The aim of this study is to know the contribution of non-native teacher’s belief, native teacher’s belief and collaborative strategy toward students’ speaking achievement. This study uses associational quantitative research as the method of the research. The subject of this study are 40 students of the ninth grade at SMP N 1 Karangdowo. The data of Native and Non-native teacher’s belief are got from students’ perception. The techniques of collecting the data are questionnaire and test. The questionnaire is dealing with non-native teacher’s belief, native teacher’s belief and collaborative strategy and the test of the research is dealing with students’ speaking achievement. The data are analized using the descriptive statistic, classic assumption tests, multiple regressions test, and hypothesis testing that includes t-test, f-test, coefficient of determination and predictor contributions. The result shows that the formulation of multiple regression is Y = 10.074 + 0,078 X1 + 0,193 X2 + 0,362 X3. The signficant data has been got from the result of 2 T_test.The non-native teacher’s belief (X1) shows that result of t_result is 2,106 with the significant result is 0,042. The native teacher’s belief (X2) shows that result of t_result is 2,520 with the significant result is 0,016. The collaborative strategy (X3) shows that result of t_result is 3,271 with the significant result is 0,02. The result of F_result is 0,744 with the significant result is 0,000. The result of R2 is 0,52. These mean that there are positive and significant contributions of independent variables toward dependent variable

Estimated absolute effects on efficacy and safety outcomes of using non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants in 'real-world' atrial fibrillation patients:A comparison with optimally acenocoumarol anticoagulated patients

    Get PDF
Background Non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) have been proposed as an alternative to vitamin K antagonists (VKA) for atrial fibrillation (AF) patients. Some studies have proposed that well-managed warfarin therapy is still a valid alternative as efficacious as NOACs but the potential impact and absolute effect of NOACs in “real world” optimally management of VKA AF patients is unknown. Purpose To estimate the potential absolute benefit in clinical outcome rates if the optimally anticoagulated “real-world” AF patients with acenocoumarol had been treated with NOACs. Methods We included 1361 patients stable on acenocoumarol with a time in therapeutic range of 100% for the previous 6 months and 6.5 years of follow-up. The estimation of clinical events avoided was calculated applying absolute risk reductions, relative risk reductions and hazard ratios from the pivotal clinical trials, relative to acenocoumarol. Results Compared to acenocoumarol, the highest estimated event reduction for stroke was seen with dabigatran 150 mg, with an estimated reduction of 0.53%/year. For major bleeding, the highest estimated reduction was seen with apixaban (0.88%/year). For mortality, the largest estimated reduction was with dabigatran 150 mg (0.75%/year). In net clinical outcome, apixaban had the estimated highest reduction (1.23%/year). All NOACs showed significantly lower rates for intracranial haemorrhage. Conclusion In optimally acenocoumarol anticoagulated AF patients, estimated reductions in stroke, bleeding and net clinical outcomes with various NOACs are evident. NOACs would potentially show an improvement even among optimally VKA AF patients

Coracoid process morphology using 3D-CT imaging in a Malaysian population

Introduction: The aims of this study are to define the coracoid process anatomy in a Malaysian population, carried out on patients in Hospital Serdang with specific emphasis on the dimension of the base of coracoid process which is important in coraco-acromial (CC) ligament reconstruction, to define the average amount of bone available for use in coracoid transfer, and to compare the size of coracoid process based on gender and race, and with findings in previous studies. Materials and Methods: Fifteen pairs of computed tomography (CT) based 3-dimensional models of shoulders of patients aged between 20 to 60 years old were examined. The mean dimensions of coracoid were measured and compared with regards to gender and race. The data were also compared to previously published studies. Results: The mean length of the coracoid process was 37.94 ± 4.30 mm. Male subjects were found to have larger-sized coracoids in all dimensions as compared to female subjects. The mean tip of coracoid dimension overall was 19.99 + 1.93mm length × 10.03 + 1.48mm height × 11.63 + 2.12mm width. The mean base of coracoid dimension was 18.96 + 3.71mm length × 13.84 + 1.76mm width. No significant differences were observed with regards to racial denomination. The overall coracoid size measurements were found to be smaller compared to previous studies done on the Western population. Conclusion: This study may suggest that Malaysians have smaller coracoid dimension compared to Caucasians. The findings further suggest that the incidence of coracoid fracture and implants pull out in Malaysian subjects may be higher
