    Proceso de inducción a personal en una empresa de alimentos.

    El objetivo de la investigación fue, identificar la importancia del proceso de inducción de personal en la empresa Alimesa, S.A. Así mismo, detectar los problemas que genera la ausencia del proceso de inducción. El estudio se llevó a cabo en el mes de julio del año 2015, con 10 colaboradores, comprendidos entre los 20 a 40 años de edad, 2 hombres y 8 mujeres, que tenían más de 1 año de antigüedad en la empresa de alimentos ubicada en la 28 calle 11-04 colonia Granai & Towson II, zona 11, Guatemala. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron: un cuestionario abierto y una encuesta. Producto del proceso de evaluación se estructuró y se entregó una guía de inducción con los contenidos y las actualizaciones pertinentes, de acuerdo a las necesidades de la organización. Concluyó que, los problemas causados por la ausencia de una inducción en la empresa de alimentos son: desconocimiento organizacional, ausencia e incumplimiento de objetivos organizacionales y falta de sentido de pertenencia

    Selective rearrangement of Nd3+ centers in LiNbO3 under ferroelectric domain inversion by electron beam writing

    The following article appeared in Physical Review B - Condensed Matter and Materials Physics 78.1 (2008): 014114 and may be found at https://journals.aps.org/prb/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevB.78.014114Different values of the electronic charge provided by a direct electron beam writing system have been used to produce polarization inverted domain regions in the micrometer range on Nd3+ optically activated LiNbO3. The effect of the electronic charge on the Nd3+ center structure has been studied by means of low-temperature luminescence from Nd3+ ions. The axial crystal field acting on the Nd3+ centers has been analyzed through the F4 3/2 energy-level splitting of the Nd3+ ions. From there we have determined the position of Nd3+ ions into the Li+ octahedra for the different unequivalent centers in domains reversed with different electronic doses. The results show that the axial crystal field acting on the unequivalent Nd3+ centers can be selectively modified by means of the different doses applied to produce the inversion of the polarization. Moreover, a control of the discrete shifts suffered by the Nd3+ ions into the Li+ octahedra after the inversion process can be carried out in the range 0-0.02Å by selecting the type of Nd center to be shifted by means of the different electronic charge. The behavior of each Nd3+ center after the polarization inversion under different doses can be discriminated and the different nature, as well as the polar character of the Nd3+ centers, is clearly manifeste

    El debate social sobre juegos de azar online y menores en España

    El debate sobre los riesgos asociados a los juegos de azar online y la protección a los usuarios más vulnerables ha traspasado el ámbito académico hasta llegar a otros ámbitos sociales y políticos. En este artículo estudiamos la percepción que los agentes sociales más relevantes tienen sobre la evolución probable y el impacto previsible, en el futuro próximo, de los juegos de azar online en los menores de edad. Para ello conducimos un estudio con base en entrevistas cualitativas a miembros de los principales agentes sociales conectados con los juegos de azar online: familias afectadas por el juego problemático, asociaciones de apoyo a jugadores problemáticos, profesionales de la salud, reguladores, partidos políticos, empresas operadoras y profesionales de la publicidad. Los resultados obtenidos permiten identificar las posiciones y discursos de los diversos actores sobre sus preocupaciones principales, los problemas que se avecinan, qué aspectos van a mejorar y que cambios resultan necesarios. La comparación entre discursos permite establecer como conclusión cuáles son los principales consensos y disensos entre agentes, así como las principales contradicciones internas y los dilemas a que se enfrentan en el contexto del actual debate social

Improvement of trapping capabilities for such tiny objects requires a deep understanding of the mechanisms beneath them. Traditionally, the optical forces acting on dielectric nanoparticles have been only correlated with their volume, and the size has been traditionally identified as a key parameter. However, the most recently published research results have shown that the electrostatic characteristics of a sub-100 nm dielectric particle could also play a significant role. Indeed, at present it is not clear what optical forces depend. In this work, we designed a set of experiments in order to elucidate the different mechanism and properties (i.e., size and/or electrostatic properties) that governs the magnitude of optical forces. The comparison between experimental data and numerical simulations have shown that the double layer induced at nanoparticle’s surface, not considered in the classical description of nanoparticle’s polarizability, plays a relevant role determining the magnitude of the optical forces.     Polyamide fabric coated with a DHA-loaded chitosan hydrogel for a cosmeto-textile application

    Cosmeto-textiles, which allow the administration of molecules when in contact with the skin, are increasingly being developed by cosmetic industries. We have designed an innovative approach for cosmeto-textile products, based on the impregnation of textile fibers with chitosan hydrogels, which have been cross-linked with genipin and loaded with dihydroxyacetone, which is an active component that induces sunless tanning. Dihydroxyacetone-loaded chitosan hydrogels have been prepared and characterized by means of cryogenic scanning electron microscopy (cryo-SEM). The images showed that genipin cross-linking decreases the mesh distance of hydrogels. The release of dihydroxyacetone from these cross-linked genipin chitosan hydrogels has been studied by a dialysis membrane method. These dihydroxyacetone-loaded chitosan hydrogels have been incorporated to polyamide textiles by a simple padding technique. The presence of dihydroxyacetone on these textiles has been detected by hyperspectral imaging on a dark field high resolution optical microscope. Finally, the performance of fabrics as cosmeto-textiles, with a tanning effect, has been evaluated by skin-colorimetry measured with an evaluation panel of 10 people. The results have demonstrated that dihydroxyacetone-loaded textiles produce a tanning effect on skin, and incorporation of dihydroxyacetone-loaded chitosan hydrogels into polyamide fabrics represents a friendly and appropriate strategy to obtain a cosmeto-textile with tanning effect

    Consumos de riesgo: menores y juegos de azar online. El problema del juego responsable.

