    Estandarización de ensayos para el estudio de procesos spf/db de elementos aeronáuticos

    El conformado superplástico es un proceso de fabricación muy especializado que se encuentra dentro del campo del conformado de chapas, aplicándose generalmente para fabricar piezas que necesiten adquirir una geometría compleja para las que el conformado a alta temperatura no es válido. El conformado superplástico hace uso de unas propiedades particulares que presentan ciertos materiales a determinadas condiciones de alta temperatura y velocidades de deformación lentas, por lo que se considera un procedimiento costoso, limitándose su uso a aplicaciones donde otros métodos de fabricación no consiguen los resultados deseados. El ensayo de deformación libre en molde cilíndrico y a presión constante se presenta como un procedimiento fácil de implementar y del que se puede obtener información para analizar tanto el proceso como el material. Esta facilidad para implementar el ensayo y su versatilidad para realizar diferentes tipos de estudio ha hecho que su uso como ensayo de conformado superplástico a escala de laboratorio se haya consolidado en los últimos años. Sin embargo, su aplicación no se rige bajo ninguna norma o procedimiento estandarizado. El conocimiento completo de este tipo de ensayo se encamina a la consecución de una estandarización de un método concreto para estudiar el conformado superplástico desde una perspectiva global. Para ello, se aborda el estudio de este tipo de ensayo haciendo uso de diferentes herramientas de análisis, desde el análisis mediante elementos finitos, la realización de pruebas experimentales, el estudio a nivel teórico-matemático, o una aplicación novedosa del análisis dimensional

    Dimensional Analysis of Superplastic Processes with the Buckingham pi Theorem

    This work applies the Buckingham pi theorem from dimensional analysis on superplastic processes in order to obtain laws of behaviour in a simple way. For this reason, a mathematical background is developed. The particular behaviour of superplastic materials makes it necessary to adapt the way in which these are treated, modelling them by a viscosity function of the strain-rate. Then, dimensional analysis is applied on a set of free-inflation tests in order to obtain a formula that defines the forming time as single function of geometric and material variables. Dimensional analysis allows us to reduce the number of variables to analyse from six to only three. Finally, two different forming time estimators are compared to measure the accuracy of our method, showing a significant improvement over previous methods

    A method for estimating superplastic material parameters via free-inflation tests

    In this work, a new methodology for evaluating the constitutive parameters of superplastic materials is presented. The proposed methodology provides the characterization of the material by means of a variable called apparent viscosity. This variable is calculated for three different materials through data collected by free inflation tests made at different temperatures and pressure values. The apparent viscosity was then used to calculate some material parameters by which the experimental tests were reproduced numerically in a finite element commercial code. The results obtained by numerical simulations were compared both with the experimental ones and with ones deriving by simulations run with material parameters calculated by a commonly used methodology. The proposed approach revealed to have a good prediction capability with deviations lower than the one found by the approach taken as reference. A second validation step was then performed by comparing the stress and strain-rate values found through the proposed methodology with the curves constructed by applying uniaxial tests results from literature. This latter comparison showed that results fit well with the behaviour shown using the standardised uniaxial tests

    Solving an IBEM with supporting vector analysis to design quiet TMS coils

    Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a promising tool in neuroscience of which successful development is affected by the loud click noise originated when the stimulating coil is energized. This undesired sound is produced by the coil winding deformations generated by the Lorentz self-forces in the TMS device. Addressing the need for TMS systems that produce less noise, a quiet coil design technique is proposed in this work, where instead of minimizing directly the coil deflection, the Lorentz self-force is optimized in order to reduce the acoustic noise. The presented method is based on a stream function IBEM for TMS coil design in which new computational models have been incorporated into the optimization problem, which is efficiently solved by using supporting vector analysis. Several examples of coils of different geometries were designed and simulated to demonstrate the efficiency of the suggested IBEM approach to produce TMS devices that experience minimum Lorentz self-forces. In order to evaluate the acoustic response of the designed TMS coils, the commercial MSC/NASTRAN was used to find the coil deflection. The obtained results show that significant noise reduction can be achieved by minimizing the Lorentz self-force over the TMS coil surface

    The diagnosis of sarcopenia through clinical assessment has some limitations. The literature advises studies that include objective markers along with clinical assessment in order to improve the sensitivity and specificity of current diagnostic criteria.     Criteria for HydroSOS Quality Index. Application to Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Processed Table Olives

    Water, especially in arid and semiarid regions, is increasingly a disputed commodity among different productive sectors; the pressure for a more sustainable use of water in agriculture will grow. The main strategy to cope with water scarcity is the use of improved, innovative, and precise deficit irrigation management practices which are able to minimize the impact on fruit yield and quality. The aim of this paper was to develop a certification index or hydroSOS quality index for extra virgin olive oil and processed table olives. The hydrosSOS fruits and vegetables are those cultivated under regulated deficit irrigation (RDI). Different indicators in three quality areas ((i) fatty acids, (ii) phenolic compounds, and (iii) sensory attributes) were identified as showing characteristic or typical responses under RDI conditions. Marks or scores were assigned to each one of these indicators to calculate the proposed index. It can be concluded that an extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) or processed table olives are hydroSOStainable foods, if they meet 2 conditions: (i) fulfill the conditions established in the hydroSOS “irrigation” index, and (ii) fulfill the requirements of the hydroSOS “quality” index. HydroSOS quality index will be specific to each crop and variety and will depend on functional and sensory factors

