracted. Dependence on reproducible funds implied the reinvestment of large amounts of renewable flows that constrained the amount of surplus appropriable. Finally, we deem that technical change and increase of total produce along socio-ecological transitions might have been affected by the social class structure of preindustrial societies
Coping Strategies against peer victimization: differences according to gender, grade, victimization status and perceived classroom social climate
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) include 'Good Health andWell-being' (SDG3) and 'Quality Education' (SDG4). Nevertheless, many students cannot achieve these goals if they suffer peer victimization at their schools, and intervention programs to reduce it are necessary. These programs should consider the possible differences in the coping strategies preferred by students according to some personal (e.g., gender, grade, victimization status) and contextual (e.g., perceived classroom social climate) factors to be more effective. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the possible differences in the coping strategies preferred by students (ask a friend for help, ask a teacher for help, ask parents for help, not ask anyone for help, fighting back, avoid the aggressor and ask the aggressor why) to handle situations of relational, physical and verbal peer victimization according to their gender, school grade, victimization status and perceived classroom social climate. The sample comprised 479 students (52.2% boys, 47.8% girls) aged from 9 to 14 years (M = 11.21, SD = 1.52). The results showed that girls chose the strategies of asking friends or adults for help and asking the aggressor why more than boys, while boys chose the strategies of fighting back and not ask anyone for help more than girls. The coping strategy of asking a teacher for help was preferred more by students of lower school grades and by students with a positive perception of the classroom climate. Victimized students preferred the strategy of not asking anyone for help. These results may be useful for developing more effective intervention programs. These programs should aim to enhance the teacher-student relationship in upper school grades, help victimized students to inform about peer aggression situations and improve perceived classroom social climate
