    APPLICATION OF GEOMORFOMETRIC TECHNIQUES FOR CLASSIFICATION OF LANDFORMS IN CAMPO LARGO, PARANÁ STATE - BRAZIL

    A geomorfometria serve como base a mapeamentos geomorfológicos através dos Modelos Digitais do Terreno (MDTs) e seus derivados, os atributos topográficos, que são atualmente as principais variáveis para a compartimentação de relevo e identificação de unidades morfológicas. Assim, este estudo busca identificar, distinguir e caracterizar tipos de formas de relevo adequado ao 4º nível taxonômico (ROSS, 1992), compreendendo a escala 1:100.000, através de atributos topográficos derivados do MDT. Foi selecionado como recorte geográfico a folha topográfica MI 2841-4, denominada Campo Largo, localizada na transição entre o Primeiro Planalto Paranaense e o Segundo Planalto Paranaense. O MDT gerado da área possui resolução espacial de 10 metros, e deste derivou-se os atributos topográficos declividade, amplitude altimétrica e relevo sombreado, utilizando o software de SIG ArcGis 10.1 (ESRI, 2012). Através de técnica de classificação do relevo, amparados pela análise de valores de classes obtidas com combinação por meio de álgebra de mapas e interpretação dos dados quantitativos condizentes com a realidade em campo, chegou-se a cinco unidades morfométricas distintas. Após análise e interpretação destas, foram encontrados seis tipos de formas de relevo ao todo: colinas, colinas onduladas, morrotes, morros, morros declivosos, cornija de cuesta e tálus cuestiforme. As formas de relevo predominante são os morrotes perfazendo 27,91% da área, seguido das colinas com 24,75% e as com menor ocorrência são cornija de cuesta e tálus cuestiforme, encontradas apenas no entorno da escarpa. O método utilizado demonstrou ser eficiente e aplicável, possibilitou discernir formas de relevo, bem como destacou o potencial para classificações geomorfométricas.Geomorphometry serve as a basis for geomorphological mapping through the Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) and their derivatives, the topographic attributes, which are currently the main variables for landforms compartmentation and identification of morphological units. Thereby, this study seeks to identify, distinguish and characterize types of relief forms up to the fourth taxonomic level (ROSS, 1992), appropriate to scale 1: 100,000, from topographic attributes derived from DTM. The topographic letter MI 2841-4, called Campo Largo, selected as the geographic cut, is located at the transition between the First Plateau Paranaense and the Second Plateau Paranaense. The generated DTM of the area has spatial resolution of 10 meters, from wich the topographical attributes derived: slope, altimetric amplitude and hillshade, using the ArcGis 10.1 SIG software (ESRI, 2012). Through technique of classification of the relief, supported by the analysis of class values obtained with combination by map algebra and interpretation of quantitative data consistent with the reality in the field, it was reached five different morphometric units. After analysis and interpretation of these, six types of landforms it were found: hills, rolling hills, morrotes, mounds, sloping mounds and hillsides of cuesta and talus questiforme. The predominant relief form is the morrotes making up 27.91% of the area, followed by the hills with 24.75% and the form with less occurrence is hillside of cuesta and talus questiforme, found only around the escarpment. The method used proved to be efficient and applicable, allowed to discern landforms, as well as highlighted the potential for geomorphometric classifications

    Multidisciplinary approach in breast cancer.

    Breast cancer is the most common neoplasm among women. Worldwide, there will be about 2.1 million newly diagnosed female breast cancer cases in 2018, accounting for almost 1 in 4 cancer cases among women. The disease is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in the vast majority of the countries. The purpose of this article is to report the positive experience of a multidisciplinary team in the care of women with breast cancer and their family members. Our approach that is part of the Cancer Patient Support Center (CPSC) at the public health (IPSEMG) in Brazil has been developed taking into account a broader concept of health care. We value not only individual dimensions in patient care, but also common ones, we recognize the importance of dealing with non-biological aspects of the disease, such as socioeconomic, political and cultural facets and our service is focused on health promotion rather than merely on curative treatment. Among the advantages of our approach, we highlight the facilitated accessibility to health services, the patient-centered communication and shared decision making, and the strong bonds between health professionals, patients, and family members. As part of CPSC`s activities, we emphasize the services provided by ?Aconchego? (?Warmth?), that is our breast cancer support group at public health in Brazil

