El Delorean extraviado: usos confusos del flashback postclásico (y otros viajes temporales)

Regreso al futuro relata las aventuras de un adolescente y un científico que crea una máquina para viajar en el tiempo instalada en un DeLorean. Pero los frecuentes saltos no afectan a la linealidad narrativa: el relato se instala en el presente. El viaje temporal destila el uso convencional que el cine clásico ha hecho del flashback: el de una parada controlada que permite esclarecer la historia. Por contra, observamos en numerosas ficciones postclásicas que los saltos temporales no aparecen tanto para explicar la historia sino para confundirla. But the frequent jumps do not affect the linear narrative: the story settles in the present. The time travel distills the conventional use that the classical cinema has made of the flashback: a controlled stop that allows to clear up the story. In contrast, we observed in many post-classical fictions that the temporary jumps do not appear both to explain the story but to confuse. Solidarizar cuando en transformar no se cree. Efectos de sentido y sin-sentido en los discursos solidarios bajo el paradigma informativo

[Resumen] Actualmente observamos un aumento de discursos de clave ecológica y solidaria que instan con urgencia a una concienciación ciudadana sobre el calentamiento global para salvar el planeta. El caso paradigmático es Una Verdad Incómoda (An Inconvenient Truth, David Guggenheim, 2006) por el que Al Gore ganó el Premio Príncipe de Asturias de Cooperación Internacional y el Premio Nobel de la Paz en 2007. Estas tendencias en comunicación aparecen bajo lo que Jose Antonio Palao nombra como Paradigma Informativo. Este se define como «el estatuto ontológico de una modalidad de distribución de los saberes en su correspondencia con los objetos que determina la expectativa de lo posible en nuestra cultura, bajo la égida de la omnipotencia científica», y en él la solidaridad y la ecología se han convertido en un valores tan indiscutibles como preponderantes en la moral social contemporánea. Ahora bien, estas propuestas solidarias se presentan como alternativa a la impotencia o a la indiferencia de los proyectos políticos respecto a las causas, tal y como ejemplifica una de las frases emblemáticas de Al Gore: «Esto no es una cuestión política sino moral». Sentencias como esta hacen necesario revisar en qué medida los discursos solidarios construyen un imaginario social que en lugar de dialectizar crítica e históricamente con la política se presentan como autónomos y autooperativos respecto a ésta. Pues estos valores informativos crean la esperanza en la salvación del planeta a través del consenso y la concienciación ciudadana pero no desde un proyecto narrativo, de manera que parecen haber desplazado la creencia de la política de izquierdas en la transformación dialéctica el mundo

Synthesis and cytotoxic activity of geranylmethoxyhydroquinone derivatives

Además, los nuevos derivados geranylmethoxyhydroquinones (3-6) se obtuvieron mediante transformaciones químicas de 1 y 2. Los compuestos se han evaluado por sus actividades citotóxicas contra PC-3 línea celular humana de cáncer de próstata, MCF 7-y humano MDA-MB-231 las células de cáncer de mama líneas y dengue hemorrágico cutánea fibroblastos humanos. Alimentación, carestías y crisis de mortalidad en la España cantábrica (1680-1860)

This article examines the food consumption patterns, the evolution of catastrophic mortality and the role of famines in the appearance of mortality crises on the Cantabrian coast from the late seventeenth to the mid-nineteenth century, before the start of the industrial era. Family budgets, burials and wheat prices are used here to measure how important the shortages were in the appearance of adult mortality crises. Though the population was generally well nourished, the main finding of this analysis is that on the rare occasions in which famines did occur, they were mainly a combination of local crop failures, a break down in the usual marketing channels or wars that caused situations of extreme food scarcity over the course of two or more years

The Assesment of Emotions in Music Rhythm Training with Computers at Three Chilean Music Education Institutions

The primary aim of this work is to investigate the 'emotional dimension' as a criterion for evaluating an educational music software called Tactus. In order to collect data, two training sessions were carried out with volunteer students (N=45) in specialized music education at three Chilean institutions. After, an evaluation was carried out using an assessment instrument, which was devised to determine the emotions, both positive and negative, which come into play when a student uses Tactus, and thereby measure the emotional dimension to determine the quality of the program in the affective domain. This instrument, a checklist of positive and negative emotions, was completed as part of a student/user report, included in a more global evaluation questionnaire completed at the end of the two weeklong training sessions with Tactus. The positive results confirm previous, other traditional assessments that describe Tactus as a useful support tool for teaching rhythm in educational environments. The results of this study also suggest that that evaluation of the emotional dimension may be useful in the general scope of the evaluation of educational software

Estudio a fatiga de prótesis dentales

Las prótesis dentales son el primer eslabón en la transmisión de esfuerzos que se encuentra en el conjunto de elementos mecánicos de los implantes dentales. A través de ellos se transmitirán los esfuerzos producidos al masticar hacia el implante, el cual los transmitirá a su vez hacia la mandíbula, por lo que, a lo largo de su vida útil, este conjunto se verá sometido a numerosos ciclos de carga. Es debido a este hecho que se ha propuesto un estudio a fatiga de las prótesis dentales. Existen diversas clases de prótesis: fijas sobre dientes naturales, fijas sobre implantes, removibles parciales y completas. El estudio que se va a llevar a cabo se centrará en las prótesis fijas de implantes.Dental prostheses are the first link in the transmission of efforts found in the set of mechanical elements of dental implants. Through them, the stresses produced by chewing will be transmitted to the implant, which in turn will transmit them to the jaw, so that, throughout its useful life, this set will be subjected to numerous load cycles. It is due to this fact that a fatigue study of dental prostheses has been proposed. There are different kinds of prostheses: fixed on natural teeth, fixed on implants, partial and complete removable.
