    Get PDF
Social Media use has become pervasive and firms are increasingly relying on it, not only to relate to customers, but also to leverage internal processes like innovation. The strategic use of these tools can facilitate also the entrepreneurial orientation of the firm, as it provides useful knowledge which can make the firm more entrepreneurial, stimulating it to find new opportunities or innovative ideas where other companies do not recognize them. However, despite the relevance of the phenomenon in current hyper-competitive environments, empirical research on the topic remains scarce. To shed some light on the issue, the main purpose of the paper is to examine how Social Media use impacts the different dimensions of corporate entrepreneurship (new business venturing, innovativeness, proactiveness and self-renewal), enhancing also organizational performance. The study is intended to extend knowledge on this topic, by providing understanding of the path firms should take to benefit from Social Media use to become more entrepreneurial and achieve higher organizational performance, developing and nurturing competitive advantages. The paper analyses data obtained from a sample of 201 technological firms located in Spain. The methodology used is Structural equation modelling with LISREL analysis. Findings confirms how the use of Social Media tools positively impacted all the different dimensions of corporate entrepreneurship, translating also in enhanced performance. This paper contributes to the literature by empirically confirming in a structural model how Social Media use helps to create business value, by enhancing proactive behaviours, promoting strategic renewal inside the firm and increasing innovativeness and new business venturing and displaying the internal and sequential relationships among these dimensions. In the classroom there are students of engineering and economics who do not recognize the importance of mathematics, in addition to technological innovations instead of mediating the teaching-learning process pose an obstacle in their use, on the other hand studying mathematics outside of their Application context poses a major obstacle, many times the teacher seems to be further away from his work and becomes a limiting factor in the learning process. Therefore, in this paper we present models in the implementation stage that focus the process on mathematical modeling and can be conceived as a didactic tool for teaching in the training of engineers and economists, it is sought that the results obtained provide a theoretical basis that allows to re-evaluate the curriculum of these courses and to approach the students to the knowledge of their discipline.Contexto institucional La modelación matemática concebida como una herramienta didáctica Surgimiento de la propuesta Propuesta metodológica de enseñanza-aprendizaje basada en modelación matemática Consideraciones finales Referencia

Analyzing the drivers of knowledge management processes in spanish hotels

Indexación: Web of Science; ScieloThe photochemical behavior of nimodipine (NIMO) and felodipine (FELO), photolabile drugs widely used as antihypertensive calcium channel blockers, is studied in constrained media. Specifically, we are interested in the kinetic analysis of 4-aryl-1,4-dihydropyridine photodegradation processes when they are incorporated in biological-mimicking systems like micelles or liposomes. In order to establish if the nature of the head of surfactant (ionic or nonionic) could be important modulating the photo-reactivity of these drugs, we studied the photodegradation of NIMO and FELO incorporated in micelles formed with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS, anionic), dodecyl-pyridinium chloride (DPC, cationic) and mono lauryl sucrose ester (MLS, nonionic) as surfactants. Additionally, the results of the photodegradation of these compounds in liposomes were also included. The results clearly indicate that both dihydropyridines studied, NIMO and FELO, are located near to the interface, but the surface charge of micelles does not affect neither, the photodegradation rate constant nor the photodegradation products profile. The absence of singlet oxygen generation in micellar media is consistent with the proposition of these 4-aryl-1,4-dihidropyridines located near to the interface of the micelle, where a polar environment is sensed. In addition, the ethanol preferential location on membranes and dihydropyridine enhanced photodegradation by alcohol presence are interesting results to consider in future research.http://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0717-97072012000300025&nrm=is

The influence of the perceived requirements of the next match and motivation on the mental fatigue of soccer players

The high cognitive and/or emotional demands of competition can lead to a state of mental fatigue which has shown to be detrimental to soccer performance. However, there is a need to further understand the true mental demands of soccer players. The aim of the present study was to analyze the influence of motivation and the perceived requirements of the next match on mental fatigue perceived by soccer players over the passing of a season. The combined effect of both variables on the perception of mental fatigue, as well as the influence of the time of the season on perceived mental fatigue, were also analyzed. Twenty-six semi-professional Spanish male players (M = 26.31 ± 5.18 years) participated in the present study, conducted during the 2020-2021 season. Perceived mental fatigue and motivation were measured at each training session. The perceived requirements of the next match were also measured in each of the competitive weeks. Linear mixed models were run with R Studio to examine the influence of motivation and the perceived difficulty of the next match on perceived mental fatigue, the combined effect of both variables on perceived mental fatigue, and the influence of the passing of the season on perceived mental fatigue. The results showed a negative and significant influence of motivation on perceived mental fatigue (p < 0.001) and a positive and significant influence of the perceived requirements of the next match on perceived mental fatigue (p < 0.001). Regarding the combined effect, there was a positive and significant effect (p < 0.01) of the perceived difficulty of the next match on the relation between motivation and perceived mental fatigue. A negative influence of season passage on perceived mental fatigue levels was found (p < 0.001). We recommended coaches to consider using the most motivating training tasks when higher next-match requirements are perceived and to be careful with avoidance strategies for mental fatigue, especially at the beginning of the season

A large time step 1D upwind explicit scheme (CFL > 1): Application to shallow water equations

It is possible to relax the Courant–Friedrichs–Lewy condition over the time step when using explicit schemes. This method, proposed by Leveque, provides accurate and correct solutions of non-sonic shocks. Rarefactions need some adjustments which are explored in the present work with scalar equation and systems of equations. The non-conservative terms that appear in systems of conservation laws introduce an extra difficulty in practical application. The way to deal with source terms is incorporated into the proposed procedure. The boundary treatment is analysed and a reflection wave technique is considered. In presence of strong discontinuities or important source terms, a strategy is proposed to control the stability of the method allowing the largest time step possible. The performance of the above scheme is evaluated to solve the homogeneous shallow water equations and the shallow water equations with sourc