    Mammals are threatened worldwide, with 26% of all species being includedin the IUCN threatened categories. This overall pattern is primarily associatedwith habitat loss or degradation, and human persecution for terrestrial mam-mals, and pollution, open net fishing, climate change, and prey depletion formarine mammals. Mammals play a key role in maintaining ecosystems func-tionality and resilience, and therefore information on their distribution is cru-cial to delineate and support conservation actions. MAMMALS INPORTUGAL is a publicly available data set compiling unpublishedgeoreferenced occurrence records of 92 terrestrial, volant, and marine mam-mals in mainland Portugal and archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira thatincludes 105,026 data entries between 1873 and 2021 (72% of the data occur-ring in 2000 and 2021). The methods used to collect the data were: live obser-vations/captures (43%), sign surveys (35%), camera trapping (16%),bioacoustics surveys (4%) and radiotracking, and inquiries that represent lessthan 1% of the records.     Impact of COVID-19 on the Environments of Professional Nursing Practice and Nurses’ Job Satisfaction

    (1) Background: The repercussions of work environments were widely studied before the pandemic. However, there are still many difficulties to be discovered considering the impact generated by it. Thus, this study aimed to analyse the impact of COVID-19 on nursing practice environments and nurses’ job satisfaction. (2) Methods: A correlational study was conducted in a hospital in northern Portugal, with the participation of 416 registered nurses. Data were collected in June 2021 through questionnaires. The study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee. (3) Results: COVID-19 had a favourable impact on the structure component of the practice environments; the process component decreased compared to the pre-pandemic period; the outcome component remained moderately favourable to the quality of care. Nurses were not very satisfied or not at all satisfied with their valuation and remuneration; moderately satisfied with the leadership and staffing; and satisfied with the organisation and resources, co-workers and valuation by patients and families. In more favourable environments, nurses’ job satisfactions were higher. (4) Conclusions: Identifying the dimensions with the best and worst scores allowed the institution’s managers to concentrate efforts on where improvements were needed, thus preparing professional contexts for the recovery of care activities

    From the first to the fourth critical period of COVID-19 ::what has changed in nursing practice environments in hospital settings?

    Background : The COVID-19 pandemic reinforced the need to invest in nursing practice environments and health institutions were led to implement several changes. In this sense, this study aimed to analyze the impact of the changes that occurred in nursing practice environments between the first and fourth critical periods of the pandemic. Methods : Quantitative, observational study, conducted in a University Hospital, with the participation of 713 registered nurses. Data were collected through a questionnaire with sociodemographic and professional characterization and the Scale for the Environments Evaluation of Professional Nursing Practice, applied at two different points in time: from 1 to 30 June 2020 and from 15 August to 15 September 2021. Data were processed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results : Overall, the pandemic had a positive impact on nursing practice environments. However, the Process component remained favourable to quality of care, while the Structure and Outcome components only moderately favourable. Nurses working in Medicine Department services showed lower scores in several dimensions of the Structure, Process and Outcome components. On the other hand, nurses working in areas caring for patients with COVID-19 showed higher scores in several dimensions of the Structure, Process and Outcome components. Conclusions : The pandemic had a positive impact on various dimensions of nursing practice environments, which denotes that regardless of the adversities and moments of crisis that may arise, investment in work environments will have positive repercussions. However, more investment is needed in Medicine Department services, which have historically been characterised by high workloads and structural conditions that make it difficult to promote positive and sustainable workplaces

    Cytogenetic characterization of the strongly electric Amazonian eel, Electrophorus electricus (Teleostei, Gymnotiformes), from the Brazilian rivers Amazon and Araguaia

    A karyotype analysis of the electric eel, Electrophorus electricus (Teleostei, Gymnotiformes), a strongly electric fish from northern South America, is presented. Two female specimens were analyzed, one from the Amazon River and one from the Araguaia River. The specimens had a chromosomal number of 2n = 52 (42M-SM + 10A). C-bands were present in a centromeric and pericentromeric position on part of the chromosomes; some interstitial C-bands were also present. Heteromorphic nucleolus organizer regions (NORs) were detected in two chromosome pairs of the specimen from the Amazon River. The chromosome number and karyotype characteristics are similar to those of other Gymnotidae species. The genera Electrophorus and Gymnotus are positioned as the basal lineages in the Gymnotiformes phylogeny
