    Gestión de recursos humanos: Indicar los procedimientos de reclutamiento y selección de personal de la alcaldía municipal de Managua

    La administración como ciencia en los últimos años se ha visto envuelta en un constante proceso de transformación y cambio. La mayoría de las organizaciones que se mueven en atención a un proceso administrativo han tenido que actualizarse en cuanto a los nuevos enfoques que plantean las nuevas tendencias y paradigmas de la Gestión Administrativa. Todos los elementos que interactúan en el proceso de administración de las empresas han tenido que ajustarse a las nuevas exigencias y requerimientos. En el ámbito del reclutamiento y la Selección de Personal también se han encontrado nuevos esquemas y criterios para seleccionar el personal que requiere una empresa o institución. Para el desarrollo de esta investigación se plantea bajo la perspectiva metodológica del modelo descriptivo y presenta la siguiente estructura: Capítulo I:denominado Reclutamiento de Personal describe la teoría relacionada con el proceso de reclutamiento de personal donde se señala la evolución Histórica del proceso de Reclutamiento y Selección de Personal, el proceso de reclutamiento interno, sus ventajas y desventajas, el reclutamiento externos, con las técnicas utilizadas para ello, sus ventajas y desventajas, así como el reclutamiento mixto, su proceso y medios de reclutamiento. Capítulo II: denominado Selección de Personal identifica la teoría relacionada a la Selección de Personal, como proceso de comparación, como proceso de decisión, las bases para la selección de personas, recolección de información acerca del cargo, elección de las técnicas de selección, etapas de la entrevista de selección, análisis y diseño de puestos. Capítulo III: denominado Presentación de Resultados Obtenidos en la Investigación y Propuesta de Mejoras, el cual está conformado por las Generalidades de la Alcaldía de Managua, el Marco Metodológico utilizado, el procedimiento de reclutamiento y selección de personal utilizado en la actualidad por la Institución y una Propuesta de Mejoras a este procedimiento. Dentro de la conclusión fundamental que hemos de mencionar, podemos decir que hemos alcanzado obtener amplios conocimientos sobre toda la teoría existente en materia de Reclutamiento y Selección de Personal, así mismo también identificamos la forma como se lleva a cabo ese proceso en la Alcaldía de Managua e intentamos proponer unas mejoras a dicho procedimiento, apegándonos al contenido de la Ley 502, Ley de Carrera Administrativa Municipal, con el humilde deseo de aportar nuestro granito de arena a la consecución de los procesos de modernización que desde hace un tiempo viene implementando la Alcaldía de Managua

    The interactive effects of temperature and osmotic potential on the growth of marines isolates of Fusarium solani

    The mycelial growth of 18 Fusarium solani strains isolated from sea beds of the south-eastern coast of Spain was tested on potato-dextrose agar adjusted to different osmotic potentials with either KCl or NACl (-1.50 to -144.54 bars) in 10ºC intervals ranging from 15 to 35ºC. Fungal growth was determined by measuring colony diameter after 4 days incubation. Mycelial growth was maximal at 25ºC. The quantity and frequency pattern of mycelial growth of F. solani differ significantly at 15 and 25ºC, with maximal occurring at the highest water potential tested (-1.50 bars); and at 35ºC, with a maximal mycelial growth at -13.79 bars. The effect of water potential was independent of salt composition. The general growth pattern of F. solani showed declining growth at potentials below -41.79 bars. Fungal growth at 35ºC was always higher than that growth at 15ºC, of all the water potentials tested. Significant differences observed in the response of mycelia to water potential and temperature as main and interactive effects. The viability of cultures was increasingly inhibited as the water potential dropped, but some growth was still observed at -99.56 bars. These findings could indicate that marine strains of F. solani have a physiological mechanism that permits survival in environments with low water potential. The observed differences in viability and the magnitude growth could indicate that the biological factors governing potential and actual growth are affected by osmotic potential in different ways

    Crustal and Mantle Structure Beneath the Southern Payenia Volcanic Province Using Gravity and Magnetic Data

