    Nocturnal Coleoptera and Hemiptera Diversity at Giam Siak Kecil Bukit Batu Biosphere Reserve Indonesia

    Giam Siak Kecil Bukit Batu is a biosphere reserve which one of its functions is as a habitat for wildlife. However, biodiversity data in the Giam Siak Kecil Bukit Batu Biosphere Reserve (GSKBB-BR) is still very minimal, including insects (Coleoptera and Hemiptera). This research was conducted to determine the diversity of Coleoptera and Hemiptera in the GSKBB Biosphere Reserve, Riau, Indonesia. The research was carried out using an exploratory method using "lights trap". The results of the study found 30 species, from 11 families of the order Coleoptera (23 species) and Hemiptera (7 species) in the GSKBB-BR. The diversity index of Coleoptera and Hemiptera at the observation site was moderate (H = 2.73), with a high evenness index (0.80). Scarabaeidae (order Coleoptera) is the family with the highest number of species found (8 species), while the most abundant species were Tibicen linnei and Pomponia fusca (Cicadidae/Hemiptera). Based on their functional roles, Coleoptera and Hemiptera with the highest number are herbivores (17 species), followed by predators (7 species) and decomposers (3 species). The range of values for temperature and humidity at the research site are in normal conditions. The GSKBB-BR area is an important remaining habitat for wildlife in Riau, including various types of insects (Coleoptera and Hemiptera); whose potential still needs to be revealed, and must be managed properly

    Pengaruh Penerapan Model Sinektik Terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Puisi Siswa Kelas IVSD Negeri No. 31 Sampeang Kecamatan Bajo Barat Kabupaten Luwu

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model sinektik terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas IV SD Negeri No. 31 Sampeang Kecamatan Bajo Barat Kabupaten Luwu. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Bagaimanakah gambaran penerapan model sinektik siswa kelas IV SD Negeri No. 31 Sampeang Kecamatan Bajo Barat Kabupaten Luwu, (2) Bagaimanakah gambaran keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas IV SD Negeri No. 31 Sampeang Kecamatan Bajo Barat Kabupaten Luwu, dan (3) Apakah terdapat pengaruh penerapan model sinektik terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa Kelas IV SD Negeri No. 31 Sampeang Kecamatan Bajo Barat Kabupaten Luwu. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Quasi Experimental dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Grup Desaign.Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah keterampilan menulis puisi, sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah penggunaan model sinektik. Adapun populasi penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Negeri No. 31 Sampeang Kecamatan Bajo Barat Kabupaten Luwu. Sampel yang terpilih berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling dengan Kelas IV A sebagai kelas kontrol dan IV B sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan masing-masing terdiri dari 21 jumlah siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statsistik inferensial yang terdiri dari uji hipotesis menggunakan Independent Sampel T-test. (1) Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model sinektik siswa dikategorikan efektif dikarenakan persentase yang diperoleh untuk setiap pertemuan pada kemampuan guru dalam mengolah pembelajaran dan akivitas siswa mengalami peningkatan dari kategori efektif menjadi kategori sangat efektif. (2) keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas eksperimen lebih meningkat dibandingkan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas kontrol karena nilai post-test pada kelas eksperimen berada pada kategori sangat efektif sedangkan pada kelas kontrol berada pada kategori efektif. (3) Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan model sinektik terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa Kelas IV SD Negeri No. 31 Sampeang Kecamatan Bajo Barat Kabupaten Luwu.     Synchronous machine parameter identification in frequency and time domain

    This paper presents the results of a frequency and time-domain identification procedure to estimate the linear parameters of a salient-pole synchronous machine at standstill. The objective of this study is to use several input signals to identify the model structure and parameters of a salient-pole synchronous machine from standstill test data. The procedure consists to define, to conduct the standstill tests and also to identify the model structure. The signals used for identification are the different excitation voltages at standstill and the flowing current in different windings. We estimate the parameters of operational impedances, or in other words the reactance and the time constants. The tests were carried out on synchronous machine of 1.5 kVA 380V 1500 rpm

    Pupuk organik diperkaya memiliki kandungan unsur hara yang lengkap, sehingga cocok diaplikasikan pada budidaya tabulampot jambu air Madu Deli Hijau (MDH). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pupuk organik diperkaya terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tabulampot jambu air MDH. Penelitian ini dilakukan di lahan percobaan mulai bulan Maret sampai Juli 2018, menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 3 perlakuan, yaitu: kontrol negatif (tanpa pupuk), kontrol positif (penambahan Urea dan NPK), dan penambahan pupuk organik dosis 3 kg/pot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi pupuk organik diperkaya berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pertambahan jumlah daun dan jumlah cabang primer, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata pada pertambahan tinggi dan jumlah cabang sekunder. Hasil uji Duncan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk organik diperkaya memiliki pengaruh yang sama dengan kontrol positif, sehingga aplikasi pupuk organik diperkaya pada tabulampot jambu air MDH dianggap efektif dan mampu menggantikan aplikasi pupuk anorganik

