On the number of outer connected dominating sets of graphs

Let G=(V,E)G=(V,E) be a simple graph. A set SV(G)S\subseteq V(G) is called an outer-connected dominating set (or ocd-set) of GG, if SS is a dominating set of GG and either S=V(G)S=V(G) or V\SV\backslash S is a connected graph. In this paper we introduce a polynomial which its coefficients are the number of ocd-sets of GG. We obtain some properties of this polynomial and its coefficients. Also we compute this polynomial for some specific graphs.Comment: 1 pag

We consider an admissible estimator for the rth power of a scale parameter that is lower or upper bounded in a subclass of the scale-parameter exponential family under the entropy loss function. An admissible estimator for a bounded parameter in the family of transformed chi-square distributions is also given.Розглянуто допустиму оцiнку для r-го степеня параметра масштабу, обмеженого зверху або знизу у пiдкласi експоненцiальної сiм’ї параметрiв масштабу з ентропiйною функцiєю втрат. Lemon Juice as a Natural Catalyse for Synthesis of Shiff’s base: A Green Chemistry Approach

The advantages of the use of natural catalysts are eco-friendly, inexpensive, high yields, nonhazardous and short reaction times. The utilization of green chemistry techniques is the elimination of solvents during chemical processes or the replacement of hazardous solvents with environmentally friendly solvents. Green chemistry has used for the synthesis of Schiff bases. Synthesis of Schiff base is carried out the mixture of aldehyde (or ketone) and amine in organic medium with or without an acid catalyst. He presents study Uses Lemon juice as a natural and eco-friendly catalyst in the green chemistry investigated. The synthesized product was characterized by its physical properties, melting point, TLC and then subjected to the in vitro antibacterial activities against gram-positive and gram-negative strains of microbes

Investigation of the Relationship between the Presence of Chromosomal and Plasmid-Encoded AmpC Genes and Type of Clinical Specimen in Pseudomonas Aeruginosa

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Different clinical specimens play a decisive role in the type and nature of drug resistance in pathogenic organisms. Occasionally, the presence of certain antibiotic resistance genes is associated with the type of clinical specimen. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the presence of chromosomal and plasmid-encoded AmpC genes and type of clinical specimen in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. METHODS: In this descriptive and experimental study, 114 isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and clinical specimens including blood, urine, wound secretion, burn injuries were collected from teaching hospitals in Hamadan. The presence of chromosomal and plasmid-encoded AmpC genes was evaluated using multiplex PCR technique. FINDINGS: The plasmid-encoded AmpC genes were observed more than chromosomal genes in Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates. The FOX gene with a value of 29 (37.66%) (p≤0.037) and DHA gene with a value of 5(6.4%) (p≤0.015) in plasmid-encoded AmpC genes, while FOX gene with a value of 39 (48.75%) (p≤0.001) and MOX gene with a value of 2 (7.36%) in chromosomal AmpC genes had the highest and lowest frequency, respectively. CONCLUSION: The results of the study showed that the presence of chromosomal and plasmid-encoded AmpC genes may have various frequencies according to the type of clinical specimen

Bacterial biofilm in colorectal cancer: What is the real mechanism of action?

    Get PDF
Human colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer around the world. Colorectal cancer has various risk factors, but current works have bolded a significant activity for the microbiota of the human colon in the development of this disease. Bacterial biofilm has been mediated to non-malignant pathologies like inflammatory bowel disease but has not been fully documented in the setting of colorectal cancer. The investigation has currently found that bacterial biofilm is mediated to colon cancer in the human and linked to the location of human cancer, with almost all right-sided adenomas of colon cancers possessing bacterial biofilm, whilst left-sided cancer is rarely biofilm positive. The profound comprehension of the changes in colorectal cancer can provide interesting novel concepts for anticancer treatments. In this review, we will summarize and examine the new knowledge about the links between colorectal cancer and bacterial biofilm. © 202

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Based Tool to Estimate Contact Time

    Get PDF
MDT Project # 9929-819MDT is in the process of modernizing their contract time determination processes by developing user-friendly tools to facilitate the estimation process of project duration and contract time. As part of this modernization effort, a top-down project duration estimation tool was developed in this research project. This tool is particularly useful when there is limited project information available during the early preconstruction stages. This research project involved the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based model that can predict the most probable duration of a construction project using an early cost estimate, major controlling work items, and their estimated quantities as input values. Additionally, a regression model with the same set of input variables was developed as a companion to the AI model. The models were trained and tested using historical project data of more than 1,000 highway projects from 2008 to 2019. To operationalize the models, a user-friendly Microsoft Excel tool named AI-PDET (Artificial Intelligence based Project Duration Estimation Model) was created. AI-PDET can be used throughout the preconstruction phases to quickly determine a reasonable project duration for proper project planning and delivery. Furthermore, it can serve as a reality check tool alongside bottom-up tools during the procurement stage. This report also provides specific guidance on updating the models and the database with new project data in AI-PDET

Caro, S. and Merlet, J.P., “Failure Analysis of a Collaborative 4-1 Cable-Driven Parallel Robot”, Proceedings of the 8th European Conference on Mechanism Science (EuCoMeS2020), Cluj-Napoca, Romania, September 7–10, 2020Cable-Driven Parallel Robots (CDPRs) have been little used so far for collaborative tasks with humans. One reason is the lack of solutions to guarantee the safety of the operators in case of failure. Therefore, this paper aims to determine the possible failures of CDPRs when they are used for collaborative work with humans and to provide technical solutions to ensure the safety of the operators. A translational three degrees-of-freedom CDPR composed of four cables connected to a point-mass end-effector is considered as an illustrative example. The cables are supposed to be ideal, namely, they are not elastic and do not exhibit sagging
