Experimental method for biaxial tensile strength of fabrics and preliminary investigations
This paper presents a novel experimental approach to determine the biaxial strength of fabrics. A double-layer cruciform specimen was proposed based on the improvement of previous test specimen. The design and manufacture process of the novel specimen was described in detail. Uniaxial and biaxial tests of a specific material were performed subsequently. Based on numerical simulation, the biaxial strength of the fabrics was preliminary investigated. And the correlation between uniaxial and biaxial strength of the material was discussed. The proposed experiments could characterize the biaxial strength of fabrics, and the biaxial strength of the fabrics at 1:1 tension is higher than the weft strength and little lower than the warp strength
Progress on Neutron-Target Multipoles above 1 GeV
We report a new extraction of nucleon resonance couplings using pi-
photoproduction cross sections on the neutron. The world database for the
process gn-->pi-p above 1 GeV has quadrupled with the addition of new
differential cross sections from the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS)
at Jefferson Lab in Hall B. Differential cross sections from CLAS have been
improved with a new final-state interaction determination using a diagrammatic
technique taking into account the SAID phenomenological NN and piN final-state
interaction amplitudes. Resonance couplings have been extracted and compared to
previous determinations. With the addition of these new cross sections,
significant changes are seen in the high-energy behavior of the SAID cross
sections and amplitudes.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, 1 table; talk given at 12th International

Stability of martensite with pulsed electric current in dual-phase steels
Softening frequently occurs in dual-phase steels under isothermal tempering of martensite. Recently, non-isothermal tempering is implemented to decrease the softening process in dual-phase steels. Here, we have discovered using high power electropulsing treatment can significantly enhance the strengthening effects via the formation of ultrafine-grained ferrite with nano-cementite particles in tempered martensitic-ferritic steels. To the best our knowledge, electropulsing treatment is a proper candidate to retard even to recovery the softening problems in the tempering of martensite in comparison with other isothermal and non-isothermal tempering methods
Evidence for a three-nucleon-force effect in proton-deuteron elastic scattering
Developments in spin-polarized internal targets for storage rings have
permitted measurements of 197 MeV polarized protons scattering from vector
polarized deuterons. This work presents measurements of the polarization
observables A_y, iT_11, and C_y,y in proton-deuteron elastic scattering. When
compared to calculations with and without three-nucleon forces, the
measurements indicate that three-nucleon forces make a significant contribution
to the observables. This work indicates that three-body forces derived from
static nuclear properties appear to be crucial to the description of dynamical
properties.Comment: 8 pages 2 figures Latex, submitted to Phys. Rev. Letter
Purely-long-range bound states of HeHe
We predict the presence and positions of purely-long-range bound states of
HeHe near the atomic
limits. The results of the full multichannel and approximate models are
compared, and we assess the sensitivity of the bound states to atomic
parameters characterizing the potentials. Photoassociation to these
purely-long-range molecular bound states may improve the knowledge of the
scattering length associated with the collisions of two ultracold
spin-polarized He atoms, which is important for studies of
Bose-Einstein condensates.Comment: 16 pages, 5 figure
Chapter 12 - Long-term climate change: Projections, commitments and irreversibility
This chapter assesses long-term projections of climate change for the end of the 21st century and beyond, where the forced signal depends on the scenario and is typically larger than the internal variability of the climate system. Changes are expressed with respect to a baseline period of 1986-2005, unless otherwise stated
Properties of the Lambda(1520) Resonance from High-Precision Electroproduction Data
High-resolution spectrometer measurements of the reaction H(e,e'K+)X at small
Q2 are used to extract the mass and width of the Lambda(1520). We investigate
the influence of various assumptions used in the extraction. The width appears
to be more sensitive to the assumptions than the mass. To reach a width
uncertainty about 1 MeV or better, one needs to know the structure of the
non-resonant background. Based on the new Jefferson Lab Hall A data, our final
values for the Breit-Wigner parameters are M = 1520.4 +- 0.6 (stat) +- 1.5
(syst) MeV, Gamma = 18.6 +- 1.9 (stat) +- 1 (syst) MeV. For the first time, we
also estimate the pole position for this resonance and find that both the pole
mass and width seem to be smaller than the Breit-Wigner values.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures; corresponds to the published versio
Mass measurements of neutron-deficient Y, Zr, and Nb isotopes and their impact on rp and Îœp nucleosynthesis processes

For further details please see: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Using isochronous mass spectrometry at the experimental storage ring CSRe in Lanzhou, the masses of 82Zr and 84Nb were measured for the first time with an uncertainty of âŒ10 keV, and the masses of 79Y, 81Zr, and 83Nb were re-determined with a higher precision. The latter are significantly less bound than their literature values. Our new and accurate masses remove the irregularities of the mass surface in this region of the nuclear chart. Our results do not support the predicted island of pronounced low α separation energies for neutron-deficient Mo and Tc isotopes, making the formation of ZrâNb cycle in the rp-process unlikely. The new proton separation energy of 83Nb was determined to be 490(400) keV smaller than that in the Atomic Mass Evaluation 2012. This partly removes the overproduction of the p-nucleus 84Sr relative to the neutron-deficient molybdenum isotopes in the previous Îœp-process simulations.Peer reviewe
D-concurrence bounds for pair coherent states
The pair coherent state is a state of a two-mode radiation field which is
known as a state with non-Gaussian wave function. In this paper, the upper and
lower bounds for D-concurrence (a new entanglement measure) have been studied
over this state and calculated.Comment: 11 page
Cosmological constraints on the generalized holographic dark energy
We use the Markov ChainMonte Carlo method to investigate global constraints
on the generalized holographic (GH) dark energy with flat and non-flat universe
from the current observed data: the Union2 dataset of type supernovae Ia
(SNIa), high-redshift Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs), the observational Hubble data
(OHD), the cluster X-ray gas mass fraction, the baryon acoustic oscillation
(BAO), and the cosmic microwave background (CMB) data. The most stringent
constraints on the GH model parameter are obtained. In addition, it is found
that the equation of state for this generalized holographic dark energy can
cross over the phantom boundary wde =-1.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figures. arXiv admin note: significant text overlap with
