Cohabiter avec le navettage aéroporté : le cas de Val-d’Or en Abitibi-Témiscamingue

Ce rapport présente les résultats d’un modeste projet de recherche dont l’objectif premier était de porter un premier éclairage sur les effets du navettage aéroporté sur une communauté de départ québécoise. Il s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une initiative de recherche plus large initiée par le Regroupement des femmes de la Côte-Nord (ci-après « Regroupement ») et par la Chaire de recherche sur le développement durable du Nord (ci-après « Chaire »). Dans le cadre de ce projet, le Regroupement et la Chaire cherchaient à mieux comprendre les effets du navettage aéroporté sur les femmes, les familles et les communautés de la Côte-Nord (Regroupement des femmes de la Côte-Nord et Chaire de recherche sur le développement durable du Nord, 2019). En effet, ce mode de travail est prévalant dans cette région. On y retrouve d’ailleurs à la fois des communautés de départ et d’accueil

Antropología Empalabramiento - Escritura Simbólica Hermenéutica: Atraso - Progreso Arquetipo Científico Afrodescendiente Venezolano

This Research object of reflection will examine the contributions that it will make in the field of knowledge through wording and writing in the conceptions of backwardness - progress in Afro-descendant science in Venezuela today that can be appreciated in the presence of blacks, unlike of the Indians, constituted one of the favorite contributions of our literature. In this framework, the relevance of this research will focus on writings, perspectives: Anthropological, Epistemological, Ontological, Axiological, others. The discursive framework will be approached with the hermeneutic method, historical, and the participatory action research method. As possible results: the literary academic texts related to the process of assimilation, integration, acculturation, transculturation, interculturation are interpreted, later contributing reflections that contribute positively to the understanding of the Venezuelan Afro-descendant reality studied, in the same way, the importance of the female element, both in the collective unconscious and in social life.La presente   Investigación objeto de reflexión examinará los aportes que la misma hará en el campo del conocimiento a través del empalabramiento y la escritura en las concepciones de atraso - progreso en la ciencia afrodescendiente hoy venezolana que pueden apreciarse en la presencia de los negros, a diferencia de los indios, constituyó uno de los aportes predilectos de nuestra literatura. En este marco, la relevancia de esta investigación se centrará en escritos, perspectivas: Antropológicas, Epistemológica, Ontológica, Axiológica, otras. El entramado discursivo, será abordado con el método hermenéutico, histórico, y el método de investigación acción participante. Low-Grade Versus Medium-Grade Nuclear Sclerotic Cataract Density Produces Identical Surgical and Visual Outcomes: A Prospective Single-Surgeon Study

Purpose To determine whether the incidence of major complications and postoperative corrected distance visual acuity are comparable for surgery on low-grade versus medium-grade nuclear sclerotic cataracts. Design This was a prospective, consecutive, single-surgeon, no-exclusion study of 1025 cataract cases with one-month follow-up. Methods Patients were divided into two cohorts according to the nuclear sclerosis grade at presentation, as classified using the Lens Opacities Classification System (LOCS) III. Cohort A, representing low-grade nuclear sclerotic cataracts (grades 1-2), consisted of 739 eyes, while Cohort B, representing medium-grade nuclear sclerotic cataracts (grades 3-6), consisted of 286 eyes. Results There was no significant difference in major intraoperative or postoperative complications (p>0.999) between Cohorts A and B. The mean logMar preoperative corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) in Cohort A was 0.245 as compared with 0.346 in Cohort B (p<0.001). There was no significant difference between cohorts for postoperative CDVA at one day (-0.168 versus -0.118; p=0.070), one week (-0.180 versus -0.147; p=0.405), or one month (-0.185 versus -0.161; p=0.569). Conclusions There was no significant difference in the incidence of operative complications or postoperative CDVA between the cohorts. These findings suggest that, in experienced hands, surgery for medium-grade nuclear sclerotic cataracts is equally effective and safe as compared with that for low-grade nuclear sclerotic cataracts

