It has been considered of great interest to study how corporate social responsibility’s practices influence on the behaviour of current companies and, indeed, analyzing the value that they give to their intangible assets. In connection with this, in the last years the concept of intellectual capital has emerged, linked to non-financial information of the company and in reference to the set of assets, as knowledge, experiences, capabilities, skills, or values. The main objective of this work is to study some companies of IBEX-35 (BBVA, Enagás, Ferrovial, Iberdrola, Inditex, Indra, Repsol and Telefónica). In order to find out how they disclose information on each of the indicator of the model (GRI-3 or GRI-4)

An integrated targeted and untargeted approach for the analysis of ergot alkaloids in cereals using UHPLC - hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry

An ultra-high performance liquid chromatography hybrid quadrupole time of flight (Q-TOF) mass spectrometry (MS) method is described for the simultaneous quantitative determination of common ergot alkaloids and the screening, detection and identification of unexpected (less studied or novel) members of this class of toxic fungal secondary metabolites. The employed analytical strategy involves an untargeted data acquisition (consisting of full scan TOF MS survey and information dependent acquisition MS/MS scans) and the processing of data using both targeted and untargeted approaches. Method performance characteristics for the quantitative analysis of 6 common ergot alkaloids i.e. ergometrine, ergosine, ergotamine, ergocornine, ergocristine, ergokryptine and their corresponding epimers in rye were comparable to those previously reported for triple-quadrupole (QqQ) MS/MS. The method limits of quantification (LOQ) were in the range from 3 to 19 mu g/kg, and good linearity was observed for the different ergot alkaloids in the range from LOQ to 1000 mu g/kg. Furthermore, the method demonstrated good precision (relative standard deviations at 50 mu g/kg not higher than 14.6 and 16.2% for the intra-day and inter-day precision, respectively), and the trueness values at different concentration levels were all between 89 and 115%. The method was applied for the analysis of a set of 17 rye samples and demonstrated the presence of these ergot alkaloids in the range from <LOQ to 2,811 mu g/kg. Further mining of the same data based on a 'non-targeted peak finding' algorithm and the use of full MS and MS/MS accurate mass data allowed the detection and identification of 19 ergot alkaloids that are commonly not included in most analytical methods using QqQ instruments. Some of these alkaloids are reported for the first time in naturally contaminated samples

Background/Objectives Very few studies have examined schizophrenia morbidity in Spain, using multiple sources of information. We performed a 1-year prevalence study of schizophrenia and related disorders in Málaga and the use of services in a population aged 14 years or older living in the mental health catchment area of Carlos Haya hospital (Málaga, Spain). Methods Data were obtained from multiple sources of information mainly clinical databases. We selected more than 4000 persons as “possible cases” and we consult case notes and key informant (general practice and psychiatrists) to confirm schizophrenic diagnoses and place of living. Results A total of 1808 patients, 1169 men and 639 women were included as cases in the study. The one year ICD-10 prevalence rate was 6,8 (6,5-7,1) per 1000 adult population. Almost 80% of cases were in contact with public mental health services. Responsibility for schizophrenic patients is mainly carried by mental health services. Discussion/Conclusion Health planning should be based on local data about prevalence and use of services. Multiple sources of information are essential for accurate estimation of prevalence of schizophrenia disorders. GrantsUniversidad de Málaga. Campus de Excelencia Internacional Andalucía Tech. Aim: To develop a procedure for integrated management through processes of local development projects leading to increased effectiveness. Methods: The theoretical methods used were analysis and synthesis for information processing, and the historical-logical for project analysis. The empirical methods used were interview and scientific observation to determine the elements with negative impacts on local development project management, and document review to systematize previous studies. Statistics Program for Social Sciences, SPSS 21.0, was used for information processing, and UCINE 6 was used to graph the network. Main results: a set of managing tools was developed, including diagrams and process sheets. These general indicators are used to measure the outcome of local development projects, whose resulting indexes are utilized to measure the integration level among processes and dimensions, and to evaluate effectiveness. Besides, the procedure (made of four stages), was applied to six local development projects in the municipality of Holguin (province of Holguin), Cuba. Conclusions: Integrated management through processes of local development projects allowed researchers to offer executives a managing and strategic approach through identification and classification of their economic, socio-cultural, institutional, and environmental dimensions, as well as of the local actors. The applications implemented demonstrate that the procedure applied was the groundwork of local development project management, and that they are viable in practice.

Although widely, as well as recently explored, the concept of urban resilience still poses important issues in terms of its operationalization. For this reason, best practices that show how the resilience concept has been turned into planning practice are much needed. This article presents and discusses the case study of the Charca de Suárez Nature Concerted Reserve, an urban wetland situated along the Andalusian coast (Spain), to contribute to filling the gap on the operationalization of urban resilience at the local planning level. In the Charca, an adaptive co-management and design approach has been successfully put into practice to foster local urban resilience. Starting from some recent key studies on planning and management policies for urban resilience, we propose a framework to read, understand and evaluate the Charca experience, and more generally, resilience-based projects. The analysis highlighted the following crucial key aspects for urban resilience in the Charca case study: A collaborative governance model; and the building of community-capitals. The Charca de Suárez Nature Concerted Reserve can actually be acknowledged as an innovative planning practice, a source of inspiration for visions and experiments oriented to urban resilienc
