Geometric thermodynamics: black holes and the meaning of the scalar curvature

In this paper we show that the vanishing of the scalar curvature of Ruppeiner-like metrics does not characterize the ideal gas. Furthermore, we claim through an example that flatness is not a sufficient condition to establish the absence of interactions in the underlying microscopic model of a thermodynamic system, which poses a limitation on the usefulness of Ruppeiner's metric and conjecture. Finally, we address the problem of the choice of coordinates in black hole thermodynamics. We propose an alternative energy representation for Kerr-Newman black holes that mimics fully Weinhold's approach. The corresponding Ruppeiner's metrics become degenerate only at absolute zero and have non-vanishing scalar curvatures.Comment: LaTeX file, no figure

This dissertation examines the role of nomadism, poetics of desolation and intertextuality present in seven of Álvaro Mutis's novels included in the book Empresas y tribulaciones de Maqroll el Gaviero. In this process I clarify the different and most suggestive theories alluding to displacement, I emphasize the use of an allegory to ruins as a fundamental characteristic of desolation, and I clarify intertextuality cases present in each of the novels striving to resolve a disperse chronology.Chapter 1 analyzes Maqroll's wandering according to Joseph Campbell's proposal in order to establish a dialogue with The Odyssey in terms of the voyage and the characteristics of the art of drift (travesía hacia la deriva) based on Hédi Bouraoui's theory. Aditionally, it is confirmed how characteristics intrinsic to characters, objects and places are associated with the ruins and how these are fundamental to the poetics of desolation. Chapter 2 focuses on the myth of eternal return according to Mircea Eliade and makes a tribute to wandering as other forms of voyage transgression, proves how both acronía and delirio make reference to ruins and verifies how allusion is what defines the intertextuality component. Chapter 3 investigates the concept of the interrupted voyage in agreement with Michel Maffesoli's theory and the errant desire as its counterpart, based on Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guatarri's nomadology. This chapter also points out Maqroll's solitude reveals the poetics of desolation and studies the intertext and the interfigurality as an intertextual component present in each of the novels. Chapter 4 delves into the concept of the frontier as a limit of existential displacement from the central character, closing the dialogue with Homer's Odyssey as Maqroll's final voyage. The latter proves descending to an abysm as an idea tied to desolation and voyage, and emphasizes the use of allusions and intertexts between Alejandro Obregon's paintings and Mutis' texts.The conclusions prove how the different variations in the voyage proposed by Mutis infringe in a Latin American tradition not only for the meaning of the voyage itself, the presence of the same main character in his seven novels, and the ars poetica, but for the elements that are associated with the ruins and the intertextuality

Promoción de educación en seguridad vial en el área de desarrollo personal, ciudadanía y cívica en una institución educativa - Comas

El presente estudio de investigación tuvo como objetivo general, analizar la promoción de la educación en seguridad vial en las escuelas desde la perspectiva de los docentes del área de desarrollo personal ciudadanía y cívica del nivel secundario de la I.E 2085 San Agustín, del distrito de Comas - Lima durante el año 2022. Es un estudio que pertenece al enfoque cualitativo, investigación básica con un diseño fenomenológico utilizando la técnica de la entrevista semiestructurada, para la cual se elaboró como instrumento una guía de preguntas que tuvo como base la formación de categorías y subcategorías mediante la cual se pudo analizar y reflexionar la información brindada por los cinco docentes de la escuela mencionada. Como resultado se obtuvo que los docentes se esfuerzan por promocionar a su manera el único tema de la educación en seguridad vial que se encuentra en el currículo nacional por ello se pide que se debe incrementar la malla curricular, además que es indispensable una pronta capacitación por parte del ministerio de educación en los temas mencionados y evitar así de esa manera los siniestros de tránsito y puedan aplicar una cultura vial en sus vidas cotidianas

Analytical Modeling of Interference Aware Power Control for the Uplink of Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

Inter-cell interference is one of the main limiting factors in current Heterogeneous Cellular Networks (HCNs). Uplink Fractional Power Control (FPC) is a well known method that aims to cope with such limiting factor as well as to save battery live. In order to do that, the path losses associated with Mobile Terminal (MT) transmissions are partially compensated so that a lower interference is leaked towards neighboring cells. Classical FPC techniques only consider a set of parameters that depends on the own MT transmission, like desired received power at the Base Station (BS) or the path loss between the MT and its serving BS, among others. Contrary to classical FPC, in this paper we use stochastic geometry to analyze a power control mechanism that keeps the interference generated by each MT under a given threshold. We also consider a maximum transmitted power and a partial compensation of the path loss. Interestingly, our analysis reveals that such Interference Aware (IA) method can reduce the average power consumption and increase the average spectral efficiency. Additionally, the variance of the interference is reduced, thus improving the performance of Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) since the interference can be better estimated at the MT.Comment: 13 pages, 1 table and 7 figures.
