This study is focused on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation factor to teach in kabupaten Melawi. Which is the focuses on the factors intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of surviving teachers teaches in remote areas. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of teachers teaching in remote areas persist at SD Negeri 08 Kayu Bunga kecamatan Belimbing Hulu, that consist of 6 people as the primary data. This study is qualitative, case study approach. While the data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study through the stages of data reduction, data display, data verification, and conclusion. The results of this study can be concluded, generally the main factor of the teacher to teach in remote areas are factors intrinsic motivation, they are a sense of responsibility towards children's education in the remote area, profession as noble, and teachers received an award from the local community. While extrinsic motivation factors are the cooperation of teachers, a composed environment and an evaluation of the principal

A common neural substrate for language production and verbal working memory

Verbal working memory (VWM), the ability to maintain and manipulate representations of speech sounds over short periods, is held by some influential models to be independent from the systems responsible for language production and comprehension [e.g., Baddeley, A. D. Working memory, thought, and action. New York, NY: Oxford University Press, 2007]. We explore the alternative hypothesis that maintenance in VWM is subserved by temporary activation of the language production system [Acheson, D. J., & MacDonald, M. C. Verbal working memory and language production: Common approaches to the serial ordering of verbal information. Psychological Bulletin, 135, 50–68, 2009b]. Specifically, we hypothesized that for stimuli lacking a semantic representation (e.g., nonwords such as mun), maintenance in VWM can be achieved by cycling information back and forth between the stages of phonological encoding and articulatory planning. First, fMRI was used to identify regions associated with two different stages of language production planning: the posterior superior temporal gyrus (pSTG) for phonological encoding (critical for VWM of nonwords) and the middle temporal gyrus (MTG) for lexical–semantic retrieval (not critical for VWM of nonwords). Next, in the same subjects, these regions were targeted with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) during language production and VWM task performance. Results showed that rTMS to the pSTG, but not the MTG, increased error rates on paced reading (a language production task) and on delayed serial recall of nonwords (a test of VWM). Performance on a lexical–semantic retrieval task (picture naming), in contrast, was significantly sensitive to rTMS of the MTG. Because rTMS was guided by language production-related activity, these results provide the first causal evidence that maintenance in VWM directly depends on the long-term representations and processes used in speech production

The objective of this research are to improve the learning achievement in Accounting through comic media in the learning strategy of preview question read reflect recite review (PQ4R) of the students in Grade XI of Social Science Program 5 of State Senior Secondary School. This research used the classroom action research. The primary subjects of the research were the students as many as 30 in Grade XI of Social Science Program 5 of State Senior Secondary School. The data of the research were gathered through test, observation, and in-depth interview. The data of the research were validated by using the data triangulation and the technique triangulation. They were then analyzed by using the interactive model of analysis. The procedures of the research included four interrelated phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The result of the research shows that the media comic in the learning strategy of PQ4R can improve the learning achievement in Accounting of the students Grade XI of Social Science Program 5 of State Senior Secondary School in Cycles I, II, and III. Based on the result of the research, a conclusion is drawn that the use of the comic media in the learning strategy of PQ4R can improve the learning achievement in Accounting of the students in in Grade XI of Social Science Program 5 of State Senior Secondary School

This study bertjuan to analyze regional competitiveness in encouraging foreign direct investment (FDI) in Riau Province. Having regard to the economic sectors and infrastructure base. This study uses time series data between the years 2006-2011, using the Location Question (LQ) with qualitative descriptive analysis to analyze the sectors that affect foreign investment. Results of this study showed that during the period 2006-2011 leading sectors are owned Riau four sectors, namely agriculture, construction, Commerce, sector, hotels and restaurants, and the services sector. This is because the value of LQ in each of these sectors is above 1. Not all sectors of the base that is in Riau province to encourage foreign investment as the four sectors, the sector was able to absorb the non base of foreign investors to invest in the province of Riau as happened in the manufacturing sector, this is evidenced by the many processing industries are being easy target for foreign investors to invest their capital. Keywords: Competitiveness, Foreign Investment, Infrastructur

The anticancer agent prodigiosin is not a multidrug resistance protein substrate

The brilliant red pigments prodiginines are natural secondary metabolites that are produced by select species of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. These molecules have received significant attention due to their reported antibacterial, antifungal, immunosuppressive, and anticancer activities. In this study, a Serratia marcescens SER1 strain was isolated and verified using 16s rDNA. The prodigiosin was purified using silica chromatography and was analyzed by 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The cell cytotoxic effects of

Nonlinear photonics properties of porphyrins nanocomposites and self-assembled porphyrins

    Get PDF
Two major reasons limit porphyrins photonic applications: (i) the difficulty of handling them in liquid solutions and (ii) their degradation with long exposure to light. This necessitates the use of appropriate solid matrices to host the porphyrin compounds such as Nafion (117), a stable and inert ion exchange polymer. The first part of this publication confirms such a possibility. In addition to their effective NLO properties, an enhancement of the Soret and Q-bands absorbance width have been observed by blending three different porphyrin molecules in the Nafion column matrix membrane. This is an important development towards achieving efficient photon-harvesting medium for possible application in photonic devices. The second part of this contribution reports on the self-assembly/molecular recognition of a specific class of porphyrins giving rise to tubular nano-systems with potential THG nonlinear properties

The Hilbert basis method for D-flat directions and the superpotential

    Get PDF
We discuss, using the Hilbert basis method, how to efficiently construct a complete basis for D-flat directions in supersymmetric Abelian and non-Abelian gauge theories. We extend the method to discrete (R and non-R) symmetries. This facilitates the construction of a basis of all superpotential terms in a theory with given symmetries.Comment: 11 pages; a related mathematica code can be found at http://einrichtungen.ph.tum.de/T30e/codes/NonAbelianHilbert
