a 2 Mm3.[EN] The mine of Llamas de Cabrera (Leon, Spain) is a gold deposit operated during the
Roman Empire, in which primary and secondary gold ores coexist. The primary gold
ores were hosted mainly in the upper layers of the Armorican Quartzite. They are lodes,
being very abundant those hosted in N180°E/70-85°E tensional fractures and rare the
ones associated to N70°E and N125°E fractures. They are formed by quartz and arsenopyrite
very dominant over pyrite, galena, gold, chalcopyrite, bismuthinite, tetrahedrite
and covellite. The accompanying hydrothermal alteration is silicification, sericitization
and chloritization. The determined supergene minerals are scorodite, goethite and anglesite.
The operated gold is free gold located generally in microfractures in arsenopyrite or
quartz. Its content in silver varies from 1,99 to 7,62%, whereas the copper content is
very low, remaining below the limit of instrumental detection. This study shows the
existence of two phases of mineralization, deposited during two hydrothermal events of
hercinian age, in addition to the supergenic phase. The secondary gold ores, operated in
alluvial and colluvial sediments, were deployed by the action of the exogenous cycle on
the primary gold deposits. We consider that the total volume of material moved at roman
Complexity analysis of spontaneous brain activity: effects of depression and antidepressant treatment
Magnetoencephalography (MEG) allows the real-time recording of neural activity and oscillatory activity in distributed neural networks. We applied a non-linear complexity analysis to resting-state neural activity as measured using whole-head MEG. Recordings were obtained from 20 unmedicated patients with major depressive disorder and 19 matched healthy controls. Subsequently, after 6 months of pharmacological treatment with the antidepressant mirtazapine 30 mg/day, patients received a second MEG scan. A measure of the complexity of neural signals, the Lempel–Ziv Complexity (LZC), was derived from the MEG time series. We found that depressed patients showed higher pre-treatment complexity values compared with controls, and that complexity values decreased after 6 months of effective pharmacological treatment, although this effect was statistically significant only in younger patients. The main treatment effect was to recover the tendency observed in controls of a positive correlation between age and complexity values. Importantly, the reduction of complexity with treatment correlated with the degree of clinical symptom remission. We suggest that LZC, a formal measure of neural activity complexity, is sensitive to the dynamic physiological changes observed in depression and may potentially offer an objective marker of depression and its remission after treatment
Deep Sequencing of the Mexican Avocado Transcriptome, an Ancient Angiosperm with a High Content of Fatty Acids
Background: Avocado (Persea americana) is an economically important tropical fruit considered to be a good source of fatty acids. Despite its importance, the molecular and cellular characterization of biochemical and developmental processes in avocado is limited due to the lack of transcriptome and genomic information.
Results: The transcriptomes of seeds, roots, stems, leaves, aerial buds and flowers were determined using different sequencing platforms. Additionally, the transcriptomes of three different stages of fruit ripening (pre-climacteric, climacteric and post-climacteric) were also analyzed. The analysis of the RNAseqatlas presented here reveals strong differences in gene expression patterns between different organs, especially between root and flower, but also reveals similarities among the gene expression patterns in other organs, such as stem, leaves and aerial buds (vegetative organs) or seed and fruit (storage organs). Important regulators, functional categories, and differentially expressed genes involved in avocado fruit ripening were identified. Additionally, to demonstrate the utility of the avocado gene expression atlas, we investigated the expression patterns of genes implicated in fatty acid metabolism and fruit ripening.
Conclusions: A description of transcriptomic changes occurring during fruit ripening was obtained in Mexican avocado, contributing to a dynamic view of the expression patterns of genes involved in fatty acid biosynthesis and the fruit ripening process
Experimental Techniques to Measure Hypnotic Levels During Surgery
[Abstract] The administration of anesthetics during a surgical procedure has been done historically in a manual way with the anesthesiologist deciding what amounts and at what rates to use. Over the last few decades there has been a rapid increase in the automation of many medical areas including anesthesiology, with that increased level of automation have also appeared new ways to measure the level of sedation in patients. Historically, one of the most frequently index used has been the BIS, which has proven rather reliable as an indicator. More recently, another index called PSI has attracted interest of practitioners. In this article a comparison of these two indexes was performed. Data recording BIS and PSI values from surgical operations for several patients were collected and analyzed. The results seem to indicate that it is to be expected that in 95% of the cases the correlation between the BIS and PSI index will be at least 0.6866.This work has been supported by the grant DPI2010-18278 of the Spanish Governmenthttps://doi.org/10.17979/spudc.978849749808

Logistics was the process that companies managed to bring raw materials to the factory and then bring a finished product to their customers, now the dynamics are more complex and the logistics became a fundamental part of the evolution of the process that we now call Supply Chain or supply chain. The supply chain is the cooperation of all those involved in the process that is carried out to take the raw material, turn it into a product and bring the finished and good quality product to the end customer, so that this is properly developed there must be a globalization of processes with constant updates and teamwork. In this work we take the company Permoda LTDA. From the textile sector in which Supply Chain's methodology is developed looking for problems such as bottlenecks that slow down the supply chain, using the established tools of this methodology, there is also a glimpse of how Colombia is facing other countries at the logistic and infrastructure level
Acercando los archivos a los ciudadanos. Una experiencia desde el Portal de Archivos Españoles (PARES) del Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte
The Spanish Archives Portal is the third generation in the computerization of the State Archives. It is intended to provide citizens and researchers with integrated on-line access to the archival databases of the eight state general archives distributed across Spain, while facsimiles or digital versions of the documents are added to the archival description catalogue. At the same time, PARES is producing a line of tools for electronic management of the public services offered in the network of the State Archives to researchers and members of the public visiting the archive in person. And thirdly, PARES is an archival platform intended to promote the whole range of possible dissemination strategies. The platform today is fundamentally a repository for the creation, management and dissemination of historical records. However, also it is involved in a process of transformation to accommodate the concepts of “open files” and web 2.0 principles. To do this, different courses of action are being pursued such as converting PARES into an OAI-PMH repository, which allows interoperability with other archival information systems, both Spanish and international, and the development of new tools and standards for the incorporating multilingual access Points.
