“Yo es otro”: el mito, el poeta y el fotógrafo

Be part of the so-called Letters of the Seer, written by Arthur Rimbaud in May of 1871, and addressed to Georges Izambard and Paul Demeny, in order to investigate how he built his poetic, applied in his verses and in his facets as a photographer and explorer. written in full Commune of Paris, these letters, influenced by popular revolts, anarchist ideas and communists, the labor movements and the invention of photography, coincide with the ruptura  ra of the stylistic, moral and political canons of Rimbaud, then 16 years old. It sinks-given in the prophetic function of poetry, which laid the foundations for the subsequent writing of A Season In Hell and Les Illuminations. Finally, he realizes how the search for a language universal, emancipated from classical forms, transcended time and had repercussions on the expressions ns of artists such as Alejandra Pizarnik, Neruda, Patti Smith, Picasso, Bertolt Brecht and Pasolini.Se parte de las llamadas Cartas del vidente, escritas por Arthur Rimbaud en mayo de 1871, y dirigidas a Georges Izambard y Paul Demeny, a fin de indagar cómo construyó su poética, aplicada en sus versos y en sus facetas de fotógrafo y explorador. Escritas en plena Comuna de París, estas misivas, influidas por las revueltas populares, las ideas anarquistas y comunistas, los movimientos obreros y la invención de la fotografía, coinciden con la ruptura de los cánones estilísticos, morales y políticos de Rimbaud, entonces de 16 años. Se ahonda en la función profética de la poesía, que cimentó la posterior redacción de Una temporada en el infierno y Les Iluminations. Finalmente, se da cuenta de cómo la búsqueda de un lenguaje universal, emancipado de las formas clásicas, trascendió el tiempo y repercutió en las expresiones de artistas como Alejandra Pizarnik, Neruda, Patti Smith, Picasso, Bertolt Brecht y Pasolini

Elucidating the trophic role of Tapinoma ibericum (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) as a potential predator of olive pests

Ants play a key role in improving the structure and function of local communities. They interact with plants, herbivores, predators and parasitoids and are able to change their trophic role in space and time. These features, however, make it difficult to establish the net trophic role of ants in agroecosystems. Here we aim to determine the isotopic enrichment and tissue incorporation rates in ants of the Tapinoma nigerrimum complex, which are found abundantly in olive orchards (i.e. T. ibericum), to determine their trophic role through stable isotopes analysis. We compared the isotopic signature of ants feeding on (1) natural diets, (2) experimental diets and (3) contrasting diets of ants inhabiting natural habitats and olive orchards with different management systems. Then, we contrasted our isotopic results on natural diets with the prey of ant foragers in olive orchards. Our results showed that (1) ants from olive orchards had an isotopic signature different from that of a hyper-predator; (2) the isotopic signature did not vary significantly amongst different management practices and (3) the diet of ants in nature varies greatly on preys according to resource availability, which may be reflected in isotopic signatures. Therefore, T. ibericum is a species that can potentially contribute to control olive pests without posing a risk to other natural enemies because commonly it is not a hyper-predator. Hall-Petch strengthening of the constrained metallic binder in WC-Co cemented carbides: Experimental assessment by means of massive nanoindentation and statistical analysis

WC–Co cemented carbides are geometrically complex composites constituted for two interpenetrating networks of the constitutive ceramic and metal phases. Accordingly, assessment of microstructural effects on the local mechanical properties of each phase is a challenging task, especially for the metallic binder. In this work, it is attempted by combining massive nanoindentation, statistical analysis, and implementation of a thin film model for deconvolution of the intrinsic hardness and flow stress of the metallic phase. Plotting of yield stress values as a function of the binder mean free path results in a Hall-Petch strengthening relationship with a slope (ky) of 0.98 MPa m1/2. This value points out the effectiveness of WC–Co phase boundaries as strong obstacles to slip propagation; and thus, for toughening of the brittle phase (WC) by means of crack-bridging ductile (Co) reinforcement.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Catalytic hydrodehalogenation of the flame retardant tetrabromobisphenol A by alumina-supported Pd, Rh and Pt catalysts

Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) is one of the most used BFRs, being characterized by a strong persistence and leading to negative effects on both the environment and human health. The aim of this work is to evaluate the feasibility of aqueous-phase catalytic hydrodehalogenation (HDH) for the fast and environmentally-friendly degradation of the brominated flame retardant TBBPA. Pd, Rh, and Pt on alumina commercial catalysts (1% wt.) were tested and reactions were performed under ambient operating conditions. TBBPA (1 mg L−1) was completely removed in short reaction times ( 95%) in 15 min using Pd/Al2O3. Nevertheless, employing Rh and Pt alumina-supported catalysts debromination of TBBPA increased progressively requiring much longer times and only 83% and 78% debromination yields were achieved after 2 h reaction, respectively. Bisphenol A (BPA), a well-known endocrine disruptor, was generated as reaction intermediate but it was further hydrogenated with both Pd and Rh catalysts, whereas it remained as reaction product with the Pt catalyst. A series reaction pathway considering both hydrodebromination and hydrogenation steps was proposed based on the obtained results. The experimental data obtained with the Pd/Al2O3 catalyst were successfully described by a pseudo-first order kinetic model, obtaining an apparent activation energy of 36 kJ mol−1. Notably, this catalyst showed a reasonable stability after three consecutive HDH run

Infección de partes blandas rápidamente progresiva por Streptococcus pyogenes, toda información cuenta

A 24-year-old male patient came to the emergency department with pain and swelling in the third finger of the left hand after mechanical exertion and was discharged with symptomatic treatment. He returned 20 hours later with worsening symptoms, violaceous coloration of the finger, decreased mobility and erythematous plaques of lymphangitis on the forearm. An emergency surgical cleaning was performed and the patient was admitted for antibiotic treatment. After several days of treatment, progressive necrosis of the finger was observed and amputation of the finger was decided, cultures were positive for Streptococcus pyogenes.Un hombre de 24 años acudía a Urgencias por dolor y tumefacción en el tercer dedo de la mano izquierda tras un esfuerzo mecánico, siendo dado de alta con tratamiento sintomático. Volvía a las 20 horas con empeoramiento de los síntomas, coloración violácea del dedo, disminución de la movilidad y placas eritematosas de linfangitis en el antebrazo. Se decidió realizar una limpieza quirúrgica de urgencia además del ingreso del paciente para tratamiento antibiótico. Después de varios días de tratamiento, se observó necrosis progresiva en el dedo y se decidió la amputación del mismo. Los cultivos fueron positivos para Streptococcus pyogenes

A título orientativo, señalamos algunos datos que dan cuenta de su estructura y funcionamiento: Según el censo de primero de enero de ese año, eran 620 las camas ocupadas. Escasa dotación de personal asistencial (dos médicos psiquiatras a dedicación parcial)
