Bonelli’s eagle,
Hieraaetus fasciatus
, has recently suffered a severe population decline
and is currently endangered. Spain supports about 70% of the European population.
We used stepwise logistic regression on a set of environmental, spatial and human
variables to model Bonelli’s eagle distribution in the 5167 UTM 10

of peninsular Spain. We obtained a model based on 16 variables, which allowed us to
identify favourable and unfavourable areas for this species in Spain, as well as intermediate
favourability areas. We assessed the stepwise progression of the model by
comparing the model’s predictions in each step with those of the final model, and
selected a parsimonious explanatory model based on three variables — slope, July
temperature and precipitation — comprising 76% of the predictive capacity of th
palavra muntu significa ‘verdadeiramente humano’.
propiciam e auxiliam a aprendizagem. Existem várias características do aprendente
The Handbook to English as a Lingua Franca Practices for Inclusive Multilingual Classrooms
This handbook is an important companion for future users of the ENRICH CPD Course, including, but not limited to: (a) pre- or in-service English language teachers who may wish to engage with the CPD materials and activities at their own pace; (b) teacher educators who would like to employ the CPD materials and activities with their own trainees; (c ) researchers in the fields which ENRICH revolves around (e.g., English as a Lingua Franca, multilingualism, English language pedagogy) who may be interested in finding out whether, and how, information gathered through ENRICH could inform their research studies; and (d) members of educational policy- making organisations and institutions which may want to explore the relevance of ENRICH to their own professional endeavours. It is divided into five main chapters where the ENRICH project is firstly introduced, followed by an explanation of the needs analysis for the development of the CPD Course, a rationale for the target audience, a detailed description of each of the CPD Course sections, and a final reflection on the evaluation of the Course and lessons learnt.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
InqExpert: An application for textual treatment of the Royal Inquiries of 1258
In this paper, we present the construction of a software application, particularly tailored for
the quantitative analysis of Royal Inquiries of 1258, named InqExpert, which enables us to
look for information, in several domains (e.g. metrology), over all its corpus in a fast and
rigorous way. This corpus represents in itself a paradox in the Portuguese historiography:
researchers that usually complaint about the lack of sources then move backwards in presence
of a huge amount of information. To help them in solving this paradox, the InqExpert was
developed to fit the usual historian needs but also to support releases that integrate several
advanced techniques in Text Mining.peerreviewe
Mentres nos adultos, a relación non vai tan dirixido a un nivel morfolóxico, debido ó desenvolvemento global das estruturas do pé onde é máis difícil provocar alteracións de tipo morfolóxico nun grado tan elevado, pero estaría mais encaminado a alteracións da función muscular onde é posible unha lixeira diminución no arco lonxitudinal internos relacionados con maiores tensións das estructuras proximais, causando molestias de manera continua.[Abstract] Objective: literature review aimed to examine and review existing scientific literature on the influence of obesity on the morphology of the foot and adjacent structures.
Methodology: We conducted a literature search on four electronic databases: Cochrane Library, PubMed, Isi web of knowledge, and Scopus, selecting articles published between 2005 and 2015, during the months of February and March, applying exclusion criteria as the project.
Results: After searching cited above, 17 met the inclusion criteria selected for the job.
Conclusions: It is shown that obesity impacts on foot as far as morphology is concerned, but this involvement varies age ranges in which we move. I causing a part in children, increased across the foot to drop the height level of the scaphoid with stiff character that can be defined in discomfort or development of compensation in distal joints such as the knee and hip, compared with children who weigh generating normal and musculoskeletal pain more assiduously type, which becomes a vicious cycle, as in the present pain, avoid physical exercise is one of the main items when it comes to losing weight. In this case it should salientar the possibility of a flatfoot own age physiological type. While in adults, the relationship does not go as aimed at a morphological level, due to the overall development of the structures of the foot and more difficult to make them look overdue, but alterations of muscle function and where it is possible a slight decrease in the internal longitudinal arch tensions related to proximal cause discomfort continuously.Traballo fin de grao (UDC.FEP). Teaching and learning English as an international language in Portugal: policy, practice and perceptions
This study consists in identifying and analyzing the theory and practice of English language teaching (ELT) in Portugal as far as issues of English as an International Language (EIL) are concerned. Through qualitative and quantitative research approaches (273 questionnaires, 22 interviews, 12 sets of pedagogic materials and 11 documents), it examines, firstly, aspects of EIL in the current basis and secondary education national policies and how ELT materials have interpreted the national guidelines and, secondly, how teachers and students view central aspects of EIL.
There is an overall tendency for ELT in Portugal to incorporate the concept of EIL not only because most subjects show awareness of the global role of English today but also because the national ELT policies embrace the notion of EIL. However, while the current policies suggest that English classes should integrate linguistic and cultural aspects of English speaking communities, such directives do not seem to be fully developed in the classroom. Although the English syllabus and textbooks for basic and secondary education show some significant references to some English speaking cultures and English varieties, mainly American English (AmE), some subjects displayed some quite conservative attitudes towards English learning and teaching stating that British English (BrE) is the only variety to be learned and that there is not much usefulness in learning about other varieties.
To conclude, this study identifies possible consequences that the findings may bring to the teaching of English in the international, European and Portuguese contexts. Moreover, it emphasizes the importance of expanding the EIL debate to include the voices of the Expanding Circle, in the sense that a thorough analysis of learners’ and teachers’ attitudes toward EIL can help identify the present state and future developments in the use of English all over the world
