En este trabajo se expone el estado en cuestión de la vivienda vertical, así como conceptos generales de la densificación urbana. Se abordan las distintas ventajas de su uso, y aplicación en la ciudad de Torreón Coahuila, sin embargo también se incluyen los problemas que esta puede ocasionar si no se aplica de la forma adecuada. Hace una crítica hacia la forma de construir los desarrollos habitacionales verticales actualmente y propone un método constructivo para intentar mitigar los problemas que esta produce.This essay is expose the actual condition of vertical housing concepts, and how can be implemented as a tool for densification in urban areas. Approaching the pros and cons of its use, suggest a prototype that can be implemented in Torreon Coahuila City. ACORDE a Cosmic Ray Detector for ALICE

ACORDE is one of the ALICE detectors, presently under construction at CERN. It consists of an array of plastic scintillator counters placed on the three upper faces of the ALICE magnet. It will act as a cosmic ray trigger, and, together with other ALICE sub-detectors, will provide precise information on cosmic rays with primary energies around $10^{15} \div 10^{-17}$ eV. Evaluación sanitaria en toros de fomento del departamento de Cundinamarca, 1. Estudios bacteriológicos

Se examinaron 46 toros de diferentes razas pertenecientes a 18 granjas de fomento, situadas en igual número de municipios del departamento de Cundinamarca. Estos animales fueron examinados 3 veces con intervalos de un mes para brucelosis, leptospirosis y salmonelosis mediante exámenes serológicos y para campilobacteriosis, brucelosis, trichomoniasis y otro tipo de gérmenes corrientes en lavados prepuciales. 11 toros (23.9 por ciento) fueron positivos a trichomoniasis, 8 (17.3 por ciento) a campilobacteriosis, 20 (43.4 por ciento) reactores a salmonelosis, 13 (28.2 por ciento) reactores a brucelosis, 24 (52.17 por ciento) reactores a leptospirosis. De todos los animales examinados, 35 (76.0 por ciento) positivos a una o varias entidades fueron mencionadas anteriormente. Estos toros en el transcurso de un año han servido un total de 812 vacas de los municipios donde están localizadas las fincas de Fomento y alrededor de las cuales hay una población de 511312 bovinos. Teleparallel Version of the Levi-Civita Vacuum Solutions and their Energy Contents

In this paper, we find the teleparallel version of the Levi-Civita metric and obtain tetrad and the torsion fields. The tensor, vector and the axial-vector parts of the torsion tensor are evaluated. It is found that the vector part lies along the radial direction only while the axial-vector vanishes everywhere because the metric is diagonal. Further, we use the teleparallel version of M$\ddot{o}$ller, Einstein, Landau-Lifshitz and Bergmann-Thomson prescriptions to find the energy-momentum distribution of this metric and compare the results with those already found in General Relativity. It is worth mentioning here that momentum is constant in both the theories for all the prescriptions. The energy in teleparallel theory is equal to the corresponding energy in GR only in M$\ddot{o}$ller prescription for the remaining prescriptions, the energy do not agree in both theories. We also conclude that M$\ddot{o}$ller's energy-momentum distribution is independent of the coupling constant $\lambda$ in the teleparallel theory.Comment: 15 pages, accepted for publication in Canadian J. Performance of ALICE AD modules in the CERN PS test beam

Two modules of the AD detector have been studied with the test beam at the T10 facility at CERN. The AD detector is made of scintillator pads read out by wave-length shifters (WLS) coupled to clean fibres that carry the produced light to photo-multiplier tubes (PMTs). In ALICE the AD is used to trigger and study the physics of diffractive and ultra-peripheral collisions as well as for a variety of technical tasks like beam-gas background monitoring or as a luminometer. The position dependence of the modules' efficiency has been measured and the effect of hits on the WLS or PMTs has been evaluated. The charge deposited by pions and protons has been measured at different momenta of the test beam. The time resolution is determined as a function of the deposited charge. These results are important ingredients to better understand the AD detector, to benchmark the corresponding simulations, and very importantly they served as a baseline for a similar device, the Forward Diffractive Detector (FDD), being currently built and that will be in operation in ALICE during the LHC Runs 3 and 4.Peer reviewe