    Los juegos de azar online son una actividad muy popular entre los adolescentes. Sin embargo, desde hace un tiempo se ha observado un incremento notable del número de jóvenes que sufren o están al borde de la ludopatía. En este artículo revisamos el impacto de estas prácticas sobre los jóvenes y discutimos la conveniencia de promover un concepto de “juego responsable” que permita alertar de sus riesgos e impida eficazmente el acceso a los menores de edad. Los principales factores asociados al juego problemático son la edad de inicio, el entorno familiar, la influencia de la publicidad, el consumo de sustancias estimulantes y las actitudes del grupo de iguales. Los poderes públicos y la misma industria del juego deben considerar estos factores y concretar el desarrollo de planes que promuevan un modelo de juego seguro y controlado. La publicidad debe tener en cuenta criterios de protección de los consumidores sabiendo que, aun cuando les está prohibido, los menores acceden con facilidad al juego de azar online. Las Administraciones Públicas deben establecer políticas y sensibilizar a la sociedad. Los agentes sociales implicados deben aportar mecanismos de prevención y sensibilización hacia un problema del que existe aún poca conciencia social y una excesiva despreocupación

    Sir: Acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis or Sweet's syndrome' is an uncommon condition characterised by fever, polymorphonuclear leucocytosis, painful erythematous cutaneous plaques, and a dense dermal infiltrate of neutrophils without vasculitis at the site of the skin lesions. Although many investigators suggest that acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis is a hypersensitivity reaction,2 no defmitive cause is known. The role of the neutrophil as a cause or effect in this syndrome has not been clarified. Acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis is histologically and clinically mimicked by several disorders, and the differential diagnosis with pyoderma gangrenosum3 and with some reactive erythemas such as erythema multiforme2 is usually difficult

    The effects of auditory startle and nonstartle stimuli on step initiation in Parkinson's disease

    [Abstract] Background. Auditory external cues enhance step initiation in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. We wanted to explore whether a startle reaction has a comparable effect on step initiation in PD. Methods. Thirteen PD patients and 13 aged-matched controls participated in this study. Electromyography pattern and onset toe-off time during a step initiation task were recorded in response to three different stimuli: a visual imperative stimulus; visual stimulus simultaneous with a nonstartle auditory stimulus and with a startle auditory stimulus. Results. In all subjects, onset of tibialis anterior was faster in the startle auditory condition, compared with the nonstartle auditory condition. However, in the patient group, there was no difference in onset of soleus and toe-off between the startle and nonstartle conditions. Conclusions. Startle reaction in PD patients demonstrates a disordered coupling between the anticipatory postural adjustments that initiate the weight shift and the movement to initiate toe-off during step initiation.Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación; PSI2008-0317

    Indocyanine green angiography-guided thyroidectomy versus conventional thyroidectomy for preserving parathyroid function: study protocol for a randomized single-blind controlled trial

    Introduction: Angiography with indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence performed before thyroidectomy would allow identification of the vascularization of parathyroid glands, maximizing efforts for preserving functioning glands intraoperatively. The rationale of the study was based on the hypothesis that showing the vascular pattern of the parathyroid glands by means of ICG angiography before performing the thyroidectomy could prevent permanent hypoparathyroidism. Methods and analysis: We propose a randomized single-blind controlled and multicenter clinical trial to assess the efficacy and safety of ICG angiography-guided thyroidectomy to identify the vascular pattern of the parathyroid glands versus conventional thyroidectomy in patients scheduled for elective total thyroidectomy. Patients will be randomized 1:1 to ICG angiography-guided thyroidectomy (experimental group) or conventional thyroidectomy (control group). Patients in the experimental group will undergo ICG angiography before thyroidectomy to identify the feeding vessels of the parathyroid glands and then, post-thyroidectomy ICG angiography to predict immediate parathyroid gland function by scoring the degree of fluorescence of the glands. Patients in the control group will undergo post-thyroidectomy ICG angiography only. The primary outcome measure will be the rate of patients with permanent hypoparathyroidism. Secondary outcome measures will be rate of postoperative hypoparathyroidism, the percentage of well vascularized parathyroid glands remaining in situ, the levels of iPTH and serum calcium after surgery and the influence of the type of vascular pattern of the parathyroid glands over these outcomes, as well as the safety profile of ICG angiography. Discussion: The results will contribute to adopt a new surgical strategy based on intraoperative ICG angiography before performing total thyroidectomy, according to which the rate of permanent hypoparathyroidism could be substantially reduced
