Estudios e informes nacionales e internacionales indican que en aquellos centros con un número elevado de alumnado inmigrante sufren un mayor fracaso escolar y en muchos casos se detectan problemas de convivencia respecto otros centros educativos sin alumnado inmigrante. Por ejemplo, en los últimos datos de los diferentes informes PISA muestran el hecho que el alumnado inmigrante (nacido fuera del país de origen y de padres inmigrantes) tiene un mayor índice de fracaso escolar que el alumnado autóctono

La formación de las familias para el aprendizaje de la comunidad

Los centros de éxito estudiados en el proyecto INCLUD-ED tienen una característica común: todos ellos desarrollan actividades de formación para las familias. La oferta responde a las demandas de éstas e incluye cursos de alfabetización e idiomas y formación en TIC, entre otras propuestas. Padres y madres se ven así más capaces de ayudar a sus hijos e hijas con los deberes y les transmiten un punto de vista muy positivo sobre el aprendizaje

Empowerment and social inclusion of migrant women through dialogic literary gatherings

La superación de las desigualdades de género es uno de los principales retos de organismos internacionales como la Comisión Europea. En el marco de los objetivos globales de las Naciones Unidas para superar la pobreza y conseguir la prosperidad para todos los colectivos se plantean una serie de directrices dirigidas a avanzar en la mejora de la situación de la mujer. Si bien dichas estrategias visibilizan la preocupación de los principales organismos internacionales y gobiernos alrededor de las injusticias de género, persisten aún problemáticas sobre las que profundizar. El presente artículo analiza cómo las tertulias literarias dialógicas están permitiendo empoderar a las mujeres inmigrantes y disminuir su situación de vulnerabilidad. Se ha desarrollado a partir de un estudio cualitativo con orientación comunicativa, en concreto se han realizado ocho entrevistas semiestructuradas, un grupo de discusión y observaciones comunicativas articuladas en sesiones semanales durante dos cursos escolares (2014-2015 y 2015-2016). Los resultados muestran que esta actuación educativa de éxito está contribuyendo a mejorar el aprendizaje del idioma, dotando de seguridad a las mujeres, fortaleciendo su auto-estima y reforzando sus relaciones familiares y de amistadOvercoming gender inequalities is one of the main challenges of international organizations such as the European Commission. Within the framework of the United Nations' overall objectives for overcoming poverty and achieving prosperity for all groups, a series of guidelines are proposed to advance the improvement of the situation of women. Although these strategies raise the concern of the main international organizations and governments around gender injustices, there are still problems to be studied. This article analyzes how literary dialogues are enabling immigrant women to be empowered and to reduce their vulnerability. It has been developed from a qualitative study with a communicative orientation, in particular eight semi-structured interviews, a discussion group and communicative observations articulated in weekly sessions during two school years (2014- 2015 and 2015-2016). The results show that this successful educational action is contributing to improve language learning, providing women of self-confidence, strengthening their self-esteem and their family and friendship relationship

La anulación de fronteras físicas y temporales en las posibilidades de comunicación han supuesto un gran avance. Así mismo, los y las menores son uno de los colectivos que está aumentando en su uso de Internet. Esto ha supuesto que la prevención de los abusos a menores haya tomado otra dimensión mucho mayor que requiere de una gran coordinación internacional si se quiere resolver mientras, paralelamente, también se trabaja para su prevención. El presente artículo, expone algunos de los datos que muestran la visibilización de este problema, y algunas de las propuestas de actuación que se están llevando a cabo para su detección y prevención, con las que todos y todas las profesionales de la educación debemos familiarizarnos para contribuir a erradicar dicho problema.Internet has become one of the greatest revolutions in our current society. The suppression of physical and temporal borders in the possibilities of communications has become an immense advancement. In addition, the minors are one of the collectives that are increasing their use of Internet. This has supposed for the abuse prevention of minors to take a major new dimension that requires a vast international coordination if the aim is to solve it while in parallel there is also a work of prevention. This article, show some of the data that illustrates the visibility of the problem and some proposals for action that are taking place for its detection and prevention in which all the professionals of education should be familiarized to contribute to the eradication of this problem

Comunidades de Aprendizaje

La transformación de las escuelas en comunidades de aprendizaje es uno de los puntos de partida más sólidos para lograr la participación de la ciudadanía en la mejora de sus barrios y pueblos que evita, por ejemplo, la segregación del uso del espacio público de personas de diferentes culturas. La apertura de la escuela, incluso de las aulas, a la participación de familiares, voluntariado y personas de la comunidad para conseguir el éxito escolar de todo el alumnado logra la confianza de las personas en un proyecto colectivo que crea sentido diariamente. Cualquier iniciativa de participación o transformación de una zona rural o urbana tiene en la transformación de la escuela en comunidad de aprendizaje uno de los elementos de éxito más seguro, sin necesidad de recursos públicos o privados adicionales. Así mismo, este proyecto sirve de base para otras transformaciones orientadas a la mejora de la calidad de vida de la ciudadanía

Innovative methodological approach to analyse innovation and social impact

The scientific literature has presented evidence of the links between innovation and change and has published excellent methodologies to analyse them. Nowadays, international scientific programs like Horizon Europe prioritise social impact and co-creation; researchers need to develop methodologies to analyse the link of innovation with change and new knowledge and specially with social impact. This paper presents an innovative methodological approach to this endeavour using Social Media Analytics to investigate citizens' participation in paying attention to and differentiating between innovations with social impact and innovations without social impact. The method used to address this aim is Social Media Analytics, specifically through a Twitter sample on innovation and social impact composed of 16,794 tweets obtained during January-June 2021. The result obtained indicates that the definition of methodologies to capture citizens' participation in paying attention to and differentiating between innovation and social impact is crucial for advancing this innovative methodological approach to analyse innovation with social impact

'We are achieving this...Eliminating the violence and making us all Friends'. The power of friendships to generate peaceful coexistence in Sant Roc (Badalona)

This article analyses the contribution of friendship between members of different cultures to improving peaceful coexistence in a vulnerable neighbourhood. Specifically, it analyses the personal friendship between Said, a member of the Pakistani community, andTio Antonio, amember of the Roma community, as a turning point in improvingthe coexistence in a neighbourhood which had been experiencing conflictive situations and clashes between the residents for years, especially between the Roma and the Pakistani communities. This friendship has played a mediating role and served as an example for other friendships between members of the two communities, leading to the creation of a joined organization. This analysis contributes to the existing literature, where the role of personal friendship in the transformation of conflictive intercultural relations into peaceful, constructive ones has barely been explored