Filosofía Liberadora Nuestra americana en la Ecosofía de Morín, Méndez y Sousa

The present Research and Reflection extract, ascribed to the thematic or area of knowledge: philosophy of liberation, has the substantive purpose of carrying out an ethnohistorical Anthropology of the philosophical postulates of Morín, Méndez and Sousa of the Latin American 21st century, in order to determine the cultural foundations of the ontological self-taught architecture and the relationships that the various social classes were establishing with emancipation and laws and with the liberal referents of the dominant enlightened knowledge between 1900 and 2023. Moreover, this reflection is intimately related to the expressive forms of the epochal everyday life, as a legacy of our epistemological system. The nineteenth-century philosophical framework of intercultural relations, under the aegis of the Enlightenment, subsumes numerous categories that structure the explanatory systems of the social sciences: ethos, space, community, people, everyday life, state, violence, ideology, economic-social, society, educational system, beliefs, politics, norms, customs, ethnicities, and the self-taught field (socio-cultural practices). It is these archetypal references that this research intends to approach on the basis of documents, texts, historical and legal texts from the period we will analyse. This reflexive visit to the past will be carried out with the help of documentary ethnohistory and taking as a context of interpretation, understanding and explanation the.El presente extracto de Investigación y reflexión, adscrito a la temática o área de conocimiento: filosofía de la liberación, tiene como finalidad sustantiva realizar una Antropología etnohistórica de los postulados filosóficos&nbsp; de Morín, Méndez y Sousa&nbsp; del siglo XXI latinoamericano, a fin de determinar los fundamentos culturales de la arquitectura autodidacta ontológica y las relaciones que las diversas clases sociales fueron estableciendo con la emancipación y las leyes y con los referentes liberales del conocimiento ilustrado dominante entre 1900 y 2023. Además, esta reflexión, está íntimamente relacionado con las formas expresivas de la vida cotidiana epocal, en tanto legado de nuestro sistema epistemológico. En el marco filosófico decimonónico de relaciones interculturales, bajo la égida de la ilustración, están subsumidas numerosas categorías que estructuran los sistemas explicativos de las ciencias sociales: ethos, espacio, comunidad, pueblo, vida cotidiana, estado, violencia, ideología, económico-sociales, sociedad, sistema educativo,&nbsp; creencias, política, normas, costumbres, etnicidades, y el campo autodidacta (las prácticas socioculturales). Son estas referencias arquetípicas que esta Investigación se plantea abordar a partir de los documentos, textos, históricos, jurídicos del periodo que analizaremos. Esta visita reflexiva hacia el pasado la haremos de la mano de la etnohistoria documental y teniendo como con-texto de interpretación, comprensión y explicación el espacio hermenéutico del conocimiento epocal y cómo éste fue pensado y puesto en práctica por aquella sociedad cuyo impacto aún resuena en la cultura de la Latinoamérica actual.&nbsp

Percepciones y motivaciones sobre la vasectomía de usuarias/os de redes sociales y hombres vasectomizados.

Esta Investigación tiene por objetivo describir las motivaciones de los hombres para decidir sobre la realización de la vasectomía y explorar la percepción social de este procedimiento en las personas que usan redes sociales. Se realizó un estudio exploratorio-descriptivo utilizando métodos cuantitativos (dos encuestas estructuradas). Se identificó que, de los hombres que se realizaron la vasectomía en septiembre de 2019, 81,4% estaba casado o unido, 52,3% tenía educación universitaria y 71,8% tenía dos o más hijos. Los conocimientos sobre la vasectomía son principalmente la facilidad del procedimiento y el requisito legal de tener mínimo 18 años para hacérsela; los imaginarios radican en que las personas consideran que un hombre que se realiza la vasectomía es cuidador, piensa en su pareja y disfruta plenamente de sus relaciones sexuales. Se puede concluir que la vasectomía se ha convertido en un procedimiento esencial para hombres que tienen una paridad satisfecha. Aún, hay desconocimiento sobre este procedimiento, se debe avanzar en la eliminación de barreras, imaginarios negativos y en estereotipos de género subyacentes en las personas, para avanzar en una responsabilidad compartida de la anticoncepción

Microstructured optical fiber Bragg grating-based shear stress sensing in adhesive bonds

We present shear stress sensing with a Bragg grating sensor fabricated in a highly birefringent microstructured optical fiber. This sensor has a shear strain sensing resolution of 0.04 pm/mu epsilon when embedded in a shear loaded adhesive bond. We achieve discrete shear stress mapping in an adhesive bond by embedding a multitude of these sensors at different locations in the bond line. Experiments and numerical modeling show the limited influence of angular misalignment of the sensor on its shear stress response. Finally, we discuss the cross-sensitivity of this sensor to shear strain and temperature
