Analysing teamwork in higher education: an empirical study on the antecedents and consequences of team cohesiveness
One of the most important components of effective teamwork is cohesiveness. However, few empirical studies on the antecedents and consequences of group cohesiveness exist. In response to this gap, the current study draws on the Input-Process-Output model of team effectiveness to investigate the impact of individual and task factors on team cohesiveness, as well as the influence of team cohesiveness on students’ perceived learning, satisfaction with teamwork, and expected quality in the outcome. Based on a survey of 160 undergraduate students who worked in groups, the findings show that cooperativeness and collaborative behaviour have a positive influence on team cohesiveness, while workload and task complexity have a negative influence on it. Additionally, team cohesiveness is positively related to perceived learning, satisfaction with teamwork, and expected quality. Finally, both perceived learning and expected quality predict satisfaction with teamwork
Comparison between "Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland", by Lewis Carroll, and the videogame "Alice: Madness Returns"
Traballo Fin de Grao en Lingua e Literatura Inglesas. Curso 2018-2019The main topic of my final grade project will be a comparison between tha classic "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" (1865) writting by the English writer Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better know as Lewis Carroll, and the videogame "Alice: Madness Returns" (2011)released by Electronic Arts (EA Games).
Although videogames are usually considered mere entertainment mediums, some of them, such "Alice: Madness Returns" could be considered as artistics masterpieces when analyzing them deeply. It is through this analysis of the narrative and aesthetic aspects, and the comparison of the same ones, that I would like to show how a videogame can transmit the same feelings and emotions as a good universal classic such as "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". However Carroll's book does not only transcend the literary dimension to the one of the videogames, but also to the television and cinematographic dimension with more than 30 adaptations such as, perhaps the most known ones, the animated version by Walt Disney "Alice in Wonderland" (1951) and Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" (2010) this last one also with its own videogame. Undoubtedly, there is an enourmous quantity of adpatations of Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" in all the different mediums we have at our disposal nowadays, from films to theatre or even music. However, although i am going to mention a few ones throughout this project, the main aim is profoundly analyzed the works first mentioned, since I find quite interesting the aesthetic power of both works.
In order to achieve this, the project will problaby follow the next structure:
First of all, I would like to briefly analyze both works, the book and the videogame, separately. In both analysis I will focus on their main features according to the narrative's and aesthetics' aspects using the respective methodology in consonance with literary and game studies. After a short analysis of these aspects of both works, my aim is to compare them from the perspective of intermediality, paying special attention, as mentioned before, to aesthetic
Fiscal Multipliers and Forecast Errors
Treball Final de Màster Universitari en Economia / Master in Economics. Codi: SRN015. Curs acadèmic 2017-2018The study of the fiscal multipliers is growing interest among economists and generating quite a debate on their determinants, size and forecast methodologies. During the financial crisis there has been some forecasting problems, because it was a unique scenario without any antecedent to support their estimations. In this thesis, we will focus on the Blanchard and Leigh’s research ‘Growth forecast errors and Fiscal multipliers’ published in 2013, in which they showed an underestimation of the fiscal multipliers in the 2010-2011 period. We are going to extend their baseline estimation from 2011-2012 until 2016-2017. The aim is to check if it was an isolate case and if the researchers have learnt to estimate accurately fiscal multipliers for the following periods, or if there is a deeper bias in the methodology of fiscal multipliers forecast which is to be found out. The result shows that fiscal multipliers have been accurately forecasted, that it just was an isolate ‘mistake’. Additionally, we will reinforce our research developing panel data analysis for both data selection, and will carry out a robustness check for the economy’s choice and possible influence for outliers for our case. The panel data analysis shows that the forecast has been more accurate after Blanchard and Leigh’s exposition of underestimation of fiscal multipliers. In the other part of this robustness check, we will make a difference among three groups of economies: European countries, advanced economies and emerging markets estates. Overall, the baseline estimations have been accurate and robust for the outliers’ influence. The results expose that the estimation of the fiscal multipliers is improving after the difficulties of forecasting accurately until 2017 for European countries. However, the fiscal multipliers framework is still being a black box for economic study
Magnetic composite biomaterials for tissue engineering
Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have been increasingly used in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. These particles have been mainly employed as elements directly incorporated into cells or interacting with cell membranes; however, MNPs are now being combined with biomaterials to create other functionalities of the structural framework used to support cells, namely for controlling cellular responses and for enhancing drug delivery and release. This mini-review summarizes and highlights the latest developments and applications of polymeric/ceramic biomimetic scaffolds and hydrogels that contain MNPs for such purposes, also addressing future perspectives for the use of these magnetic composite biomaterials in biomedicine

dificultades.National and international educational reports in recent years, have been warning a progressive
increase of women in college. Universities today are widely feminized in most degree programs,
except in technical specialties. A historical approach to women´s education tell us that this
situation is a significant achievement, especially because from their official access to education
women have had to overcome serious difficulties. These difficulties which come from both
institutional barriers and the limitations of gender roles and stereotypes, seem to have been
overcome by women not only in a quantitative way but also in a qualitative because they have a
higher academic performance than their male peers, those for which the education system was
created. These results could be interpreted in terms of resilience, a psychological construct that
describes those individuals or groups who successfully faced environmental adversity, leaving
them empowered and ready to face new challenges

C-Pen Exam Reader and Reading in Basic Education : Will it be a good partnership?
There is an increasing number of students in basic education schools with difficulties in reading, and consequently, in writing. Our exploratory study aims to understand if the C Pen Exam Reader (C-Pen) helps in the learning process of students with language and writing difficulties. The methodology chosen was interviews with elementary school teachers, no special education teachers, and a speech therapist, as well as the support of CRTICee of the Amato Lusitano School Grouping. Thus, it was possible to assess the added value for
students, not only in terms of their autonomy, since it is a reading pen, but also their self-esteem and inclusion in the school environment. It was also possible to clarify which points to improve in the use of this instrument to maximize its effectiveness and, thus, improve the quality of life of these students, such as prosody (accentuation, intonation, duration, rhythm of words and phrases).info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