    The Auca Mahuida volcanic field lies on the southernmost Payenia Volcanic Province, one of the broadest retroarc volcanic plateaux in the southern Central Andes (~38°S). This voluminous basaltic flooding of Quaternary age was originated from a deep asthenospheric source, interpreted as a mantle plume product of changing slab dynamics. The geometry of this source is deduced from magnetotelluric data, but the limited spatial coverage of this array does not allow a detailed resolution of this anomaly. In order to present a detailed geometry of the conductive anomaly and related crustal magmatic bodies, we used multiple data sources. We combined Magnetic and Bouguer anomalies, Curie isotherm depth (T c ), Elastic Thickness (T e ) and Moho depth derived from the Global Earth Magnetic Anomaly Grid (EMAG2) and terrestrial gravity measurements, all together in a holistic geophysical analysis. The magnetic data depict a nearly 200-km-in-diameter circular anomaly that would correspond to a dense body according to the Bouguer anomaly. Geoid data from the Gravity Field Model (EIGEN-6c4) have been filtered in order to isolate deeper mass influences and visualize the asthenospheric upwelling previously described from magnetotelluric data. Moho inversion yields a crustal attenuation at 36- to 32-km depth coinciding with T e below 20-km depth and a shallow T c (≤15-km depth) at the site where Geoid positive undulation was calculated. Finally, surface analysis allowed defining a topographic swell, compatible with the dimensions of the identified magnetic anomaly, where the main rivers deviated, potentially due to a recent base level change.Fil: Astort, Ana.     Integration of artificial intelligence and precision oncology in Latin America

    Next-generation medicine encompasses different concepts related to healthcare models and technological developments. In Latin America and the Caribbean, healthcare systems are quite different between countries, and cancer control is known to be insufficient and inefficient considering socioeconomically discrepancies. Despite advancements in knowledge about the biology of different oncological diseases, the disease remains a challenge in terms of diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis for clinicians and researchers. With the development of molecular biology, better diagnosis methods, and therapeutic tools in the last years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become important, because it could improve different clinical scenarios: predicting clinically relevant parameters, cancer diagnosis, cancer research, and accelerating the growth of personalized medicine. The incorporation of AI represents an important challenge in terms of diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis for clinicians and researchers in cancer care. Therefore, some studies about AI in Latin America and the Caribbean are being conducted with the aim to improve the performance of AI in those countries. This review introduces AI in cancer care in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the advantages and promising results that it has shown in this socio-demographic context

    Ideal cardiovascular health, handgrip strength, and muscle mass among college students: The fuprecol adults study

    The American Heart Association established the 2020 Strategic Impact Goals to define the concept of ideal cardiovascular health (CVH) and the metrics needed to monitor it across populations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between handgrip strength, muscle mass, and ideal CVH among Colombian college students. Data from 1,835 college students were analyzed (1,128 female). Muscular strength was estimated using a hand-held dynamometer and normalized to body mass (normalized grip strength [NGS]). The percentage of body fat was determined for bioelectrical impedance analysis using tetrapolar whole-body impedance. Ideal CVH was defined as meeting the ideal levels of 4 behaviors (smoking, body mass index, physical activity, and diet adherence) and 3 factors (total cholesterol, fasting glucose, and blood pressure). Higher levels of NGS and muscle mass (relative to body mass) were associated with a higher number of ideal CVH metrics in both sexes (p for trend less than 0.001). For the total ideal CVH metrics scored on a continuous scale from 0 (all 7 poor) to 7 (all 7 ideal), a 1-metric increase was associated with reduced odds of weak NGS (33 and 36%) and low-medium muscle mass (28 and 34%) mass in men and women, respectively (all p less than 0.001). This study indicates that in Colombian college students, both handgrip strength and muscle mass are positively associated with the ideal CVH metrics. To reduce the possible future public health burden of muscular weakness, health professionals need to encourage the public to optimize lifestyle-related risk factors during the young adult stage. © 2019 National Strength and Conditioning Association

    Higher cardiorespiratory fitness levels may attenuate the detrimental association between weight status, metabolic phenotype and C-reactive protein in adolescents - a multi-Cohort study

