Les arrels ... i el seu autor

En esta indroducción se glosa la figura profesional y cívica de Miquel Tarradell y se hace una aproximación historiográfica a su obra, con una referencia especial a Les arrels de Catalunya. Se hace un repaso a algunos de los aspectos más relevantes de su obra, muy influenciada por el difusionismo orientalista: sus aportaciones al conocimiento de l colonización fenicia arcaica, a la delimitación de la cultura del Argar a partir del estudio regional de l Edad del Bronce en el País Valenciano, al inicio de los estudios de economía prehistórica y a la prehistoria catalana.In this introduction the professional and civic figure of Miquel Tarradell is glossed and a historiographic approach to its work is made, with special reference to Les arrels de Catalunya. A review is made to some of the most outstanding aspects in its work, very influenced by the oriental diffusionism: their contributions to the knowledge of the Phoenician colonization in the archaic period, to the delimitation of the Argar culture starting from the regional study of the bronze Age in the Valencian Country, to the beginning of the studies of prehistoric economy and to Catalan prehistory

Un trípode de tipo chipriotra procedente de La Clota (Calaceite, Teruel)

El objetivo de este breve artículo es presentar dos pequeños fragmentos de bronce procedentes de un sepulcro de La Clota (Calaceite, Teruel) que han sido identificados recientemente como pertenecientes a un trípode de tipo chipriota. Pasamos revista sucintamente a las principales cuestiones que plantea el hallazgo: cronología, orígenes, contexto social e influencia en el artesanado local.The aim of this brief essay is to present two little fragments of bronze coming from a tomb in La Clota (Calaceite, Teruel) which were recently identified as being a part of a tripod in cypriot style. We examine in brief the main questions raised by the find: chronology, origins, social context and influence on local craftsmanship

Colgantes de bronce paleoibéricos en el N.E. de la Península Ibérica. Algunas reflexiones sobre las relaciones mediterráneas

La revisión de estos bronces lleva a proponer una manufacturación indígena, una cronología inicial preibérica y una inspiración última en modelos orientales centromediterráneos presentes ya en la Península en horizontes anteriores o bien que reciben un nuevo impulso con las navegaciones fenicias o indígenas.The reviewing of these bronze items is the basis to propound that their manufacture began in pre-Iberian times and that it took as a model oriental traditions coming from central Mediterranean which were already present at the Iberian Peninsula long before. El textil como indicador de género en el registro funerario ibérico

It is conventionally argued that prehistoric textile manufacture was generally the preserve of women. This claim as well as the limitations of archaeological funerary record and the use of a biased approach to gender classification have generated a less than rigorous interpretations of the funerary record. One new approach is by focusing on osteological studies. However, existing Iberian funerary material presents an added difficulty, since the process of incineration, traditionally used, creates particular difficulties when it comes to identifying sex from human skeletal materials.El hecho que en la prehistoria las actividades ligadas al textil tengan un carácter casi exclusivamente femenino, unido a las limitaciones del registro funerario y a la aplicación de criterios rígidos de clasificación de género han llevado a interpretaciones del registro funerario faltas de rigor. Los estudios osteológicos pueden ayudar a superar esta situación, aunque el registro funerario ibérico tiene un factor de complejidad añadido: el ritual de incineración que suponía la práctica ritual generalizada dificulta en gran medida la determinación sexual a través del análisis antropológico.El fet que en la prehistòria les activitats vinculades al tèxtil tinguin un caràcter quasi exclusivament femení, unit a les limitacions del registre funerari i a l'aplicació de rígids criteris de classificació de gènere han conduit a interpretacions del registre funerari mancades de rigor. Els estudis osteològics poden ajudar a superar aquesta situació. Nuevos datos arqueológicos sobre el poblamiento altomedieval del Priorat (Tarragona)

New archaeological data from the Priorat County (Tarragona) are presented. They refer to a badly known period, the time span between the 7th to 10th centuries. These data have been obtained in the course of archaeological investigations whose object was Prehistory. The emergence of information related to the medieval period in prehistoric sites affects two important aspects. The first of them is to contribute to the study of the settlement within this period, in which the data seem to indicate the absence of rupture and population vacuum. The second refers to methodological considerations that highlight the bias that certain scientific prejudices have introduced into the data.Se presentan nuevos datos arqueológicos del nordeste peninsular (comarca del Priorat, Tarragona) relativos a un período poco conocido, el lapso temporal entre los siglos VII a X. Dichos datos han sido obtenidos en el curso de investigaciones arqueológicas cuyo objeto era la Prehistoria. La emergencia de informaciones relativas al período altomedieval en yacimientos prehistóricos incide en dos aspectos importantes. El primero de ellos es contribuir al estudio del poblamiento en este período en el que los datos parecen indicar la ausencia de una ruptura y de un vacío poblacional. El segundo se refiere a consideraciones metodológicas que ponen de manifiesto el sesgo que determinados prejuicios científicos han introducido en los datos