    En esta obra se recogen las aportaciones de diversos autores, que en algunos casos son profesionales dedicados a la actividad de Protección Civil o, en otros, son profesionales del mundo académico, con conocimientos especializados en este campo, y cuyas aportaciones, en conjunto, dan una visión panorámica respecto a la configuración actual del Sistema Nacional de Protección Civil, y resuelven la cuestión de cómo las competencias autonómicas se insertan en el mismo, con tratamiento particularizado del contenido normativo vigente en la Comunidad Autónoma Valenciana. Se hace referencia también, a cómo el Sistema Nacional de Protección Civil se encuadra en el Mecanismo Europeo de Protección Civil, que supone un nivel competencial más, pero organizado en base a los mismos principios de coordinación, cooperación y solidaridad de los territorios, y que al insertarse aquel como sistema integrado en el plano europeo, respeta completamente la distribución competencial, sin que esta participación en la dimensión competencias autonómicas.Esta edición se ha financiado mediante la concesión de la subvención de la Generalitat Valenciana, a través de la Conselleria de Governació i Justícia, aprobada por Resolución de 12 de marzo de 2015, con la cual se financiaron también las Jornadas sobre el desarrollo de las competencias de Protección Civil en la Generalitat Valenciana

    Phosphoproteomic Analysis of Platelets in Severe Obesity Uncovers Platelet Reactivity and Signaling Pathways Alterations

    OBJECTIVE: Obesity is associated with a proinflammatory and prothrombotic state that supports atherosclerosis progression. The goal of this study was to gain insights into the phosphorylation events related to platelet reactivity in obesity and identify platelet biomarkers and altered activation pathways in this clinical condition. APPROACH AND RESULTS: We performed a comparative phosphoproteomic analysis of resting platelets from obese patients and their age- A nd gender-matched lean controls. The phosphoproteomic data were validated by mechanistic, functional, and biochemical assays. We identified 220 differentially regulated phosphopeptides, from at least 175 proteins; interestingly, all were up-regulated in obesity. Most of the altered phosphoproteins are involved in SFKs (Src-family kinases)-related signaling pathways, cytoskeleton reorganization, and vesicle transport, some of them validated by targeted mass spectrometry. To confirm platelet dysfunction, flow cytometry assays were performed in whole blood indicating higher surface levels of GP (glycoprotein) VI and CLEC (C-type lectin-like receptor) 2 in platelets from obese patients correlating positively with body mass index. Receiver operator characteristics curves analysis suggested a much higher sensitivity for GPVI to discriminate between obese and lean individuals. Indeed, we also found that obese platelets displayed more adhesion to collagen-coated plates. In line with the above data, soluble GPVI levels-indicative of higher GPVI signaling activation-were almost double in plasma from obese patients.     A Comprehensive Tyrosine Phosphoproteomic Analysis Reveals Novel Components of the Platelet CLEC-2 Signaling Cascade

    This is an Accepted Manuscript of an article published by Thieme Publishing Group in Thrombosis and Haemostasis on 04 January 2020, available online at https://www.thieme-connect.de/products/ejournals/abstract/10.1055/s-0039-3400295C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2) plays a crucial role in different platelet-related physiological and pathological processes. It signals through a tyrosine kinase-mediated pathway that is highly dependent on the positive feedback exerted by the platelet-derived secondary mediators, adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and thromboxane A2 (TXA2). Here, we aimed to analyze the tyrosine phosphoproteome of platelets activated with the CLEC-2 agonist rhodocytin to identify relevant phosphorylated tyrosine residues (p-Tyr) and proteins involved in platelet activation downstream of this receptor. We identified 363 differentially p-Tyr residues, corresponding to the majority of proteins previously known to participate in CLEC-2 signaling and also novel ones, including adaptors (e.g., DAPP1, Dok1/3, CASS4, Nck1/2), kinases/phosphatases (e.g., FAK1, FES, FGR, JAK2, SHIP2), and membrane proteins (e.g., G6F, JAM-A, PECAM-1, TLT-1). To elucidate the contribution of ADP and TXA2 at different points of the CLEC-2 signaling cascade, we evaluated p-Tyr levels of residues identified in the analysis and known to be essential for the catalytic activity of kinases Syk(p-Tyr525+526) and Src(p-Tyr419), and for PLCγ2 activity (p-Tyr759). We demonstrated that Syk phosphorylation at Tyr525+526 also happens in the presence of ADP and TXA2 inhibitors, which is not the case for Src-pTyr419 and PLCγ2-pTyr759. Kinetics studies for the three phosphoproteins show some differences in the phosphorylation profile. Ca2+ mobilization assays confirmed the relevance of ADP and TXA2 for full CLEC-2-mediated platelet activation.     Interactive translation prediction versus conventional post-editing in practice: a study with the CasMaCat workbench

    [EN] We conducted a field trial in computer-assisted professional translation to compare interactive translation prediction (ITP) against conventional post-editing (PE) of machine translation (MT) output. In contrast to the conventional PE set-up, where an MT system first produces a static translation hypothesis that is then edited by a professional (hence "post-editing"), ITP constantly updates the translation hypothesis in real time in response to user edits. Our study involved nine professional translators and four reviewers working with the web-based CasMaCat workbench. Various new interactive features aiming to assist the post-editor/translator were also tested in this trial. Our results show that even with little training, ITP can be as productive as conventional PE in terms of the total time required to produce the final translation.
