This paper deals with the application of multi-agent system concept for optimization of dynamic uncertain process. These problems are known to have a computationally demanding objective function, which could turn to be infeasible when large problems are considered. Therefore, fast approximations to the objective function are required. This paper employs bundle of intelligent systems algorithms tied together in a multi-agent system. In order to demonstrate the system, a metal reheat furnace scheduling problem is adopted for highly demanded optimization problem. The proposed multi-agent approach has been evaluated for different settings of the reheat furnace scheduling problem. Particle Swarm Optimization, Genetic Algorithm with different classic and advanced versions: GA with chromosome differentiation, Age GA, and Sexual GA, and finally a Mimetic GA, which is based on combining the GA as a global optimizer and the PSO as a local optimizer. Experimentation has been performed to validate the multi-agent system on the reheat furnace scheduling problem

The article is devoted to a problem of acceleration of objects detection process on the images, the multiscale scanning based on use. For the solution of this task it is offered to use preliminary processing of candidates with use of integrated characteristics which is realized as the first stage of the classifiers cascade of the mixed type. As a test task the problem of detection on digital images of cars registration plates is chosen. The received cascade of classifiers allowed to increase computational performance of images processing at detection of registration plates by 1.6 times in comparison with the cascade of linear classifiers received by means of AdaBoost algorithm. Results of the made experiments can be extended to problems of search of other objects on images

The toxicity of chlorpyrifos towards differentiating mouse N2a neuroblastoma cells

The aim of this work was to study the effects of chlorpyrifos (CPF) on the outgrowth of axons by differentiating mouse N2a neuroblastoma cells. This was achieved by morphological, Western blotting and enzymatic analyses of cells induced to differentiate in the presence and absence of CPF added either at the same time (co-differentiation) or 16 h after (post-differentiation) the induction of cell differentiation. The outgrowth of axon-like processes was impaired following 4 or 8 h exposure to CPF in both co- and post-differentiation experiments. Western blotting analysis revealed reduced levels of neurofilament heavy chain (NF-H) following 8 h of exposure but no significant effect at 4 h under both co- and post-differentiation conditions. By contrast, levels of the heat shock protein HSP-70 were raised at both time points, but only in co-differentiation experiments. Neuropathy target esterase (NTE) activity was lower than controls following 4 or 8 h of exposure under co-differentiation conditions, but not under any post-differentiation conditions. The results suggest that the inhibition of axon production and maintenance by CPF in differentiating N2a cells may involve multiple targets, which are different under co- and post-differentiation conditions

    Gromov-Witten Gauge Theory I

We introduce a geometric completion of the stack of maps from stable marked curves to the quotient stack [point/GL(1)], and use it to construct some gauge-theoretic analogues of the Gromov-Witten invariants. We also indicate the generalization of these invariants to the quotient stacks [X/GL(1)], where X is a smooth proper complex algebraic variety.Comment: v3: Shorter, cleaner proof of main theorem.