    Results from several studies show that only obese, unfit subjects, but not obese, fit subjects, are at higher mortality risk than are normal-weight fit subjects. The aim of the study was two-fold: (1) to examine the differences in C-reactive protein levels across different metabolic phenotypes (healthy and unhealthy) of weight status and (2) ascertain whether high levels of cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) attenuate the association of C-reactive protein and metabolic phenotypes of weight status. This was a pooled study, which included data from three cross-sectional projects (1706 youth (921 girls) aged 12–18 years). We used a Shuttle run test to assess CRF. Adolescents were classified into six metabolic phenotypes (healthy and unhealthy) of weight status (non-overweight, overweight and obese), based on age- and sex-specific cutoff points for triglycerides, systolic blood pressure, HDL-cholesterol, glucose and body mass index. High-sensitivity assays were used to obtain the C-reactive protein as inflammatory biomarker. After adjustment for potential confounders (age, sex, pubertal stage and country), the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) shows that C-reactive protein is directly associated with metabolic phenotypes of weight status. Subjects with obesity, regardless of their metabolic profile, had higher levels of C-reactive protein Z-score. In addition, (after adjustments for potential confounders) a two-way ANCOVA showed that high levels of CRF attenuated the associations of C-reactive protein levels in metabolic healthy non-overweight and in adolescents with obesity. In conclusion, higher CRF levels may attenuate the detrimental association between obesity and C-reactive protein independently of metabolic phenotype.     Short-term exposure to carbamazepine causes oxidative stress on common carp (Cyprinus carpio)

    Artículo científico en revista indizadaThe aim of this research was to determine the bioconcentration factor and if subacute exposure to carbama- zepine (2 mg L−1) modifies the oxidative state of liver, gills and brain of Cyprinus carpio. This was measured through the following biomarkers: hydroperoxide and protein carbonyl content, lipid peroxidation degree, as well as superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase activity. Carbamazepine concentration in carp’s tissue was also determined by liquid chromatography with a diode arrangement detector. An increase in lipid peroxidation degree, hydroperoxide and protein carbonyl content, and a decrease in the activity of the antioxidant enzymes (P < 0.05) with respect to control was observed. Also, there is an increase in the con- centration of carbamazepina present in the organs with respect to the water in the system, which denotes bioconcentration of the drug.     Insights into the origin of the invasive populations of Trioza erytreae in Europe using microsatellite markers and mtDNA barcoding approaches

    The African citrus psyllid Trioza erytreae is one of the major threats to citrus industry as the vector of the incurable disease known as huanglongbing (HLB) or citrus greening. The psyllid invaded the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula 6 years ago. The invasion alarmed citrus growers in the Mediterranean basin, the largest citrus producing area in Europe, which is still free of HLB. Before our study, no research had been carried out on the genetic diversity of T. erytreae populations that have invaded the Iberian Peninsula and the archipelagos of the Macaronesia (Madeira and the Canary Islands). In this study, combining microsatellites markers and mtDNA barcoding analysis, we characterize the genetic diversity, structure and maternal relationship of these new invasive populations of T. erytreae and those from Africa. Our results suggest that the outbreaks of T. erytreae in the Iberian Peninsula may have derived from the Canary Islands. The populations of T. erytreae that invaded Macaronesia and the Iberian Peninsula are likely to have originated from southern Africa.     Role of theobromine in cocoa's metabolic properties in healthy rats.

    Cocoa is rich in polyphenols and methylxanthines and it has been reported that its consumption, among other properties, has beneficial effects on metabolism. This study aimed to investigate the role of theobromine in cocoa's metabolic properties in healthy rats. In addition to morphometric measurements, biochemical markers of lipids and glucose metabolism and gene expression of molecules related to immune cells in adipose and hepatic tissues were assessed after 7 or 18 days of diet. Additionally, a metabolomic analysis was carried out at day 7. This study revealed the presence of six discriminant metabolites in plasma due to the diets. Moreover, the results showed that theobromine is the main responsible factor for cocoa's effects on body weight gain as well as on lipid and glucose metabolism. The effects on body weight and lipids appeared as early as after 7 days of diet, whereas those affecting glucose metabolism required a longer intervention

    La importancia de los estudios sobre ciudadanía se vincula con la imperiosa necesidad de fortalecer la democracia en todos aquellos espacios donde se manifiesta, principalmente en países como México, donde la falta de credibilidad en las instituciones democráticas ha permeado a la sociedad.Los desafíos contemporáneos requieren nuevos ajustes en diversos sentidos; al interior de las organizaciones es necesario adecuar los mecanismos con que interactúan frente a la sociedad en la que se desarrollan. Es requisito indispensable que el grueso de las organizaciones sociales se vinculen de manera directa con los problemas globales y nacionales: cambio climático, guerras, exigencias democráticas, movimientos sociales, pobreza, desempleo, inestabilidades políticas etc., ello les exige que se asuman como parte del complejo social, donde sus acciones repercuten de forma directa o indirecta
