    Promoting Lifelong Learning Through the Use of Self-Regulated Learning: a Guide for Intermediate Educators

    The author presented the concept of self-regulated learning (SRL) as a method to encourage students to become lifelong learners. A review of literature showed the need for lifelong learners. The literature revealed the theories behind SRL in education. In addition, the literature demonstrated that the components of SRL can be taught to students as young as the primary grades. This author developed a presentation that provided information for elementary educators; specifically intermediate educators, about SRL and how to establish a high SRL environment in their classrooms. Also addressed was the creation of collaborative communities as a support system for the teachers who are promoting SRL

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji apakah kebijakan pendanaan, kebijakan dividen, ukuran perusahaan, komisaris independen, kepemilikan institusional, komite audit dan kepemilikan manajerial berpengaruh terhadap kualitas laba pada perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling pada perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) selama periode 2013 – 2017 dimana sampel dipilih dengan berdasarkan dari kriteria yang sudah ditentukan maka diperoleh sampel sebanyak 35 perusahaan dengan pengamatan selama lima tahun sehingga total sampel yang didapat adalah sejumlah 175. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel kebijakan pendanaan, kebijakan dividen, komisaris independen, kepemilikan institusional, komite audit dan kepemilikan manajerial tidak berpengaruh terhadap kualitas laba. Sedangkan untuk variabel ukuran perusahaan mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap kualitas laba yang berarti bahwa ukuran peusahaan yang besar memiliki kualitas laba yang tinggi karena perusahaan tidak akan melakukan praktik manajemen laba.     PENERAPAN QUANTUM TEACHING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS DAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS III SEKOLAH DASAR

    Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Hal ini dikarenakan cara mengajar guru yang masih konvensional, sehingga siswa menjadi bosan dan belum mendorong siswa untuk terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penerapan Quantum Teaching untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, refleksi yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas III di sekolah dasar negeri di salah satu kecamatan Sukasari sebanyak 26 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang di gunakan untuk pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh untuk aktivitas belajar yaitu pada tindakan siklus I mencapai 78,9%, sedangkan pada tindakan siklus II meningkat sebesar 17% yaitu mencapai 92,01% dan hasil penelitian untuk hasil belajar siswa yang telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yaitu sebesar 88,4%. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa menerapkan Quantum Teaching mampu meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar. ;---This research in the wake of the low activity and learning outcomes Elementary School third grade students. This is because a way of teaching the teachers who are still conventional, so that students become bored and have not been encouraging students to be actively involved in the learning activities. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of Quantum Teaching to improve the activity and learning outcomes Elementary School third grade students. The research method used in this research is classroom action research (PTK) and Mc Kemmis models. Taggart of planning, execution, observation, reflection consisting of 2 cycles. The subjects were students of class III in a public elementary school in one of the districts Sukasari many as 26 people. The research instruments used for data processing in this study is the observation sheet and test. The results obtained for the learning activity that is at the cycle I reached 78.9%, while in the second cycle increased by 17%, reaching 92.01%, and the results for student learning outcomes that have achieved success indicator is equal to 88.4 %. From these results it can be concluded that applying Quantum Teaching can increase the activity and student learning outcomes Elementary School third grade

    Ink Painting of Orchids among the Literati in the Qing and Choson Dynasties

    Genres of cultural products have flowed in and out between China and Korea for thousands of years. It is well known that among these genres, the orchid was one of the most elegant subjects in ink painting. Although research has shown which types and how many works have been exchanged between the two countries, the ideas beneath the works deserve greater attention. The works of Kim Chong-hui (1786-1856) in the late Choson Dynasty are particularly valuable. Well known as a great calligrapher and erudite scholar, Kim profoundly explored art history and theory and was especially knowledgeable about successive painters of traditional orchid paintings, from Zheng Suonan to Zheng Xie. Though he was most interested in Zheng Xie\u27s works, Kim only selectively applied Zheng\u27s ideas because of his strongly kept traditional literati morals, including an adherence to the strict morals of zhongyong, the Doctrine of the Mean. Another master in ink painting of orchids in the Choson Dynasty was Cho Hui-ryong (1789-1866) who, although a member of the literati, did not belong to the scholar-official class. Cho resisted the traditional values of scholarship on literati paintings for more individual and worldly values, intending to follow Zheng\u27s ideas but altering them instead. Kim and Cho seem to have admired different aspects of Zheng\u27s ideas on orchid painting

    The Depiction of Black and White Women Relation in Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker Novel written by Jennifer Chiaverini

                This study tried to analyze black and white women’s depiction in the novel Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker (2013) written by Jennifer Chiaverini. This study used a descriptive qualitative method by approaching the data from hegemony perspective. It is assumed that the depiction of black and white women in the novel was having an ideological power in order to strengthen white supremacy as well as black stereotype. The sources of data in this study consisted of primary data; the text of the novel Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker and secondary data was taken from the memoir of Elizabeth Keckley; Behind the Scene: Thirty Years a Slave, or, Four Years in the White House. The researcher collected the data by reading, take-noting, identifying, and grouping the data. The data analysis technique is describing, interpreting, analyzing, and concluding the analysis. This study found that, first, the depiction of black and white women. The black woman is depicted as skilled and beautiful in the beauty standard of white women; White woman is depicted as a beautiful woman who is good at politics, second, the relation of those women in the context of position; Mistress vs Servant and Deceiver vs Deceived. Mistress is depicted through the white woman character, while the servant is depicted through the black character. The deceiver is depicted through the white woman, while the deceived is a black woman. This study claimed that the novel Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker is a medium to build and maintain the white ideology by rewriting the black memoir.   &nbsp

    PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS, INOVATIF DAN KREATIF SERTA MEMOTIVASI BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK DALAM PEMBELAJARAN SIKLUS AKUNTANSI PERUSAHAAN DAGANG DI KELAS XII SOS 1 SMA NEGERI 1 LARANTUKA TAHUN AJA

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui terjadinya peningkatan keterampilan    berpikir kritis, inovatif dan kreatif serta memotivasi belajar peserta didik dalam pembelajaran siklus akuntansi perusahaan dagang di kelas XII SOS 1 SMA NEGERI 1 Larantuka tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian tindakan dengan tahapan meliputi: perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi/evaluasi, dan refleksi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan metode tes prestasi belajar. Analisis data mempergunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil ketika dilaksanakan tindakan siklus I menunjukan bahwa peserta didik memperoleh nilai belum baik karena masih terdapat 14 peserta didik yang belum tuntas dari 32 jumlah peserta didik. Hasil penelitian pada siklus II, memberikan manfaat yang baik bagi peserta didik. Metode yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menggunakan diskusi ini memberikan ruang untuk berkomunikasi yang baik antara teman dalam mempresentasikan hasil diskusi yang berdampaik bagi keterampilan berpikir kritis, inovatif dan efektif yang berdampak pada hasil belajar yaitu 100% tuntas. Sedangkan motivasi belajar peserta didik pada siklus ke II tinggi dengan rata-rata 91.25% yaitu 18 peserta didik memberi jawaban, ide/gagasan saat diskusi kelompok (sangat baik) dan 14 peserta didik menjawab pertanyaan dari guru 80% (baik). Ketercapaian peserta didik sesuai kriteria ketuntasan minimal semuanya tuntas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat diinterpretasikan bahwa dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan    berpikir kritis, inovatif dan kreatif serta memotivasi belajar peserta didik kelas XII SOS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Larantuka Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021