    The dynamics of student character formation through learning that is how the contents of learning, activities of educating, teaching, training, and guiding. From the perspective of the content of learning the success of a learning process is seen from the formation of character. The learning that has taken place in educational institutions in the city of Makassar has so far emphasized self-actualization. Indicators of success can be seen from individual excellence to beat competitors. This is the reference in this study that education is so important for intelligent character in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the application of intelligent character learning through learning "Higt�Touch and Higt-Tech" in Makassar City, (2) the problem of learning smart character through learning "Higt-Touch and Higt-Tech" in the City Makassar. This type of research is a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The type of data in this study consists of primary and secondary data, with data collection techniques namely interview, documentation and observation techniques. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative technique. The results of this study indicate that (1) the application of intelligent character learning through learning "Higt-Touch and Higt-Tech" in Makassar can be known with three parameters: learning that is able to increase competence in the form of understanding (knowledge), skills, and the values of Pancasila as the nation's character. (2) the problems of intelligent character learning through learning "Higt-Touch and Higt-Tech" in Makassar City are: students are not comfortable and lack enthusiasm to be and learn in the school environment, learning is felt as a difficult activity, the practice of violence and punishment, learning management, schools allow for discrimination, and lack of closeness between students and educators

    Investigation of Potential Grounding Compound for Portable Applications

    This paper applies to the electrical engineering world by making earthing system portable in providing low and acceptable resistance path. The system is develop in a small scale portable earthing system against the massiveness of Earth and becomes leverage if soil at the place is not suitable for plant grounding system. Hence, this paper presents findings on the research of new grounding medium material that will be housed in a small scale enclosure which behaves like native earth related earthing system by using kaolin and bauxite. The data obtained from lightning flashover testing, morphological and chemical composition of material analysis indicated that bauxite is more useful for portable grounding system application much better than kaolin in term of zero reference point function. The portable earthing system can be apply to air aviation systems , railway systems and military sectors particularly for electronic equipment zero referencing

    Kombinasi Pati Sukun Termodifikasi Osa (Octenyl Succinic Anhydride) Dan Lesitin Sebagai Penstabil Emulsi Minyak Dalam Air

    Produk pangan berbasis emulsi seperti susu, mayonnaise, salad dressing dan margarin sangat diminati masyarakat. Emulsi biasanya distabilkan oleh surfaktan, protein dan polisakarida. Pati termasuk biopolimer polisakarida yang berperan penting sebagai penstabil, namun harus dimodifikasi terlebih dahulu untuk memperbaiki sifat fisiko-kimianya. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji peranan pati sukun termodifikasi OSA (Octenyl Succinic Anhydride) sebagai penstabil emulsi minyak dalam air (m/a) bersama-sama dengan lesitin sebagai surfaktan. Desain penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial dua faktor, yaitu penambahan pati sukun OSA (1% dan 2%) serta konsentrasi minyak (25% dan 40%) dengan tiga kali ulangan. Pati sukun terlebih dahulu dikarakterisasi dengan mengukur kadar air, abu, serat, protein, dan kadar lemak sebelum dan setelah modifikasi serta pengukuran derajat substitusi (DS). Adapun parameter kestabilan emulsi yang diuji meliputi pengukuran viskositas, penghitungan nilai creaming index (CI), dan emulsifying activity (EA) selama penyimpanan 10 hari. Analisa proksimat menunjukkan nilai yang tidak jauh berbeda antara pati sebelum dan sesudah modifikasi kecuali kadar protein yang menurun secara signifikan dari 5,25 % menjadi 3,50% setelah pati dimodifikasi. Nilai derajat substitusi pati sukun modifikasi adalah 0,0243. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap viskositas dan nilai CI, dimana peningkatan konsentrasi OSA dan minyak menurunkan nilai CI namun meningkatkan viskositas emulsi yang dihasilkan. Penyimpanan emulsi selama 10 hari menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi pati OSA dan minyak meningkatkan nilai EA yang membuktikan bahwa pemisahan emulsi dapat diminimalkan selama penyimpanan. Emulsi yang paling stabil (nilai EA 100%) diperoleh dari perlakuan terbaik yaitu konsentrasi 2% pati OSA dan 40% minyak

    First assessment of pollution impact at Essaouira coast (Morocco) using biotic and abiotic parameters and the red algae Ellisolandia elongata as potential bioindicator of organic pollution

    Environmental pollutants might significantly affect the ecological integrity of coastal waters. Biological indicators like seaweeds have been used globally to assess water pollution. In the present work, the seaweed Ellisolandia elongata was used to evaluate the pollution status in coastal waters around Essaouira city. Three sites were chosen: One as reference station (S1) and two polluted ones (S2 and S3). Seaweed biodiversity, physiologic parameters of E. elongata, as well as, abiotic parameters were studied. Results showed that at the polluted stations, seaweed biodiversity was significantly lower than in S1. However, the concentrations of Total Suspended Solids, Electrical Conductivity, Biological Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Ammonium, and Orthophosphates at S2 were significantly higher than at S1. Metal content of E. elongata remained below detection limit at all stations except for Zn and Cu at S2 considered the most polluted station. With respect to the physiologic parameters, Proline, Glycine Betaine and Polyphenol contents at S2 were above, whereas, Chlorophyll a content and axis length were below those determined at the reference station. From the results it can be concluded that seaweed E. elongata could be a good indicator to determine organic pollution in marine ecosystem
